Development of literacy using the RWCT methods

The thesis comprehends the topic of reading literacy development using methods of Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking (RWCT) at the first stage of primary education. The background of RWCT program is described in the first part of the thesis, along with defining the field of reading literacy. Several methods of the program are more thorougly analyzed, including their positive impact on development of the individual aspects of reading literacy. The research part examines the possibility of various constituents of reading literacy to be developed using RWCT methods, and the circumstances that have to be met in order to achieve it. The main focus of analysis lies in the benefits of reading workshop technique, and its application in overall development of reading literary and reading itself.
Impulses of Decroly's pedagogy useful for the czech education

The main topic of my diploma thesis is a pedagogy of the Belgian doctor and pedagogue Ovide Decroly. The theoretical part includes a classification of alternative approaches to education, Decroly's short biography, description of the pedagogy and thematic education in Decroly's school and in the "Step by Step" programme. In the practical part I discuss the application of Decroly's thematic education in the Step by Step programme in the classes of kindergarten and elementary school. The results of my thesis may become useful for those who intent to study Decroly's life and pedagogy and acquire a basic knowledge of the topic. They can also inspire in the work with the thematic education in your own class.
The Education of Children with Special Educational Needs in Primary Schools

This dissertation is concentrated on the education of children with special educational needs. It works at the school integration process which lies in an incremental bonding of children from the special class with the intact majority. It analyses in detail dificulties of the move of children from the special class created in the primary basic school to the ordinary class of the secondary basic school and concentrates on ambitions, worries, opinions and experience of every single pupil, his or her parents and teachers. In order to obtain opinions of the school integration there have been used some questionnaires and realized some interviews. Afterward the obtained information has been evaluated. Multileveled schooľs teacher specific qualities and professional preparation

The thesis titled Multileveled school's teachers specific qualities and professional preparation focuses on finding specific qualities of multileveled schools, qualities of their teachers in the area of professional competence and quality of institutions for training future teachers. The theoretical background is applied to the research section. Depth group interview, observation and analysis of written sources reveals the essence of teachers' work at multileveled school with all its specifics. Summarize the results and try to find the relations between the observed and the specifics of their qualities. Can not say unequivocally that the multileveled schools'specifics and specific teachers skills are quality guarantee. The teacher always depends his knowledge, skills, values, attitudes and personality traits and the initial training and continuing professional development, as consider the quality of their work and how to proceed further development. Even though specific teacher's job may be a part of a potential professional qualities that teachers want to develop.
A Long-term Project in a Primary School

Pupill's portfolio as an evaluation instrument

The thesis has theoretically - researching nature. The theoretical part deals with school evaluation and its altemative methods that are gradually being used in our educational system. Self-assessment and techniques of working with pupiľs portfolio have been discussed in detail. The research findings, that have been learnt during the process of surveying the above mentioned portfolio and comparing methods of its application at different schools and by several teachers, are presented in practical part of the thesis. The research has also scrutinized the presentation portfolio at the end of the 5th grade of elementary school and the working portfolio at the end of school attendance elaborated under guidance of Mrs Vladimíra S.
Procedures for the development of literacy in terms of the small school

The subject of this thesis is the issue of the development of literacy skills of pupils in primary education through conditions offered by small schools. The aim is to analyze the possibility of developing reading literacy among pupils in the first grade of primary school in terms of the small schools; setup and subsequent use of good conditions for the development of reading. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part are defined the theoretical background related to the above mentioned issues. Custom research was carried out through action research, completed a questionnaire that the children completed at the beginning and end of the period. The main objective was to determine the initial state of literacy in groups of pupils and through changes in education, the creation of good conditions and use innovative methods to monitor the process of the individual activities of students, capturing deficiencies and seek alternative approaches and solutions. Teachers' competencies to the progress of reading comprehension at a primary school

This diploma thesis deals with the competencies of teachers in order to develop passion for reading in pupils at primary schools (up to Year 5). The first chapter discusses the technical terminology which all teachers who desire to encourage reading in pupils should be familiar with. The second chapter details the competencies of teachers focusing on reading. The thesis subsequently concentrates on the options which teachers have at their disposal to encourage reading in schools, i.e. what strategies and methods can be chosen and what reading projects teachers can participate in with their pupils. The last chapter describes other conditions that can also affect the development of reading, such as working with pupils with specific learning disabilities (SLD), safe environment or further education of teachers and educators, which I personally find absolutely essential. The aim of the practical part of this study is to determine how beginner and experienced teachers develop pupils' passion for reading and to compare their competencies. In order to find the answer, qualitative research methods were used - observation and interviews with teachers. The thesis "Beginning teacher from the point of view of dealing with professional qualities" reacts to the actual theme of seeking professional competencies of teachers and of suitable evaluation methods. It focuses on the work of beginning teachers and their professional quality and on further incentives for their professional growth. At the same time identifies what helps novice teachers during the first years of teaching activities. In the theoretical part knowledge and opinions of specialists are summarized and organized into three chapters. The experts were selected according to themes: teacher quality, professional competence, teaching profession, training of teachers and their support in practice. The practical part presents qualitative research which through the research methods (questionnaire, interview, data analysis, case study) describes the reality of beginning teachers work in primary school. The research try to answer the question: How teachers in the early years of practice manage its activities to evaluate their professional quality, what are dealing with and what helps them to be a good teacher.
