Specifics of managing people in multi-location schools

1 ABSTRACT The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of delegation and internal communication in multi- site schools. It reflects current developments and upcoming changes in regional education system that result from strategic documents of the Czech Republic. Among other things, these changes include also management of schools that is pledged to receive systemic support. In this context, the merging of small schools into larger units is being considered, primarily for reasons of greater financial efficiency. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis explains the raison d'etre of multi-sites schools and presents the context of current developments. It also tackles explanation of key concepts of delegation and communication. In case of delegation, it describes its conditions and course. It describes the conditions and process of delegation, defines the concept of internal communication and describes its most common forms. The practical part analyses practices of selected school principals and describes their method of delegation and communication in a particular school. Headmaster's competency at secondary technical schools with technical focus

The diploma thesis deals with the current topic of headmaster's competence at secondary vocational schools, technically oriented. The thesis is based on the general theory of competencies and competency models. It aims to identify the headmaster's competencies at the technical vocational school in Prague and based on these findings create the competence model. On the basis of the literature search, a research was carried out, its purpose was to find out what competences the those people possess, i.e. to identify these competencies and to compile a competence model. The questionnaire survey technique was used as the first, data collection technique. Within the questionnaire survey, all headmasters and deputy headmasters were approached at 15 secondary technical schools in Prague. The third group of respondents was consisted of the founder of these schools. Through the questionnaire survey, we determined the importance of individual competencies. The second used technique was a semi-structured interview with selected representatives of respondent groups (headmasters and deputy headmasters). The interview was used to verify observable formulations that are part of the competency model. Bullying in schools through the eyes of school principals

The diploma thesis deals with bullying and conflicts in the school environment, specifically in the environment of kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and how the principals of these schools view bullying. Bullying in the school environment is a frequently discussed phenomenon and a problem that needs to be addressed, hence it was chosen as a current topic for this thesis. The theoretical part describes the knowledge about conflicts and bullying - definitions of conflict and bullying, classification, manifestations and causes, methods of solution and prevention, as well as history. The empirical part deals with in depth interviews with school principals, who answer questions about bullying at their school as part of qualitative research. The possible occurrence of bullying and conflicts, the awareness and experience of school principals, as well as their views on bullying and conflicts in education are identified. Furthermore, the methods of prevention and solutions that the school chooses are found out. The work is based on methodological approaches of grounded theory. Strategic management of school in the context of six-year term

The aim of the thesis is to determine whether there are limits that may restrict kindergarten headmaster in the strategic management of the school, considering a six-year term in office. The thesis consists of two main parts. In the theoretical part, the concepts such as strategic management of the school, position of the kindergarten headmaster and a six-year term in office are explained. The research part describes the processes at the school. Methods of observation, interview, questionnaires and document analyses, are used in order to collect the data which are coded, categorized, and then used to form a story.
