Scouting as possibility how spend leisure time for persons with disabilities
Haringová, Věra ; Květoňová, Lea (advisor) ; Prouzová-Květoňová, Regina (referee)
The principles of Scouting are based on helping those who need help, and work with its members should in Junák come out from these foundations. This implies that the inclusion of children with disabilities should be encouraged in this organization. But leaders often face barriers that must overcome if they decide to adopt a child with a disability. The problem is mainly a lack of information on the principles of working with children with disabilities. Leaders then can not adequately explain to their members the individual needs of children with disabilities in their troop. Other children also for this reason may not accept a child with a disability among themselves. The leader may for example encounter a child with intellectual disabilities. This includes the need for disability-specific approach to the child, and therefore it is necessary to know the principles of working with the child to succeeded his inclusion to the troop.

Gender aspects of Czech Scouting. Why would girls attend Scouting?
Žárská, Magdaléna ; Knotková - Čapková, Blanka (advisor) ; Hasmanová Marhánková, Jaroslava (referee)
This thesis presents data gained from qualitative research that took place in Prague, Czech Republic in 2009. Based on semi-structured interviews with kids from Scout Groups it analyzes gender aspects of Czech Scouting. In my thesis, I introduce a short history of the Scout Movement in the world, as well as in the Czech Republic with a specific interest in the formation of the Girl Scouting. My assumption is that Czech scouting offers special environment for gender sensitive education without realizing the great potential. I suggest that the absence of coeducation in the scout units is the key element in gender sensitive education with the opportunity for the children to try freely whatever they wish for without being pressurized by the social prejudices about their gender which I try to verify through the experiences of the children. Key words: Scouting, gender, experience, identity

Crisis of masculinity between chimaera and stereotype. Gender and Czech society on the turn of 19th and 20th century
Mareš, Jan ; Randák, Jan (advisor) ; Kučera, Rudolf (referee)
1 Abstract This paper asks, whether a crisis of masculinity can be found in Czech political movements and communities at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. We analyze the development of gender orders between 1870 and 1910. There the imagination of separated spheres created an asymmetric gender order, yet partial shifts were evident. The ideals of masculinity and feminity were influenced through nationalism, which led to an emotionalization of masculinity by the beginning of the 20th century. The integration into the national body enabled the feminity to take positive use of the prevailing stereotypes. A change came after 1900, when the idea of degeneration appeared, attacking the contemporary form of masculinity denotating it as false. It follows a case study of the emergence of the Czech scouting. The establishment of scouting in Britain and America is today interpreted as a reaction to the crisis of masculinity, which makes it a good starting point for observing the crisis in another culture. The crisis manifested itself indirectly, on an abstract level, as a criticism of the state of the culture. Some of the scout founders considered this an opportunity, to set up a new culture by colonizing the nature (a feminine attribute). There were presuppositions for a feeling of crisis in the Czech...
