Janovská, Kateřina
Sooty bark disease is caused by a parasitic fungus Cryptostroma corticale (Ellis & Ever-hart) Gregory & Waller, which survives in its host (mostly sycamore maple) in engophy-tic stage. After exposing the host to stress, especially drought stress, its strong pathoge-nic effects prevailes, which may be fatal for the host. At the research area in Soběšice, aerobiological sampling took place from spring to autumn using automatic volumetric spore trap. DNA extraction and real-time PCR were used to determine the number of C. corticale spores in the samples. The effect of meteorological factors on the spore amounts was determined. More spores were observed in the spring months than in the autumn months under similar conditions.
Parasitic strategies based on behavioral manipulation of the arthropod host
Janovská, Kateřina ; Straka, Jakub (advisor) ; Votýpka, Jan (referee)
It is well known that parasites can alter the host's behaviour for their benefit or the benefit of their offspring. Arthropods often fall victim to these parasites. Although the parasites of Arthropods come from many different groups (e.g., helminths, insects, fungi, viruses, etc.), we can find some similarities in their strategies. The specific methods and processes of behavioural manipulation are unique to each parasite and depend on whether the arthropod is the parasite's final host or an intermediate host/vector. However, they often lead to the same goal, e.g., to be eaten by another host, to allow the parasite to reproduce or to protect the parasite's offspring. Whether these changes in the host's behaviour are a part of the parasite's life strategy or only a manifestation of an adaptive response of the host remains a question. This thesis discuss specific cases of behavioural manipulation in parasitized arthropods and the common motives parasites use in manipulation. Keywords: behaviour manipulation, Arthropods parasite, parasitoid, host's behaviour, host- parasite interaction, adaptive response
Posttraumatic stress in women after premature birth in psychosocial contexts
Janovská, Kateřina ; Sobotková, Daniela (advisor) ; Čepický, Pavel (referee)
The thesis discusses premature birth as a set of events that can lead to development of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or that can support the development of partial symptoms of PTSD. Since the topic of PTSD in connection with premature birth is not yet anchored in the Czech environment, the theoretical part of the work is based on previous foreign findings. The thesis focuses on the circumstances of the development of PTSD in women after premature birth, summarizes the findings on the occurrence and severity of PTSD symptoms in this group of women, discusses the negative effects of PTSD symptomatology, some space is devoted to the possibilities of diagnosing PTSD in the context of premature birth. The research part is based on a quantitative cross-sectional survey, which showed significantly higher scores of PTSD severity in the group of women after premature delivery compared to women after delivery at term. In the group of women after premature birth, PTSD severity scores were significantly associated to some anamnestic data (gestational week of the child's birth, child's birth weight, length of the child's postpartum hospitalization, operative delivery management). A higher significant association of PTSD severity scores was found between women's perceived social support after preterm...

Author: Bc. Kateřina Janovská Title: Evaluation of dynamic postural stability of orienteers suffering chronic ankle instability Objectives: The aim of the study was to assess dynamic postural stability in orienteers aged 15-25 years suffering from chronic ankle instability, who compete at the national level of orienteering competitions, and to compare the obtained data with a control group, which consisted of orienteers of the same age with no history of ankle joint injury. Methods: 29 orienteering runners of age 15-25 years participated in the measurement. 28 probands were included in the study, of which 8 probands formed the control group and 20 probands formed the research group. The measurement took place in a physiotherapy outpatient clinic during 2022. All probands completed a short anamnestic questionnaire and were examined with tests for ankle joint instability and hypermobility tests according to the Beighton Score. Both groups of probands underwent a single measurement of dynamic postural stability on the Y-balance test. Microsoft Excel 365 and GraphPad Prism (version 9.3.1) were used to evaluate the obtained data. The results were processed using parametric unpaiered T-test model, non-parametric unpaired T-test (Mann Whitney test) and Chi squared test. A p value < 0,05 was used to...

Title: Filtre bubbles and facebook pages about climate crisis Author: Mgr. Kateřina Janovská Institute: Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship Supervisor: Mgr. Josef Šlerka, Ph.D. Abstract: The climate crisis is one of the biggest challenges society is facing today. And while its existence is subject to scientific consensus, it is a highly polarising issue among the public. The social network Facebook, which has become a platform for spreading misinformation and filter bubbles, has also played its part. This thesis analyses the potential risk of filter bubbles being created on Facebook pages that address the topic of climate change - with a focus on similar pages suggestions. It categorizes these pages according to their stance on the existence of anthropocentric climate change.
