Fertility development in selected European countries considering the timing effect from the second half of the 20th century to the present
Ženíšková, Aneta ; Kurtinová, Olga (advisor) ; Šťastná, Anna (referee)
Fertility development in selected European countries considering the timing effect from the second half of the 20th century to the present The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate the influence of the timing effect on the mean age of mothers at childbirth in the context of fertility development in selected European countries from the second half of the 20th century to the present. Another objective is to adjust the total fertility rate to the timing effect and consequently demonstrated how changes in fertility timing affect this period measure in selected countries at a given time fame. The last objective is an evaluation of the views of respondents from studied countries from the sample survey of the European Social Survey for the years 2004 and 2010 to the questions relating to the reconciliation of work and family as one of the factors affecting the timing of fertility. On the basis of Esping-Andersen's typology of welfare states, following states are selected: Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine. Changes of the mean age of mothers at childbirth are given not only by real changes in the timing of childbearing (the timing effect), but also by changes in the childbearing according to the birth order (the effect of fertility structure). The method of decomposition was used for...
Transfer of transalpine landscape motifs in graphic art into selected works of Italian engravers of the early 16th century
Veselá, Markéta ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (advisor) ; Konečný, Lubomír (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to illustrate the phenomenon of the transfer of the transalpine landscape motifs in graphic art into the works of Italian engravers at the beginning of the six- teenth century, and by using detailed analysis of these prints lead to a decision as to why these transfers occur so frequently, mainly in the years 1500-1520. Because only brief mentions of these transfers are found in the available literature on this topic, and then often only as a statement, I decided to tackle this phenomenon in the context of landscape specifications. In the introductory chapter there will be a concise overview of the cultural situation of the humanistic society, including its assumptions and a brief evolution of depiction of landscape art. Additionally there will be a chapter about the terminology used, which in addition to clarifying the terminology also helps to further the description of the proce- ss itself. The main part will of course be a chapter dedicated into selected items. There will also be descriptions of the graphic works of selected Italian engravers, especially in the comparison of transferred landscape motifs from works by Albrecht Dürer and Lucas van Leyden. Analy- sis of the individual prints will focus on elements transmitted in the background of the works. Iconography...
Islamophobia and New Populism in Contemporary Western Europe: France and the Netherlands
Kočařová, Martina ; Barša, Pavel (advisor) ; Slačálek, Ondřej (referee)
Islamophobia and New Populism in Contemporary Western Europe: France and the Netherlands Bc. Martina Kočařová The Master thesis Islamophobia and New Populism in Contemporary Western Europe: France and the Netherlands explores current transformations of populism in contemporary Western Europe. The main objectives of the thesis are following: First, to verify a hypothesis implying that islamophobia has become a new feature of the contemporary populism, which has been consequently changing in terms of its content. Thus, it can hardly be classified as another form of the 'far right' politics. In this context, one may observe its shift towards the centre of the political party system. Second, based on the above outlined assumption, we aim to study whether the populist parties can be considered 'populist' in spite of the new features they have recently adopted. The theoretical framework of our research refers to Paul Taggart's conceptualisation of populism applying it on the cases of the French National Front under the lead of Marine Le Pen and the Dutch Party for Freedom and his leader Geert Wilders.

Communities of terrestrial nematodes after different approaches to heathland restoration
Radochová, Petra ; Háněl, Ladislav (advisor) ; Tropek, Robert (referee)
Since the 20th century, the distribution of European heathlands rapidly decreased due to agricultural intensification, heavy use of artificial fertilizers or acidification. Therefore, various attempts of heathland restoration are under way in these days. Analysis of nematode community composition can be one of the tools suitable for succession evaluation. In 2011, 2013 and 2014, soil samples were collected from heathland restoration experiment (launched in 2011) where different restoration methods were applied in a 3 × 3 factorial experiment; existing heathlands were also sampled to identify the target community both in dry and wet heathland. A total of 60 samples of extracted nematodes were analysed for absolute abundance, trophic groups, and genera dominance. Various indices were calculated to describe the nematode community. We were able to proove faster development of wet heathlands towards the target community. However, because of large data variability, there was no significant difference between treatments. Development of wet and dry heathlands differed also in increased proportion of omniphagous nematodes in 2013 and predators in 2014 in dry heathlands. After three years of heathland restoration, nematode community has not yet reached parameters of the target community. Key words: Nematoda,...
The Cobra Movement in the Context of Art of the 40s and early 50s.
Strasserová, Anna ; Klimešová, Marie (advisor) ; Rakušanová, Marie (referee)
This work deals with the experimental art group Cobra which united artists of three countries - Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands, after the World War II. Although this movement was active only between the years 1948 and 1951, the beginning of this group can be traced in the pre-war period when the future members of the group were influenced by the mainstream art movements. Similarly, we cannot see the year 1951 as the end of the importance of this international art formation. Despite the short duration, the group united number of artists from different countries who then influenced many of future artists and art movements. This work therefore mentions the activity of Cobra members before the actual establishment of the group, attempts to describe in detail its work during its existence, and lastly, it indicates its further heading. A special chapter is dedicated to the connection of the group Cobra to the Czech art. The artists of Cobra drew their main inspiration from the work of arts of specific groups, such as that of children, mentally ill, so called primitive nations, or from the folk art. Alongside that, the artists created their own unique style based on collective and spontaneous work and liberal art expression. The plurality of their art expression and their relationship to other art...
