Financial literacy survey of pupils at primary schools and multi-year grammar schools

The bachelor thesis deals with the financial literacy of 9th-grade pupils in primary school and the corresponding years in multi-year grammar school. Financial literacy is one of the components of consumer protection in the financial market and has nowadays become a phenomenon. The aim of my work is to find out what impact the implementation of financial education has on the Framework Educational Plan and to find out if the type of educational institution or educational project affects the level of financial literacy of pupils. The thesis should provide a comprehensive overview of the subject together with the definition of the basic concepts related to the financial literacy. The conclusion brings together an assessment of the level of financial literacy of pupils from 26 elementary schools and multi-year grammar schools in a total of 839 pupils.
The Current Level of Financial Education at Secondary Schools in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the current level of financial education at secondary schools in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of this thesis is focused on knowledge of financial education, financial literacy and Standard of the Financial Literacy. At the same time, the results of the international PISA 2012 survey are described here. The essence of the empirical part is a research project. The main objective of this research is to determine whether and how deeply secondary schools incorporate Standard of the Financial Literacy into their School Education Programs. On the basis of this survey, the conclusions as well as suggestions and recommendations for pedagogical practice are presented.
Financial literacy and budgeting of the Czech household

The author of this bachelor´s thesis tries to explain the basic information related to financial literacy and its importance in everyday life, primarily for making budget and during financial planning. Additionally it deals with chosen products, that a finantially literate individual as part of their improvement, should know and be able to use. The thesis also focuses on the practical application of the chosen financial products to reach a set of goals derived for a model family in real conditions. The result is an understandable manual, which a family in a similar situation could use to its adavantage.
Analysis of high school and university students' financial literacy

The thesis' goal is to define basic terms associated with financial literacy - to clarify the important and somewhat inseparable role financial education plays in terms of financial literacy. Furthemore it aims to measure the current level of financial literacy achieved by students of public high schools and public universities. The theoretical section is aimed at different definitions of the term financial literacy, the significance of financial eduction in the Czech Republic and the related national financial education strategy. Its further aim is the current level of financial literacy and the role of subjects raising that level. The practical section consists of research survey via a questionare released at public high schools and public universities and its evaluation and comparison to recent survey by the Department of finance. The survey points to a relatively low level of financial literacy and the need for education in financial matters.
Factors Affecting Financial Literacy of Secondary School Students in the Czech Republic

This master thesis deals with the factors influencing the financial literacy of students in the Czech Republic. The main aim of the thesis was to find out whether specific factors have an impact on the financial literacy of these students. Among the factors surveyed were gender, highest parenting education and total household income. In this master thesis, quantitative research was used through a questionnaire survey aimed at exploring and evaluating the level of financial literacy of secondary school students. The hypothesis that were tested by statistical methods using the two-choice F-test and t-test were determined. Based on the results, the hypotheses were either accepted or rejected.
Basic of Financial Literacy for Children in School Age with Mental Disabilities in Montessori Pedagogy

The main goal of the bachelor thesis "Basics of financial literacy for children in school-age with mental disabilities in Montessori pedagogy" is to create an instructional material for financial literacy in Montessori pedagogy. The research determines four partial goals. The research question is chosen according to the partial goals. The qualitative research techniques were used to the achievement of the goals of the bachelor thesis. The semi-structured interview, the participant observation and the individual work with the girls were used to collect data for the practical part. The result of the bachelor thesis is the formed instructional materials for teaching financial literacy including the handmade aids of Montessori pedagogy. The instructional materials, including the aids, was created during the research and based on the individual needs of the girls.The results of the research point out the work with the aids beeing helpful for both girls. It was proceeded systematically during the work with the aids. Both girls improved, especially in the area of the financial literacy. Each of the girls improved according their individual abilities. Therefore it is not possible to compare the results of the research. The improvement of both girls in the area of the financial literacy is recorded in case studies. All process of the work with the aids and the practise work with money is described in the instructional materials. The bachelor thesis can serve as inspiration for the production of other aids in the area of the financial literacy, or for the completion and the grow of the instructional materials.
Financial literacy of the Czech population

Anotation Topic of the master thesis is Financial literacy of the Czech population. The thesis puts focus on population in their early adulthood (age from 18 to 30 years) and is divided into 5 chapters. 1st chapter defines literacy, functional literacy and financial literacy. 2nd chapter describes main reasons and factors affecting financial literacy and pathological events as a possible consequence of low level of the financial literacy. 3nd chapter focuses on customer protection and shows particular options how to increase level of customer protection in an area of personal finance. 4th chapter clarifies financial terms important for proper understanding of realized survey described in 5th chapter of the thesis. The main goal of the survey as well as the thesis is to find out current level of financial literacy of the Czech population in their early adulthood (age from 18 to 30 years). Partial goals of the thesis are identification and description of groups achieving worse results in financial literacy test within the population, and description of negative effects to individual's behavior in the area of personal finance related to lower level of financial literacy.
Financial education at low secondary schools in the Czech Republic

This thesis presents the concept of developing financial literacy education for pupils of low secondary schools and corresponding years of multi-annual grammar schools enshrined in the existing curriculum documents. Thesis seeks answers to the question of whether the teaching of financial literacy within the specified range has the sufficient support in civics textbooks and textbooks specialized on financial literacy, while exploring the opportunities for educating teachers, who, in majority, have not met with this theme during their university studies. In-depth interviews with second grade pupils in the period before the start of systematic financial education, whose analysis fills the sekond part of the thesis, should diagnose the level of understanding and structure of their own ideas on selected economic terms. Comparison of findings about the structure of pupils understanding of content and methods of work available teaching materials should help identify potential bottlenecks or suggest appropriate procedures to financial education program for pupils better adapt. Martina Rolincová Indebtedness of Czech households and its impact on quality of life Thesis Abstract The thesis "Indebtednesst of Czech households and its impact on quality of life," explores the phenomenon of over-indebtedness and thus, what impacts has this problem on life satisfaction of borrowers and their families. The main goal of this work is to describe these effects and instruments how Czech legislation responds to this negative phenomenon. Part of the work is a qualitative research among borrowers, their families and staff of non-bank credit institutions and agencies of discharge. Based on the analysis of this research and legislative background of this issue finds the author next to insufficient financial literacy also gaps in the legislation in protecting relatives against the consequences of wrong decisions of their family members.
Structure and causes of indebtedness of individuals citizens in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis is devoted to the issue of indebtedness of natural person citizens of the Czech Republic and the follow up solution proposal, which aim is eliminate this problem. Selected theories of human capital and the consumerist society best describe theoretical concept debt issues. Consequently, this chapter is followed by the application of state policy instruments, which can mostly be sort of legislative action, educational activities and information and communication tools. They are a very important component, since all the measures breathe life. An important component of this thesis is to research, which was carried out in several directions, taking could then occur between individual variables to verify hypotheses. The extension of knowledge in the field of theory and research led me to the various proposals on how to solve the problem. In summary, it is a modification of the entire lending process and the subsequent recovery, which would in case of implementation of indebtedness persons decreased while satisfying yield "creditable" lenders.
