Training of future primary school teachers in the Czech Republic and Belgium

This thesis deals with a training of primary school teachers in the Czech Republic and in the French-speaking part of Belgium. It is a comparative study analyzing corresponding systems of tertiary education. In detail it describes selected examples of education used by the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague and the École normale catholique du Brabant Wallon at Haute Ecole Léonard de Vinci in Louvain - la - Neuve. For the purpose of mutual inspiration it presents individual curricula of both universities, the relationship of theory and practice in the studies and, based on author`s own observations and experience, reflections of two specific issues from each institution which are interesting and unique. It also presents problems of professional competence of teachers who apply for teacher training. Because such paper is already valid in Belgium, while in the Czech Republic it is still in progress. Both schools have a lot to offer for its current students, but there is always space for further development.

Comparison of the role of an occupational therapist on department of inpatient rehabilitation care in Ghent and in Prague.

The bachelor thesis studies the role of occupational therapist on department of rehabilitation. This is a comparison between a Belgian hospital UZ Gent and two Czech hospitals: General University Hospital (VFN) and University Hospital Motol in Prague. Qualitative research was applied in this thesis. Gathering information was carried out since October 2012 till June 2013 using following sources: literature, internet sources, semi- structured interviews with four occupational therapist in three different hospitals on four departments. The result of processing the information was the comparison of the role of occupational therapist on the inpatient rehabilitation department. This comparison provides an overview of possibilities of occupational therapy intervention in hospitals. The environment, health care and rehabilitation system of Belgium and Czech Republic, occupational therapy tests and assessments and occupational therapy in inpatient care itself are described in theoretical part. Methodology research and research results are included in practical part. Liberal intergovernmentalism: The role of small states in the European integration process

The aim of the Master thesis Liberal intergovernmentalism: The role of small states in the European integration process is to test the applicability of the theory of Liberal intergovernmentalism to cases of small Member States of the European integration. Furthermore, the thesis aims to clarify the role of this states in the evolution of the European integrative cooperation. In order to reach the research objectives, the thesis uses case studies of Belgium and the Netherlands and it examines their motives and behaviour during the negotiation of treaties of the European primary legislation. The thesis is divided into chapters based on a chronological succession. Each chapter describes a time period before one of the treaties of the primary legislation, from the foundation of the European Economic Community until the signing of the Treaty of Amsterdam. The chapters deal with the motivation of small states for new negotiations and their claims in concrete areas of diplomacy. These claims are further compared with results of the negotiations in the context of the significance of the arranged agenda. Processes of Radicalisation: Foreign Fighters from Western Europe Who Fought for Islamic State

The awareness that the threat of terrorism is no longer linked only to the Middle East, but has home-grown nature and arisen from young people living on European soil, alarmed the public and subsequently provoked increased interest in radicalisation research. 9/11 or the European terrorist attacks in London or Madrid have led to the increasing media attention of the phenomenon of radicalisation occurring among young European Muslims. At the beginning of the new millennium, the threat stemming from terrorism embodied one of the most urgent security challenges, whether for politicians or scholars. The academic and political interest in research into factors that increase the risk of radicalisation to violent extremism has ended up in many efforts to grasp and properly define radicalisation, or to outline the expected pathways of radicalisation (Veldhuis, 2009: 1). In my thesis, I build on these efforts of prominent experts and I examine the effect of the factors contributing to violent radicalisation like social networks, dissatisfaction with current reality, moral outrage, family and individual characteristics including criminal backgrounds. Human trafficking: the role of the EU and the approaches to the problem in Czech Republic and in Belgium

This master thesis aims to unveil and examine the interplay between different actors in the fight against human trafficking. These are: the European Union, the Czech Republic and Belgium. A content (text) analysis of the primary sources gives the answers on how those actors work with the definition of human trafficking and to what extent the two member states implemented the EU Directive 2011/36/EU and other documents. In addition to conducting the content (text) analysis, creating a literature review and researching on different discourses linked to this phenomenon, this thesis include two semi-structured interviews with the representatives of the Czech Republic and Belgium. Those offer deeper insight into how those states form this fight in practice. They unveiled different aspects in their own approaches but also aspects that make their approach unique. This thesis examines also how the new strategy - the most important document framing the fight against human trafficking and the country's priorities - is adopted and what generally will those strategies include from the year 2020.

Reflection of the creators and works of the 1958 World Exhibition in Brussels in the Czechoslovak professional, cultural and specialised press

The subject of this diploma thesis is the analysis of statements about the authors and works of the Brussels World Exhibition in 1958 in the Czechoslovak specialized, cultural and professional press. As the first world exhibition after World War II, EXPO 58 was also the first cultural confrontation of the newly organized world. But in the turbulent year of 1958, standing at the very top of the "atomic age", it wasn't a superpower, but Czechoslovakia who was unexpectedly awarded the highest competition award and recognition. This success was one of the greatest breakthroughs of domestic cultural history, and fundamentally influenced the lifestyle and aesthetics of the following decades. The thesis focuses on magazines whose specialized focus informed the professional public about the events of the exhibition, while the selection of fields of these magazines copies the award-winning parts of the pavilion and program. The thesis also includes a historical excursion focusing on cultural and political events between the years 1948-1958 and setting the analyzed event in the context of world exhibitions with an emphasis on the 20th century. ODPOVĚDNOST VEŘEJNÉ MOCI ZA ŠKODU - OTÁZKA PRO CIVILNÍ, NEBO SPRÁVNÍ SOUDY? Abstrakt Tato diplomová práce se věnuje tématu odpovědnosti veřejné moci za škodu, speciálně potom otázce, které soudy by měly mít pravomoc rozhodovat o této otázce, jestli soudy civilní, nebo soudy správní. V první části práce jsou vymezeny dva základní přístupy ke zkoumané otázce, přístup soukromoprávní a přístup veřejnoprávní. Rovněž jsou formulovány základní aspekty, ve kterých lze zkoumat konkrétní právní úpravu této odpovědnosti. Jedná se o aspekty hmotněprávní a aspekty procesněprávní. V druhé části je analyzována současná česká úprava. Ta vychází ze soukromoprávního pojetí. Zejména je analyzováno, jak se v jednotlivých aspektech právní úpravy projevuje její soukromoprávní pojetí, a to v kontrastu s pojetím veřejnoprávním. V souladu s judikaturou Ústavního soudu a četnou literaturou je kladen důraz na to, že by právní úprava (a případně judikatura soudů) měla dostatečně zohledňovat specifickou povahu tohoto odpovědnostního vztahu. Kriticky jsou tak nahlédnuty jak aspekty hmotněprávní, tak především aspekty procesněprávní. Z provedené analýzy vyplývá, že velmi neuspokojivá je současná úprava tzv. předběžného projednání. The business environment of Belgium

The main aim of this thesis is to evaluate the business environment of Belgium from the point of view of Czech entities. The partial objectives are identifying the advantages and disadvantages of the environment, identifying any obstacles and complications that might occur when entering the Belgian market. To top of that the thesis contains the identification of perspective sectors that could be used by Czech entrepreneurs. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is general, it is about the business environment, charts of competitiveness and PEST analysis. The second chapter applies the findings from the first chapter to Belgium. The third chapter is about the business environment of Belgium from the point of view of Czech entrepreneurs. The fourth chapter is practical, including interviews about the topic.
