This master thesis aims to describe the methods, form of work and educational strategies used in teaching gifted students and to verify their effectiveness in practice though action - based teacher research. The teoretical part contains the results of czech and foreign literature research concerning the issue of gifted education. It focuses mainly on methods, forms and content of education, but also defining the basic concepts of be gifted and be talented, models of giftedness, characteristics and typologies of gifted pupils, their motivation and attitude of teacher, who plays an essential role in the education process of (not only) gifted pupils. The practical part contains the course and evaluation of action teacher research, where I will apply theoretical knowledge to primary school classes with gifted children and verify their effectiveness in practice. The research is divided into two cycles. The first cycle is focused on observing teaching. The other one cycle includes the planning, implementation and reflection of self teaching, into which the theoretical knowledge is applied. The research results showed that the most of knowledge gained in theoretical part of the thesis was verified as effective. Especially creation of own materials, choice of interesting and actual topics. Key words:...
Time management of managers of small businesses
ZEMANOVÁ, Lenka
The purpose of this thesis is to analyse and evaluate time management of managers of small businesses and to propose optimal use of their time. Specifically, the thesis focuses on time management of managers of small businesses in the sector of communications and information services. The first part of the thesis focuses on theoretical description of 10 techniques, which are considered to be helpful in pursuing more effective time management. The next part of the thesis is practical and it is focused on the aim of the thesis. Two methods of analysis were used for this purpose. Firstly, it was questionnaire survey focused on analysis of basic characteristics of selected file's time management. Based on that, I was able to prepare an approximate proposal for making time management of this sample more effective. In order to develop a recommendation that will be tested in practice, the effectiveness of this proposal was examined through a second research method and thus in-depth interviews. Two detailed individual interviews with each respondent were carried out. In the first one, the specific situation of each of the respondents was analysed and the universal plan was adapted according to their individual needs and proposed to them. Managers followed the plan for few weeks and then gave me feedback on its effectiveness through a second in-depth interview. The final recommendation is divided into 2 sub-sections. All steps in the plan are covered in detail. The proposal contains visual example of righty scheduled day.
Developement of storytelling skills in preschoolers with the use of short film
ZEMANOVÁ, Lenka
Engaging and attractive media content is being exposed to young children since an early age. However, the impact of the media on their development is questionable. There are certain ways how to use media in order to have a positive impact on child's development If reasonable ways of handling media are found. Bachelor thesis addresses the use of digital media, film, in a nursery and aims to develop storytelling skills in preschoolers via the use of a short film. The study concludes, that there can be detected some improvements in storytelling skills of preschoolers by means of the program with the use of short films.
Tors and their microforms
Zemanová, Lucie ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Vočadlová, Klára (referee)
This Bachelor thesis is focused on the general characteristics of tors and their microforms. There are two theories of tor's origin: one-stage origin and two-stage origin. Tors are developed all around the world, most often in temperate climatic zone. They show a wide range of sizes, shapes and locations. Tors are found on hill summits and on valley-sides. Tors occur on various lithologies, particularly on crystalline rocks. Many microforms can be found on the surface of tors. The most common microforms include weathering pits, tafoni, karren and honeycombs. The stage of their development enables microforms to be utilised for relative dating. Key words: tors, microforms, deep weathering, slope retreat
basic characterization of human enzymes DHRS7B and DHRS7C
Tučková, Tereza ; Zemanová, Lucie (advisor) ; Matoušková, Petra (referee)
Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biochemical Sciences Candidate: Tereza Tučková Supervisor: RNDr. Lucie Zemanová, Ph.D. Title: Basic characterization of human enzymes DHRS7B and DHRS7C Human enzymes of the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase (SDR) superfamily play an important role in wide range of biochemical pathways. They are involved in metabolism of lipids, saccharides, amino acids, steroid hormones, retinoids, prostaglandins etc. Besides physiological processes, they take part in development of several serious diseases, e.g. hormone-dependent cancer, metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus. Moreover, SDR enzymes contribute to biotransformation of xenobiotics. Nevertheless, approximately 30 % of SDRs remain completely uncharacterized. Human dehydrogenase/reductase SDR family members 7B (DHRS7B) and 7C (DHRS7C) belong to poorly characterized members of the SDR superfamily. According to in silico predictions, both enzymes are membrane bound and involved in reductive reactions. The aim of this study was to determine their basic biochemical properties. The results show that both enzymes interact with the membrane of endoplasmic reticulum and face cytosol. The pilot screening of enzymatic activity was performed. Reducing activity was detected towards e.g....
Oxidative damage to proteins
Bártová, Jana ; Boušová, Iva (advisor) ; Zemanová, Lucie (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biochemical Sciences Candidate: Jana Bártová Supervisor: PharmDr. Iva Boušová, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Oxidative damage to proteins Hypochlorous acid is a strong oxidant, which is used by phagocytic cells to kill ingested bacteria. Surrounding structures including proteins may be damaged in case the content of a phagocyte is spilled to the vicinity. Catechins belong to a group of flavonoids whose antioxidant properties were demonstrated in many studies. My diploma thesis was focused on a potential effect of eight naturally occurring derivatives of catechin towards oxidative damage of human serum albumin (HSA) by hypochlorous acid. I used two spectrophotometric (determination of carbonyl groups and chloramines) and three electrophoretic methods (native PAGE, SDS-PAGE, immunoblotting). Dependence of an antioxidant effect on its concentration (0-3 mM) was observed during determination of chloramines and obtained data were used for calculation of EC50 values of individual catechins using program GraphPad Prism. The most effective compound was catechin whose EC50 was 4.8 µM. Results suggest that antioxidant ability decreases with increasing number of hydroxyl groups in the molecule of flavonoid. Carbonyl groups are a...
