Model assessment of an influence of waste water treatment plant with GIS
Kočová, Iva ; Matějíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Komínková, Dana (referee)
The subject of this thesis is a description of various types of mathematical models aimed at the spread of pollution in the river downstream and selection of the most suitable type of model and design the new one with using MATLAB. The application of the model is performed on Karlický creek, where it will be put into operation a new wastewater treatment plant Vysoký Újezd. Using the assembled model there are presented three simulation studies showing the dependence of time on the concentration of nitrate. These are:  Simulation of accident of the wastewater treatment plant Vysoký Újezd  Excessive intake of nitrate caused sheet erosion from adjacent agricultural land  Combination of both simulations Individual studies present the effect of nitrate on the water quality in Karlický creek, which falls into two categories of protection, Český kras area and Nature Reserve Karlické údolí. The aim of the above simulation studies is to demonstrate the spread of the nitrate into the various compartments along the entire length of the watercourse, and to show the loss of the nitrate over time and to compare the effects of point and diffuse sources of pollution. The model is calibrated according to the samples taken in Karlík creek during the period from 30 June 2008 to 31.12. 2009th . The results of...

Freedom of Religion or Belief in the Context of European and International Law
Bartoň, Daniel ; Scheu, Harald Christian (advisor) ; Bílková, Veronika (referee) ; Machalová, Tatiana (referee)
Freedom of Religion or Belief in the Context of European and International Law This PhD dissertation focuses on selected aspects of freedom of religion or belief in Europe. It aims to introduce the legal framework in which religious freedom has to operate, and to place this essential freedom into a broader cultural, religious and human rights context. The contextualisation emphasised throughout this dissertation is based on an assumption that it is not possible to establish a pure legal notion of religious freedom that would not bear any imprint of the societal, legal, cultural and religious context of its authors; in reality, each person's understanding of religious freedom is rooted in his culture, religion and experience. This should not lead, however, to a complete rejection of the possibility of a common understanding and universal protection of religious freedom. On the contrary, it should motivate each interpreter and law-maker in the area of religious freedom to study the understandings of all persons and entities involved in a particular case or situation. Having thoroughly studied all presented claims rooted in religious freedom and having taken into consideration all other rights, principles and interests involved, it should be possible for the decision-makers to resolve the case in a...

Surface treatment of spherical pin
Plášil, Petr ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Žák, Ladislav (advisor)
Diploma thesis is worked-up as a part of master’s studies of engineering technology M2I – K, analyzing the possible methods of surface treatment of spherical pin, that increase its corrosion resistance. Spherical pin is mounted into several types of chassis components such as joints, control arms, etc. The current situation is inconvenient for manufacturers, insufficient corrosion protection increases the number of complaints and this may be reflected in the number of future orders. Via of suitable surface treatment is to achieve a higher corrosion resistance while maintaining the functional properties of pins used.

Awareness survey selected groups of Pilsen people on drinking water quality
Matušková, Aneta ; Syrovátka, Oldřich (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jan (referee)
This thesis is divided into two parts: a theoretical part and a practical part. The thesis investigates the awareness of a select group of Pilsen residents about the quality of drinking water and the group are families with young children. In the theoretical part it explains some concepts relating to water quality, water pollution, water protection, rights to information and local surveys. These concepts are important to bring my work/home improvement ideas for how important water is and that it is important to be informed about its quality, then followed by a practical part. The practical part is focused directly on the survey, which was conducted in the south of Pilsen. This survey should clarify how aware the families with young children are of the quality of drinking water in this area. And at the end I present my proposal, which would have a problem with drinking water in Pilsen directly visible to parents with small children.

European trade mark
Summary The topic of my thesis is the Community Trade Mark. In the first part of my thesis I recounted the history of trade marks, their functions and obligatory essentials of signs that can form a trade mark. The principle of registration elegibility as described by the Council Regulation and numerous decisions of the ECJ and CFI is shown on examples of "non- traditional" trade marks formel of sound, olfactory and trademarks formed by color alone. We can find two obligatory conditions - graphical representation and ability to distinguish from another goods or services. I also explained the reasons and functions of trademarks in modern society. History of international protection of trade marks is a history of efforts to surpass an inborn problem - its the principle of domestic and international trademark law that trademarks and trademark law are territorial. The efforts to surpass this problem date back to 1883 when the Treaty of Paris...

Rothová, Kateřina ; Smolík, Petr (advisor) ; Zoulík, František (referee)
Indebtedness of individuals non-entrepreneurs and their subsequent inability to pay their obligations duly and on time was reflected not only in legislation designed to protect consumers but also to law that props up the debtor's financial position and provides him a second chance for a fresh start free of debt. The Insolvency Act passed through development during its efficiency i.e. from 1st August 2008, a considerable development, and according to the number of submitted insolvency proposals it became a legal instrument used by debtors to manage and address solving of their situation. We will be able to assess efficiency of utilisation this notion enabling discharge from debts in the next two or three years, when enough evidence should be available to evaluate the success of approved debt reliefs through the payment schedule. Court decision taking adapted the Insolvency Act also to the possibility of debt relief for spouses who are in most cases engaged in joint commitments under the joint property of spouses. The debt relief for spouses, however, brings a couple of questions and insolvency courts do not approach to proceed it in uniformly way. It is therefore important to prepare major amendment to the Insolvency Act, from which we expect not only the unification of court decisions, as well as...

In the theoretical part, the specialities of the environmental problems are illustrated, followed by the introduction to the international environmental law and agreements. In the practical part, two well-known international agreements concerned with atmosphere are compared. They deal with similar problem, but they achieved very different results. The objective of step-by-step comparison of diverse aspects of both agreements is to discover what factors caused the great success of the Montreal Protocol in protecting the ozone layer and why the similarly conceived Kyoto Protocol failed in the combat against climate change. Last chapter concludes this comparison and defines key characteristics which are essential for the effectiveness of the global environmental agreements.
