Kopecká, Jana ; Čakrt, Ondřej (referee) ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor)
Physiotherapy on the neurophysiologic base works with the principles of the motor functions regulations and the sensory-motor learning. We investigated the influence of the physiotherapy with the clinical status and immunological parameters in the patients with MS in this study. There were 12 patients with MS which underwent physiotherapy and 8 patients with MS in the control group. For the assessment of the clinical status we used a testing group of muscle power, spasticity, balance and posture reactions, knee lock, tremor, dysmetria, dysdiadochokinesis, visual and cognitive functions. From the test results we counted the index for the upper and lower extremities, for the entire function and balance. For the assessment of the immunological parameters we used common imunological examination. We found out that physiotherapy on the neurophsiological base significantly possitive influences muscle power and spasticity of the upper and lower extremities, balance, tremor of the lower extremities, sight and the entire functions of the patients with MS. There was only a mild improvement of dysmetria, dysdiadochokinesis, balance, tremor of the upper extremities and cognitive functions. The immunological results showed a significant IgA elevation in the group with the exercise. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The comparation of embryotoxical effect of insulin and glucose by the method CHEST.
Turková, Aneta ; Peterka, Miroslav (advisor) ; Likovský, Zbyněk (referee)
If gravid women suffer from diabetes, their unborn children have 10x higher risk of development of malformation, prenatal and postnatal death and post partum complications than children of women belonging to healthy population. The main and very controversial potential teratogenic factors are glucose and insulin. However, there are very ambivalent opinions on which one of these two substances causes damage to embryo. Therefore, the aim of this diploma thesis was to contribute to solving of this problem and test direct embryotoxicity of insulin and glucose. For solving of this issue, the so-called CHEST.The principle of this method is creation of a window in eggshell and consequent subgerminal or intraamnial application of the substance being tested.Embryos were tested from the second until the sixth incubation day.Firstly, two types of insulin were injected.Injected doses varied between 3µg/3µl to 0,003µg/3µl. Then glucose was tested, with dosage of 300µg/3µl and 30µg/3µl. Embryotoxic effect was detected for both types of insulin. The beginning of embryotoxicity line of insulin's lies between the dosage of 0,03µg/3µl and 0,003µg/3µl. From embryotoxic effect, death of embryos predominated over development of congenital malformations. Only after application on the second incubation day, there was increased...

The effect of canistherapy on client with cochlear impantate
FRAŇKOVÁ, Zuzana
This thesis {\clqq} The Effect of Canistherapy on Client with Cochlear Implant {\clqq} is aimed at finding the canistherapy effect by the children with cochlear implant. The canistherapy as a form of animal assisted therapy represents supporting rehabilitative method based on the contact of a person with a dog and their positive interaction. The emphasis is placed mainly on the solution of psychological, emotional and social-integrative problems, the canistherapy influence on the physical health represents the secondary component and rather includes the motivation component of this therapy. The cochlear implant is an electronic functional sense recovery interpreting the aural perceptions to the deaf by means of electric stimulation of the aural nerve inside the inner ear cochlea. The objective of the thesis is creating the efficient methodological material for the usage of canistherapy by the client with the cochlear implant. This thesis should help classify the canistherapy into the educational process having a beneficial effect on overall progress of a child with the cochlear implant. The qualitative research was used for finding the objectives of the thesis by means of involved observation, semi-standardized interview and documents analysis methods. Photo and video documentation is an additional material. The research was carried out at the preschool age children after the cochlear implantation. These children attend the special pedagogical centre for the auditory impaired in České Budějovice and they are integrated into the regular nursery school. On the basis of the research there were formed the methodological procedures of canistherapy by the client with the cochlear implant. The research solutions proved the positive effect of canistherapy on overall progress of a child with the cochlear implant. The thesis will be used as the informative and study material for novice and professional canistherapeutic teams, for pedagogical , specially pedagogical and other experts as well as the uninformed public. The information can be presented by the lectures, publications and flyer.

