The Use of Facebook by the Czech Municipalities

This diploma thesis discusses the evaluation of the extent and way of using the social network called Facebook by the municipalities of the Central Bohemia Region, participating in the local Agenda 21. The subjects of the research are official Facebook pages of the municipalities on the mentioned social network. Emphasis is placed on revealing the relationships between the characteristics of individual municipalities and their activity, or the way of using Facebook. The theoretical part of the thesis provides definitions of the basic terms and the theoretical background. The research questions are formulated in the Methodology chapter. They are answered in the research section of this thesis by using combination of research methods. Official Facebook pages were created by four municipalities (until the 1 January 2016) from total number of twelve municipalities and small municipalities, participating in the local Agenda 21 in the Central Bohemian Region. According to the results of the econometric analysis, the higher the unemployment rate in these municipalities, the more likely it is that the municipality has an official Facebook page.
Specific conditions for the development of regional education in the City of Prague and in the Central Bohemia Region

1 ABSTRACT This final thesis is focused on the description of the specific conditions of the current development of regional education in Prague and the Central Bohemia Region. This is particularly true in relation to the use and creation of basic conceptual documents (long- term Plan for Education and the Educational System in the City of Prague and Central Bohemia Region) and other policy materials created for specific regional education in the City of Prague and Central Bohemia Region. The aim of this final thesis is to describe the specific fundamental conditions for the development of regional education in each region, the specific shared conditions of City of Prague and Central Bohemia Region. The final thesis also describes the current functioning of regional education in terms of financing, legislation and some decision-making responsibilities of local governments - municipalities and regions. The aim of this thesis is also to find common requirements and recommendations of a shared approach to solving problems in regional education in the City of Prague and Central Bohemia Region. The comparison of unemployment in the Central Bohemia region and in the Moravia-Silesia region

Unemployment is one of the biggest economic and social problems these days. The bachelor thesis compares unemployment in the Central Bohemia region and in the Moravia-Silesia region. The thesis is composed of a theoretical and an analytical part. In the theoretical part are characterized both regions described unemployment and some indicators e. g. level of economic activity, unemployment rate, dynamics rate and others. The analytical part compares both regions from different perspectives using data from Czech Statistical Office and Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The analysis uses appropriate statistical methods. This bachelor thesis provides a comprehensive overview of unemployment in the Central Bohemia region and in the Moravia-Silesia region.
Transparency in regional autonomy: a case study of the Central Bohemia Region during the electoral period 2012 - 2012

The main aim of the thesis is to demonstrate different views on transparency, problems and aspects that may be linked to it and the possibilities of strengthening transparency. Based on one of the aspects of transparency, that is publishing information about commercial companies founded by region or with its property participation, the thesis seeks to find out in which commercial companies the members of the regional assembly and the regional council of the Central Bohemia Region participate, and whether they can be in a conflict of interest. The thesis is structured into three chapters. The first one deals with theoretical definitions, the second one with organizations in the Czech Republic, which are dealing with the issue of transparency. The third chapter analyzes the participation of representatives and councilors of the Central Bohemia Region during the electoral period 2012 -- 2016 in commercial companies.
Analysis of horse riding tourism and its infrastructure in the Central Bohemia region

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze equestrian trails of Central Bohemia Region with its whole infrastructure - from riding stables, where is possible to accommodate with the horse, over tethering sites, restaurants adapted to the stay with horses or other places to have a rest, up to direction signs and information boards. The thesis also contains theoretical information about the horse riding tourism like a form of a rural tourism. There are mentioned improvement proposals of equestrian trails and the the bachelor thesis should first of all help persons interested in the horse riding tourism in the Central Bohemia region.
The comparison of unemployment in the Central Bohemia region and in the Usti region

Unemployment is one of the biggest economic and social problem of the present day and not only on territory of monitored regions, but on the whole world. The bachelor work is focused on comparison of the unemployment in Central Bohemia region and Usti region. In the methodological part are defined basic terms and formulas which are both used in the analytical part. The analytical part compares the socio-economic statistics of population in the surveyed regions by using data from Czech statistical office and Ministry of labour and social affairs. The objective of this bachelor work is to create summarizing view of unemployment in both Central Bohemia and Usti region.
The development and demographic consequences of suburbanization in the base of Prague

This bachelor work shows the characteristic progress of suburbanization in the base capital city of the Czech Republic, after the Velvet Revolution. The Second World War interrupted the very successful dynamic era of Czechoslovakia and the following socialistic era had been holding the natural pressure on suburbanization, till the fall of the communist regime at 1989. After the transformation of 1989, it appeared that all those years of struggling; still the Czechs desire to live in a family house in the countryside also known as the suburb. Finally, it was possible to have a restful life in the countryside with job opportunities a short distance nearby capital city. The analyst is using the suburbanization calculations in Central Bohemia Region, depending upon the capital city, using exponential function for the period 2001-2011, which shows the general estimation of suburbanization process in the certain area and also refers to the possible reasons for the differences which are diverged from the general trends. The analyst results may also help to explain future impacts for certain areas. At the end of this work, the main goals have been set up for the regional politics, which is trying to help every region to stay independent and also increase their cooperation and solidarity.
IMPORTANCE OF TOWN-TWINNING ON THE EXAMPLE OF SELECTED TOWNS IN THE CENTRAL BOHEMIA REGION

This Bachelor thesis is focused on a cooperation of towns with an emphasis on international cooperation through the town-twinning. The first part analyzes the theoretical framework and objectives of cooperation, the legislation and possibilities of financing. In the second part the thesis focuses on three particular towns in Central Bohemia Region - Beroun, Černošice and Dobřichovice - and examines cooperation in reality. At the end the work compares the two previous parts. Here, the thesis focuses on the reality of financing -- it was found to be (due to difficulties with applications for finances) better to rely on towns' own sources -- and also answers the key questions that proves undeniable importance of this form of cooperation: it is advantageous for all participating towns and they are able to fulfill theoretical goals in reality.
