Čanigová, Gabriela ; Špačková, Klára (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
Gabriela Čanigová Teaching focused on the development of foreigners` language skills - benefits and disadvantages at work with class in Science in 2nd grade ABSTRACT The work will deal with the development of language skills of pupils with different mother tongue and evaluation of the possible benefits of including such focused activities in teaching the whole class. As many research surveys show, weakened language skills in the mother tongue are not only for pupils with a different mother tongue. Adjusting teaching to pupils with different foreigners language could enrich other pupils as well. On the other hand, it is possible that these activities will be too simple for most pupils, which could lead to a loss of interest. Another possible risk appears to be time consuming, which could lead to the need to reduce the scope and possibly the content of education. The research will be carried out in two research groups in the form of experimental teaching of selected topics of the subject Prvouka. In the experimental group the teaching (explanation, work with text, etc.) will be adapted to the language skills of pupils with different foreigners language. Such oriented education will emphasize an increased level of graphic visualization of the content of teaching and creation of space for communication and...
Self-harm in children
Tvrdoňová, Anna ; Procházková, Jana (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
Title: Self-harm in children Abstract This thesis deals with the topic of self-injury of adolescents. Its goal is to analyze the adolescents' view of self-injury, how the youth themselves define self-injury and what they perceive to be self-injurious behavior. The work is divided into two core parts. The first section focuses on the definition of the self-injury and reviews both current Czech and international literature. Particular attention is devoted to the inconsistent terminology, definitions and presentation of the recent classification system of self- injury. The second part is devoted to the research of explorative character. The data have been collected through a survey using anonymous self report questionnaire from 73 pupils between the ages of 13-15 and they were analysed using categorization and the method of factor and cluster analysis. Factor analysis extracted ten factors which served as the meaningful units and can be interpreted as adolescents' viewpoints of self- injury. Findings suggest the adolescents consider not only direct destruction of one's own body as example self-injury but also behavior that indirectly leads to negative health outcomes (eating disorders, smoking, abuse of alcohol). Interestingly, the youth reported ambivalent viewpoint of self-injury. They reported not only the...

Solnařová, Jana ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
Rigorózní práce Psychometric quality of the classroom relationship questionnaire and it's modification ABSTRACT The rigorous thesis follows the topic of a diploma thesis which deals with relations in gender-unbalanced classes. A non-standardized questionnaire of relationships in classes was used in the diploma thesis and possible gaps and shortcomings appeared during its elaboration. The questionnaire is the subject of this thesis. The theoretical part maps the influence of gender stereotypes on development of individuals and character of relationships in coeducated and separated classes. The empirical part works with 324 collected questionnaires, and concist of two parts. Questionnaires in the first part were psychometrically processed and a due to insufficient reliability of some items, a modification of the questionnaire was proposed. The second part consists of detailed analysis of the collected data. Results show the influence of several variables on relationships in the classes. Pupils have the best relationships with each other in primary schools while the worst relationships are in vocational and secondary vocational schools. Relationships between individuals worsen with age, especially in a subgroup of girls. Girls are considerably influenced by gender composition of the class. They have the best...

