Employment of persons with intellectual disabilities - the development of opportunities and importance of job placement in the lives of people living in homes for people with disabilities

The thesis deals with the employment opportunities of people with intellectual disabilities who live in homes for people with disabilities. In this context, it describes changes in attitudes toward people with mental disabilities, development of institutional care and public-support programs of employing these people. The research focuses on changes occurring in the field of job placement, and examine whether and how these changes are perceived by clients of homes. Moreover, it was monitoring what importance the people with intellectual disabilities attached to work. The content analysis of documents of The Home for People with Intellectual Disabilities "Pramen" in Mnichov, interviews and case studies of clients of the home were used as research methods. Description of development changes in the area of working application of clients, and outcomes of the interviews may be beneficial for workers engaged in direct support of clients in the area of employment.
Sexuality and relationships of adults with mental disability

The goal of this thesis was to create a manual for education of adults with mild mental disability in the field of sexuality and relationships. The manual is aimed to provide help to emoployees of Skok do života, o.p.s. in Hradec Králové. First part is focused on theoretical clarification of terms such as mental retardation, adulthood, sexuality or relationships. This part also tries to gather theoretical resources for education of adults with mental disability. The second part of this thesis presents the Manual for education of adults with mild mental disability in the field of sexuality and relationships. This document is based on a long-term participative observation of a group during realization of education in the field of sexuality and relationships. Advantages and consecvences of using puppet in drama education of mentaly disabled people

Objective of this thesis is to get closer and clarify advantages of drama educational influence by working with mental disabled people. It refers to the advantages of working with puppet within educational process and it shows possibilities in progress of single character elements of people with mental disablement. Thesis is divided into three parts. First part is focused to theory of drama-education and dramatherapy. First part thinks also of historical context of origin of alternative pedagogical trends and describes the influence of drama education on single character elements. Second part dedicates deeply to benefits of puppet in connection with general personal character progress. Third one, practical part, describes drama-educational lessons and theatre project named "Where the stars fall". The benefit of both styles by working on progress of single character elements of mental disabled people, is pointed at the close.
Burnout, focusing on the burn-up for teachers

The thesis begins with specification and characteristics of chosen topic. The introduction covers description and comparison of definitions from various authors. Burn-out process is covered exactly here including its beginning and continuance. High detail is focused on prevention of this syndrome stressing social support, psychological hygiene and human relaxation. There is mentioned a list of several professions which are endangered by burn-out most notably describing the profession of teacher in the largest analysis. Each chapter also highlights the impact on concrete part of burn-out process and again provides high detail for the role of teacher. Phenomenon of stress is covered specifically mentioning its part how it can start burn-out process. The theoretical part of this thesis also covers ways how to detect presence of burn-out syndrome. Practical part compares level of vulnerability to burn-out between teachers on two different schools, where first school is based in the capital city of Prague and the second one in Middle Bohemia. The results from each school are described and analyzed separately at first and then compared together. The whole thesis ends with final thoughts based on compared outcomes from the practical part.
Human Dependance as part of Personal Assistance

The thesis "The Human Relationship in Personal Assistance" will address the interpersonal relationship which arises between an individual with disabilities relying on personal assistance and their personal assistant. The aim of this work is to explore and describe the nature of this relationship, the roles which are fulfilled by the two players and last but not least to define situations in personal assistance, which may frequently give rise to conflict between the personal assistant and the client. In the theoretical portion of the work basic information about personal assistance will be given, physical characteristics of individual disabilities and their effect and a delineation of the idea of relationship. The practical portion will proceed in the form of an examination of ten interviews with personal assistants and personal assistance clients. Its results will be complemented by other findings from literature and personal experience from the author of the work. This work should serve people who operate in the field of personal assistance, whether in the role of personal assistant, a client or other people in order to better understand the laws regarding assistance and to avoid unpleasant situations and conflicts.
Thesis looks at how childhood in the SOS children's village affecrts the life in adulhood.

Thesis looks at how childhood in the SOS children's village affects the life in adulthood. It is dividend into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes the SOS children's villages, alternative family care in the Czech Republic, the family as an institution and the laws related to these topics. In the practical part of the research is influencing the respondents living in the SOS children's village. Investigation groups are the biological children of parents guardians and children in foster care in the SOS children's village Doubí. At the end of the thesis case studies are given in the form of interviews with former inhabitants of SOS children's villages Doubí.
Assessment of Adaptive Behaviour in Adults with Intellectual Disabilities

The subject of this thesis is measurement of adaptive behavior of adults with intellectual disabilities. Theoretical chapters include topics as adulthood of people with intellectual disabilities, assessment of adults with intellectual disabilities, adaptive behavior and its measurement. The final chapter of theoretical part involves information about social services with emphasis on a new legislation. Second part of the thesis contains analysis of two survey investigating measurement of adaptive behavior of adults with intellectual disabilities in two kinds of social services - personal assistance and social rehabilitation. First survey investigates characteristics of measurement in these social services on nationwide level. The aim of second survey is to examine an assessment tool designed for needs of concrete social services provider.
