Czech School Inspection's reports as a source of information on breaking the legal requirements of safety and welfare of students in schools and educational facilities

The diploma work is focused on the field of security and health protection in the school facilities. It is based on the analysis of the legal regulations and it compares them to the information published in the inspectional, annual and thematic reports of the Czech School Inspection. The research part deals with the analysis of the public and closed documents of the Czech School Inspection. It refers to the most common abuse of the legal rules in the comparison to the facts published in the mentioned reports of the Czech School Inspection. The diploma work contains the total view of the legal regulations targeted on the field of security and health protection and determines the duties which are obligatory for the headmasters. Focused on the documents the work finds out the most frequent mistakes and examples of breaking the rules, it searches for the cause of the cases and sugests the ways how to prevent from the mistakes.

TITLE: Education and Development of Beginning Employees at the Czech School Inspectorate AUTHOR: Marcela Koháková Lokvencová DEPARTMENT: School Management Centre SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Irena Lhotková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The aim of my bachelor thesis is to map the education and development of new employees within the Czech school inspectorate - school inspectors and control officials. The theoretical part contains a summary of professional education and the development of employees. The following part is dedicated to the introduction of characteristics and the organizational structure of the Czech school inspectorate. At the same time, the form of introductory education needed by starters is described as follows. The practical part contains an analysis of survey findings gathered through both questionnaires completed by school inspectors and auditors who entered the inspectorate between the years 2008 and 2010 and interviews with the heads of the regional inspectorates. The conclusion identifies shortcomings in the introductory education conception of new employees within the organization. It also offers possible suggestions for solutions for structure improvement of in the initial stages of induction training. Creation of educational programs and editing possibilities

The Bachelor degree dissertion consists of the creation and possible changes in primary school educational programmes. Based on the knowledge of the conclusions of the thematic reports of the Czech School Inspectorate and the questionnaire survey mapping out the changes in school educational programmes and draws attention to their most frequent shortcomings. The research part of the dissertation focuses on the findings of the most frequently changed area of school educational programmes further to internal and external assessment. The frequency of the changes is subsequently compared with the assessment of compliance of school educational programmes with the Framework Education Programme for primary education of the Czech School Inspectorate. Further to the current situation a section is also included in the dissertation applying to the proposed amendment of the School Act applying to changes in the creation of framework educational and school educational programmes. The dissertation concludes with a draft concise manual for primary school headmasters containing recommendations for creating and changing school education programmes based on the experience of school headmasters and the assessments of the Czech School Inspectorate.
Educational system from the perspective of inspection reports

The dissertation focuses on the assessment of the content of the inspection reports of the Czech School Inspectorate (CSI) in the context of the main stategical documents concerning the Czech educacional policy since the publication of the National Programme of the Development of Education in the Czech Republic (The White Book) in 2001. The thesis comprises of the historical introduction of the state supervision over schools in Bohemia and the extent of competency of the Czech School Inspectorate, which is currently conducting the schools external evaluation. The CSI provides the feedback to the schools through the inspection reports and the feedback to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports through the annual reports. The dissertation examines the compliance of the contents of the inspection reports and the strategical documents of the Ministry of Education.
Impact of ČŠI on practice activities of nursery schools

The disertation focuses on Czech School Inspectorate (CSI) and its impact on the preschool institutions in the region of Lanškroun. What are the criteria used in evaluating the work of kindergarten, what laws are governed in their work and what the implications of its findings are to the school management and decision-making processes in them. The thesis comrises the historical introduction of the state supervision over schools, the development of CSI, the comparison of school inspection systems in other EU countries, the extent of competency of the Czech School Inspectorate. The research shows that the Czech School Inspectorate has the positive impact on management in the kindergartens, it gives the essential feedback to the kindergarten headmasters. The headmasters consider the CSI evaluation to be the further step in their work. The determined conclusions are the results of the questionnaire to the headmasters, the analysis of inspection reports as the outcome of CSI activities in selected kindergartens in the region of Lanškroun.