The theoretical part deals mainly with the possibilities of inclusion and its benefits in the school system, manifestations, and disorders associated with Asperger's syndrome, but also by defining basic concepts such as autism spectrum disorder, Asperger's syndrome, integration, and inclusion. Furthermore, the diagnosis of this spectrum of disorders according to the world criteria ICD 10 and DSM5 and ICD 11, which will come into force in the Czech Republic in 2022. The theoretical part also discusses the methods of approach and the position of teaching assistant. The empirical part of the thesis contains two case studies and evaluation of the success of the inclusion of pupils in mainstream schools based on qualitative research, in which I apply the knowledge from the theoretical part. The methods that were used for data collection and analysis include observation, interview, and expert documents. The research showed interesting results when most of the information and knowledge from the theoretical part was confirmed KEYWORDS Inclusion, Asperger's syndrome, elementary school, first grade, method...
Analysis of Solving Math Problems in Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (and its relation to cognitive processing of students)
Sotáková, Hana ; Rendl, Miroslav (advisor) ; Pavelková, Isabella (referee) ; Bazalová, Barbora (referee)
The dissertation thesis addresses the topic of mathematical tasks processing in students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and problematic points of their solution. The aim of this work is to delineate methods that ASD students use to approach these tasks and solve them. We focus primarily on whether it is possible to identify different procedures than those used by typically developing students, and whether these procedures show specifics corresponding to distinct cognitive processes. In the theoretical part we provide a theoretical background for the study. Firstly, we create a frame to understand the complexity of autism, furthermore we deal with psychological theories examining the topic, and describe specifics of development of ASD students during their adolescence. Thereafter, we reflect on studies addressing mathematical skills of ASD students. Mathematics is considered as their great strength, however is not sufficiently scrutinized, as highlighted by various international studies (for example Oswald et al., 2016). The empiric part is based on qualitative methodology and pursues comparisons of mathematical tasks processing between six ASD students and typically developing peers. We strive to document differences and common points in solutions as well as to analyze cognitive processes of...
Attitude to motherhood of university students
Marková, Dominika ; Presslerová, Pavla (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
This bachelor thesis entitled Attitude to Motherhood of University Students discusses the current phenomenon of motherhood from the perspective of a specific group of women. Although parenthood is still perceived to be one of the main life goals that developmental psychology is expected to achieve in young adulthood, available research studies as in today's society it is not usual to address maternity issues in relation to university students. The dilemmas associated with parenting and career planning are particularly noticeable in this group of women. Women often solve these issues by themselves so the society cannot recognize that maternity issues of university students are very current. The author of this qualitatively oriented study looks for answers to a wide range of sub-research questions. Through the deep analysis and interpretation of respondents' testimonies, the author of this thesis reveals the attitude to motherhood of university students, introducing personal factors that play an important role in making decision and planning parenting, as well as the psychosocial factors influence the university students in this crucial decision. The combined type of design was choosen as the research strategy for the purpose of this thesis. The main method of data collection is a method of...

Lampová, Klára ; Pavlas Martanová, Veronika (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to look into the schooling and counselling trajectory of children with Asperger's syndrome. It is viewed from the childrens' perspective, and includes their parents' testimonies. Subsequently the thesis comments upon convergences and differences that appear in their respective statements. Data is collected using semi- structured interviews and is a qualitative research. Based on the analysis of the results, the findings are presented in the following areas: "what was before" (ie what preceded the diagnosis); school attendance; communicating with classmates and teachers; relationships at school; experience with consultation facilities and professional assistance; interests and similarities or differences of the views of the child and the parent. The most frequent topic mentioned among the results was the lack of expertise on Asperger's syndrome, which led to frequent misunderstandings or conflicts with a teaching staff. The results revealed also other themes such as: the need to tolerate individual conditions of the child during a class; deficits in communication and social interactions; positive perception of professional assistance and of cooperation of experts with the school. The thesis is also focused on the theoretical definition of Asperger syndrome in relation to...

Preschool Child in a Facility for Children Requiring Immediate Help
Severová, Veronika ; Sotáková, Hana (advisor) ; Kučerová, Olga (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with a case study of a particular facility for children requiring immediate help and a case report of selected preschool children who are located in the mentioned facility. In the theoretical part I characterize child in preschool age, its development and needs. I also focus on the theme of CAN syndrome, family disorders and foster care. Furthermore, I summarize general information about the ZDVOP facility in the Czech Republic, its content and aim. The main method of research is the case study of an ZDVOP based in Prague, which I created on the basis of data analysis, direct observation, taking part in routine operation and interview with a social worker. The case study contains a brief description of the facility and a detailed record of the three selected children, focusing on the overall prosperity of the child, his actions, coping with the situation and experiencing separation from a loved one. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to observe the psychological and physical condition of the selected preschool child in ZDVOP during the whole stay. Furthermore, to monitor his behavioral changes, the relationship between him and his loved ones and look for circumstances that affect the child while staying in the facility. Based on this goal, I deal with research questions.
