Air Traffic Flows Analysis
Šimíček, Martin ; Chlebek, Jiří (referee) ; Kujal, Tomáš (advisor)
ŠIMÍČEK, M. Air Traffic Flows Analysis. Brno: Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, 2013. 84 s. Supervisor Ing. Tomáš Kujal, Ph.D. The diploma thesis discusses the factors that affect routing and transport performance in the air transport. Besides the characteristics of these factors the main objective of this thesis is to quantitatively evaluate their level of dependence on the traffic performance of air transport. This is done by using the linear regression analysis. Based on this analysis, mathematical models of dependence of these factors on traffic performance are developed. The thesis also verifies the accuracy of these models and tries to find out which of them are usable and which are not. Their accuracy is mainly dependent on the selected track and on the type of airline.

Flying Routes Data Mining System from Web Portals
Hanák, František ; Koutný, Jiří (referee) ; Ruttkay, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelor`s thesis describes flying routes data mining system from web portals. It deals with questions of data mining from web portals, the UML language and its role within design of application and also with its architecture. The main part of thesis follows implementation of application, which is divided into parts windows service, administration web interface and web services. The real usage of application is for example as data source for other web applications, which provide central searching through all airlines and make easier selection of flights.
The effect of the covid-19 pandemic on the spatial organisation of air transport in Africa.
ZEMAN, Jan
The key topic of this bachelor thesis is the analysis of the spatial organization intracontinental of the air transport in Africa in 2019 and 2020 when it was affected by the covid 19 pandemic. In the introductory part, the bachelor thesis is presented, the objectives of the thesis are set and also hypotheses that will be later confirmed or refuted. The introductory part is followed by the theoretical part where the theory of the air transport is introduced, concepts related to this mode of the transport in general and then concepts that are typical for transport in Africa. In the second part of the thesis is a transition from the theoretical to the analytical part. The analytical part has two subchapters, the first deals with the analysis of the domestic air transport in 2019 when it was not yet limited by the covid 19 pandemic. The second subchapter is 2020 when the covid 19 pandemic has already greatly affected air transport. The data for processing the analysis are from the ICAO - International Civil Aviation Organization database. Based on this data, intracontinental air transport was compared between 2019 and 2020 when the covid 19 pandemic was spreading.
The Impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on air transport.
ŠIMSOVÁ, Šárka
The thesis deals with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on air transport. The main objective of this work is to identify the impacts and consequences in the field of aviation. Another objective is to evaluate the behavior and willingness of consumers to travel nowadays. Passengers are the most important element of the entire aviation industry process. Their insight into the situation, concerns, and measures in place can have a significant impact on the industry. The questionnaire survey can thus to some extent predict the development and use of air transport. For a better understanding of the issue itself, the work also includes in-depth interviews with flight attendants, who are either still employed or lost their jobs as a result of the pandemic. All inputs are evaluated and used to make key decisions, along with potential recommendations in air transport services.
COVID-19 and the aviation industry: Economic impacts and policy responses
Hrubý, Martin ; Balcar, Petr (advisor) ; Benáček, Vladimír (referee)
Bibliographic note HRUBÝ, Martin. COVID-19 and the Aviation Industry: Economic Impacts and Policy Responses 59p. Master thesis. Charles University, Faculty of Social Sciences. Institute of Political Studies. Supervisor Ing. Petr Balcar, M.Sc. Abstract This thesis uses a combination of trend analysis and MACBETH/MABAC multiple criteria decision-making methods to assess the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the financial health of the aviation industry in 2020. It also examines the efficiency of government measures adopted to mitigate such impact by comparing the results with a hypothetical scenario where no government aid was provided in 2020. The findings show that the novel coronavirus pandemic significantly increased the probability of default across the studied airline sample and had a strong negative impact on profitability. Furthermore, the data indicates that government support improved the overall financial fitness of the studied sample and significantly reduced the probability of bankruptcy while having only a minimal effect on airline profitability. We analyze the mechanisms behind the identified trends and provide explanations that indicate room for improvement in future research. The analysis of the marketing strategy of chosen airlines
Teimlová, Aneta ; Zamykalová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Gullová, Soňa (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis is the analysis of the marketing strategy of chosen airlines, Austrian Airlines, Emirates and Korean Air, and their comparison. The analysis is focused on the SWOT analysis and the marketing mix of these airlines. The result is the evaluation of the efficiency of current marketing strategies and the proposal of specific steps which could be applied to these marketing strategies. The next parts of the thesis are the characteristic and the history of the aviation, the characteristic of the marketing of services and the marketing research which helped to the evaluation of current marketing strategies and to new suggestions.
Airline alliances
Hrehor, Filip ; Huňak, James (advisor) ; Barvínek, Jakub (referee)
This bachelor`s thesis focuses on evaluating the passenger perceptions of various airline alliances and comparing individual alliances while even utilizing the responses of passengers who don`t utilize services provided by airline alliances. The thesis draws from publicly available information on airline alliances, which are categorized by type of cooperation. Moreover, the thesis incorporates the history, evolution, and the outlook of airline alliances.
The position of Emirates Airline in the aviation industry and its customer service
Berger, Vít ; Král, Petr (advisor) ; Bockstefel, Jan (referee)
In this thesis I focus on Emirates Airlines, in particular by identifying key factors that led to the acquisition of the current position in the global aviation market. Till the foundation of Emirates Airlines the aviation industry in this region practically did not exist, and therefore it was not too interesting market in general. Using the research of case study at the thesis, I first examined how and why the airline was founded and subsequently described the uniqueness of this particular case. Partial aims are to answer the research questions and confirm or refute the initial hypothesis. In conclusion, I summarized all the key factors and assess their uniqueness and potential limitations when applied to similar cases in the aviation sector.
