The effectiveness of social cognitive training in adults with ADHD symptoms

1 Abstract This thesis deals with the topic of social cognition and the possibilities of its training in adults with ADHD symptoms. The specifics of ADHD in adulthood are presented, along with the concrete manifestations of ADHD in relation to psychosocial functioning and emotions. The thesis follows with the topic of social cognition in ADHD and describes the specific domains of social cognition in which people with ADHD show deficits. Then the possibilities of social cognition training are presented along with existing training programs, including related psychosocial interventions, and the current state of knowledge around social cognition training in people with ADHD is described. The empirical part of the thesis contains the proposal of a social cognition training program for adults with ADHD symptoms, including the proposal for confirming its effectiveness. The Development Programs for College Graduates

The bachelor thesis will focused on a specific area of talent management in organizations, which is represented by trainee programs for university graduates. The aim of the bachelor's thesis will be to describe the current form, implementation and management of trainee programs for university graduates in organizations. Attention will be paid to the current concept of talent and the development of talent management in organizations, methods of identification and processes of talent acquisition, methods of talent development and the characteristics of trainee programs in organizations. The bachelor's thesis will include a qualitative survey, the aim of which will be to analyze the current offer of trainee programs for university graduates in five large organizations in the field of production and trade operating in Prague and Central Bohemia Region. Research will be carried out by analyzing data obtained from the career websites of organizations and interviews with HR professionals. A partial aim of the survey will be to find out the most frequently used methods of obtaining and developing graduates with regard to achieving the goals of selected organizations. Analysis of the Further Education Offer in the Field of Leadership in the Czech Republic

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the offer of further education in the field of leadership in the Czech Republic. The theoretical basis of the work is the professional development of approaches to leadership and managerial competencies. First, the area of leadership, the development of theories of management and leadership, and the functions, roles and competencies of managers are defined and described. Further, attention is paid to the forms and methods of education and development of managers, further education in the context of lifelong learning and the development of managerial competencies. The aim of the empirical survey is to determine the percentage of selected managerial competencies in the courses of sixty educational institutions. Subsequently, the obtained data are compared with the degree of importance of the given competencies for the performance of managers according to available empirical studies. The empirical survey is supplemented by a questionnaire, which is focused on the area of further education of managers. Intercultural Specifics of Teamwork

This diploma thesis focuses on cooperation in international teams and the impact of cultural differences on the function of these teams. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the influence of cultural differences on team work. This work focuses on teams, their development, roles that the team members accept, team performance and their motivation. The thesis also examines culture and cultural models of Hofstede and Lewis. The attention is focused on the specifics of international teams and leadership within those teams, intercultural competency and aspects of intercultural communication. The thesis includes empirical research exploring possible problems and advantages of work in cross-cultural teams. The aim of the empirical research is to identify culture-related factors that influence cooperation in cross-cultural teams. Qualitative research was conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews with Czech managers of international teams. Stress and the coping strategies of the lead workers from the perspective of gender

In this master's thesis, we present a theoretically-critical analysis of the current academic thinking with regard to the differences between men and women as the lead workers in terms of specific stressors and the use of specific coping strategies. In the theoretical part, we analysed the topic of the specific requirements managers need to meet and the associated stressors. The empirical part analysed the differences in the use of coping strategies between men and women. Probands (of sample size 2105, men N = 1307, women N = 798) completed the Stress Management Questionnaire consisting of twelve coping strategies. The questionnaire distinguishes strategies aimed at resolving situations from those that protect mental well-being. Regarding the use of these twelve coping strategies, the results of the one-way MANOVA multivariate analysis revealed a significant difference (F(12,2092)=10.7, p<0.001) between men and women. A significant difference was revealed on the scale of strategies aimed at resolving situations, in which case men used these strategies significantly more than women. Impact of Career Guidance on the Well-being of Adults

The diploma thesis deals with the relationship and connections between career guidance and the personal well-being of adults. The aim of the work is to analyse the impact of career guidance on the personal well-being of adults. The theoretical basis of the work is devoted to the current form of career guidance in an andragogical context, the work of a career counsellor and various concepts of personal well-being are introduced. Subsequently, the relationship between career guidance and personal well-being is identified and specific mechanisms of the impact of career guidance on the personal well-being of an adult are described. Part of the diploma thesis is also a quantitative research, which aims to evaluate how clients of career guidance perceive its impact on specific dimensions of personal well-being. It was found that career guidance has the greatest impact on the dimension called self-acceptance and the dimension called meaning of life and has the least impact on the dimension called positive relationships. The results of the research also point to the importance of a form of career guidance in relation to the impact on personal well-being. Self-efficacy of professional athletes and further application possibilities

This project explores the means of self-efficacy development in competitive athletes. The theoretical part of the project will include sport motivation, performance and most importantly the application of a psychological concept of self-efficacy in individual sports. Additionally, it will discuss various self-efficacy measurements and enhancement techniques in athletes. The empirical part of the project will include qualitative research which aims to explore the level of self-efficacy in modern gymnasts and verify particular techniques of self-efficacy enhancement in their training. Development of psychosocial dynamics of teams in isolation

The thesis focuses on psychosocial dynamics of teams in isolation and its development over time. Literature review summarises various psychosocial and psychological aspects of human coexistence in extreme environments. It includes the risks and psychological countermeasures, description of stressors and other challenges, the intragroup issues and their development over time. It puts emphasis on defining the most challenging parts of missions and tries to identify patterns. Additionally, the relationship between the crew and MCC is addressed. The literature review is followed by a study focused on the development of intragroup relations and the crew-MCC relations in two analogue missions, Lunar Expedition-0 and Lunar Expedition-1. The research design consisted of a questionnaire, an interview with the whole crew, and the individual interviews with all respective astronauts. Additionally, a new visualization method, Dotty Overview of Team Interactions (DOTI), has been created as a part of this research. DOTI was described and used to visualize the data relating mutual interactions among the crewmembers. All of the results are presented, described and discussed. Ethnic Attitudes toward Romani Ethnicum

The thesis studies the topic of ethnic attitudes towards Romani. In the theoretical part, the author focuses on attitudes and their components with a special focus on implicit and explicit attitudes. In relation to these categories, models, techniques of measurement and their mutual relationship are introduced in this part. Furthermore, stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination are also thoroughly described. Subsequently, the thesis focuses on rasism and its manifestations and authoritarianism. Romani ethnicum is characterized together with stereotypes that are connected with them. The relationship between Romani and Czech majority is described. In the empirical part, the implicit and explicit attitudes toward Romani were investigated among 86 respondents in the first research using direct and indirect techniques. Five out of seven main hypotheses were confirmed and two research questions were answered. In the second research, the implicit attitude toward Romani was examined with the use of indirect measurement technique. The attitude was put into the context with the theory of social dominance among 110 respondents. One of two hypotheses was confirmed. The conclusions are discussed in great detail in the thesis.