Sexuality and Body Image of Pacients with Cancer
WODECKÁ, Miroslava
Abstract The title of the presented bachelor paper is Sexuality and Body Image of Patients with Cancer. Care of patients with cancer is multidisciplinary not only from the medical and nursing point of view, but also from the social point of view. Only recently the expert community in health field has concentrated on sociopsychological needs of patients with cancer as well as their families. Sexuality and body image accompany person through his/her lifetime and serious illness may have an adverse effect on self-consciousness or our experiencing. Cancer and its treatment, its adverse effects and impact of treatment on patient´s organism and mental condition are specified in the theoretical part of this bachelor paper. This part comprises basic nursing interventions, strategies how to solve questions of sexuality of patients with cancer and also unsubstitutable educational role of a nurse. At the end of the theoretical part we pay attention to sociopsychological interventions which are applied on patients with cancer. The work itself aims to find out how nurses are prepared to educate patients in the field of sexuality and body image. To this end two working hypotheses were defined. In the first hypothesis we presumed that nurses were not sufficiently prepared to educate patients with cancer in the field of sexuality, and in the second one we presumed that the main difficulty as to why the education of patients in the given field was neglected was a communication barrier on the part of medical staff. Another goal of this bachelor paper was to determine the degree of influence of perception of one´s own body and sexuality in consequence of treatment and to find out whether patients with cancer had enough information on impact of illness and its treatment on their sexuality and body image. With this goal in view 3 survey questions were defined. The first one related to the development of sense of worse self-respect as a consequence of the illness. The second question focused on decrease of sex appeal of patients with cancer and the third one concentrated on awareness of illness consequences in the field of patient´s sexuality. On the basis of the survey made, Hypothesis 1 (H1) has been affirmed, namely that nurses are not prepared to educate patients with cancer in the sexuality field. Hypothesis 2 (H2) has been disconfirmed. Survey results have indicated that the main barrier as to why the education of patients in the field of sexuality is neglected is not communication but the fact that it is considered unethical to patients. Other hypotheses have been educed from the defined survey questions, namely Hypotheses 3, 4 and 5 (hereinafter referred to as H3, H4, and H5). H3: Consequences of cancer treatment lead to worse self-respect of patients. H4: Consequences of cancer treatment lead to sense of decreased sex appeal. H5: Patients with cancer lack information on consequences of treatment in the field of sexuality. Patients most lack information on how to communicate with their partners about complications. The survey was carried out with medical staff who work at oncology wards, gynaecology and surgery ward of FN Plzen and with patients with cancer. To draw necessary information from medical staff, we used the technique of data acquisition - questionnaire. Qualitative research was used at patients; data were collected by informal interview in home environment of respondents.

Magdalena Lasotová Immunohistochemical analysis of expression of SMAD proteins in experimental atherogenesis. Diploma thesis Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Pharmacy Background: We observed the effect of atorvastatin on the expression of phosphorylated form of SMAD 3 in atherosclerotic plaques of ApoE / LDL recep- tor deficient mice. Methods: We used C57BL/6J female mice with double deficiency of apolipopro- tein E and LDL receptor. Animals were divided into two groups. For 8 weeks bo- th groups were fed a standard diet. Animals of the second group received addi- tion of atorvastatin 50 mg/1 kg/day. Blood samples were taken for biochemical analysis. Histological staining with oil red we have taken for the determination of lipids in atherosclerotic lesions. For immunohistochemical analysis were used samples containing semilunar valves with aorta. Detection of expression of SMAD 3 protein was performed using Avidin-Biotin method (ABC) with detecti- on using DAB. Results: Administration of atorvastatin significantly increased level of total cho- lesterol and VLDL cholesterol. Despite hypercholesterolemic effect the adminis- tration of atorvastatin resulted in significant reductions of atherosclerotic lesi- ons compared with the control group. Immunohistochemical...

Discrimination, information and cognitive effects : evidence from a field experiment in the Czech rental housing market
Bartoš, Vojtěch ; Princ, Michael (referee) ; Bauer, Michal (advisor)
Aim of this thesis is to shed light on discriminative behavior of landlords in the Czech rental housing market using our data from a double blind Internet field experiment. The experimental design allows us to study the processes of choice of the landlords deciding about inviting or not inviting a particular member of a minority group to a visit of the offered flat. We control for various characteristics that may influence the resulting outcome and we try to disentangle their effects. Mainly we control for the minority group effect, for the effect of education and several cognitive factors that, according to a rich socio-psychological and behavioral-economical literature, affect the decision making. We introduce an innovative tool that allows us to study landlord's behavior using a special online mouse tracking program based on widely used MouseLab. The thesis is a part of a comprehensive research studying discrimination of minorities and the role of information in the Czech rental housing market.
