Automated Detection of Relations in Data Structures
Nováček, Pavel ; Fiedor, Tomáš (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
This thesis deals with automated knowledge acquisition from structured data, precisely it includes detections of relations of data types in tree-structured data. The thesis is a part of Testos platform, which aims at software testing automation. The goal was to design and implement a solution that would automatically plan and execute detections over samples of real data structures. Detections would be handled by external modules called detectors that would cooperate with the solution. The final tool is a service which implements a algorithm for communicating with detectors via well-defined protocol, sending them requests in parallel to perform detections and handling results of detections. The service can be managed and tasked via created HTTP API. The results of detections, i.e. meanings and relations of input data, are used by other tools of Testos platform for the purpose of generating new test data with structure corresponding to input samples of real data.

Hruška, Michal ; Macková, Veronika (advisor) ; Turková, Kateřina (referee)
The bachelor thesis called Analysis of the work of hosts, commentators, reporters and experts during sports broadcasts in the Czech Republic and the USA focuses on the analysis of the structure, capabilities and quality of specific sports broadcasts in the Czech Republic and the United States. It focuses on the evaluation of broadcasts from the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Czech TV and American FOX Sports and the final matches of the Czech and American top American football competitions on the same stations, the so-called Czech Bowl and the famous Super Bowl. This selection allows several ways to compare individual broadcasts. First, it offers a comparison of the approach of both TV stations to the same sporting event in the form of a World Cup. It also provides an insight into the difference between the size of the largest American football match in the Czech Republic and the famous Super Bowl and their television coverage. It is also interesting to compare broadcasts of different sports on the same TV station, while in the Czech Republic it is the mainstream football and not-so-popular American football, whereas in the USA the situation is exactly the opposite. It is also possible to evaluate different approaches in communication towards the audience during broadcasts. The key part is the analysis of...

Comparative analysis of the visual component in the magazine Reportér and project Echo24
Weingartová, Michaela ; Láb, Filip (advisor) ; Turek, Pavel (referee)
The main goal of this thesis was to determine how projects Echo24 and Reporter work with journalistic photography using comparative analysis of their visual content. Both projects were found in 2014 as a reaction to a dramatical change of ownership of the Czech media. These changes also had an impact on journalistic photographers, because the new owners tend to save their costs on photography. This is also one of the reasons why I chose to analyze projects that started in 2014. To explain the broader context, in the first part of this thesis I describe the context of journalistic photography and the Czech media market development from the year 1989. In this work, I also describe other projects similar to Echo24 and Reportér. In the second part of the thesis, I use quantitative content analysis to describe the usage of the photographs in the printed version of Echo24 and Reportér. I also compare the collected data with answers from questionnaires with members of the editorial of the projects and photojournalists. In this paper, I found out that the project Echo24 represents the opposite approach towards photography than Reportér. Echo24, like other media, tends to save their cost on photography. Reportér on the other side can be defined as the protector of journalistic and photojournalistic values....

Repáňová, Michala ; Lukšů, David (advisor) ; Groman, Martin (referee)
In my thesis I deal with the circumstances of procedure of an ice hockey reporter job in the years 1967 - 1969. I chose this topic because of my interest in work of sport commentators and 50 years anniversary of occupation and "ice hockey events" as well. In my thesis I try to connect and map both these topics. In my thesis I am concentrated on how these political facts influenced the job of ice hockey reporters mainly how they reported about matches against the Soviet Union. The thesis has two parts - a theoretical and a practical one. In the theoretical part there is a characterization of historical circumstances, gradual development of rivalry between teams from Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union and profession of a journalist in that time. In the practical part I analyse ice hockey news in daily press such as Mladá fronta, Československý sport, Rudé právo a Stadión magazine where I research how they reported about matches from world championships and if it was changed because of political changes. The thesis is complemented by evidences of contemporary witnesses Mr. Jenšík, Mr. Hrubý and Mr. Turek who worked as journalists in that time and who described the procedure of everyday work in sport section. Jan Gusta Havel, successful ice hockey player who represented Czechoslovakia in that time...
Representation of journalists in videogames
Odstrčil, Tomáš ; Láb, Filip (advisor) ; Macková, Veronika (referee)
The Representation of Journalists in Videogames aims to find out how do videogame developers represent journalists in the mainstream videogames. The analysis is based on five case studies of various videogames but it also includes sequels and prequels of the selected games. The author of this thesis analyzes nine videogame journalists which can be differentiated into several categories: investigative reporters, photojournalists, paparazzis, radio and TV reporters and hosts of various television shows. Their behavior is not the only aspect this thesis analyzes because their visual appearance is also fully in the hands of the game developers. This thesis proves that the videogame journalists are sometimes depicted stereotypically but if so, it is always for a reason. Videogame developers do not always use this sort of depictions and can even accurately describe journalistic practice and behavior. Journalism is always better described if the journalist is a heroic protagonist of their videogame. If they are villains, it is often described using various negative stereotypes.

Lichnovský, Tomáš ; Záruba, Robert (advisor) ; Macková, Veronika (referee)
The interview is one of the journalist's basic methods and that statement also applies to the field of sport journalism. Through talking with athletes, the journalist gets information he afterwards shares with readers, listeners or viewers. When author decides to publish acquired material in the original dialogical form, it becomes of the interview genre. How would an ideal sport interview look like in this respect? What skills should a good sports journalist have? And how to ask the athlete not to answer "obviously"? The explanation on this topic has not existed in the Czech aca- demic sphere yet. For the first time, the diploma thesis Sport interview and Its Spe- cifics has tried to find the supported answers to the previous questions. In four explanatory chapters, the reader is introduced to the issue of media dia- logues with persons from the sports environment. The emphasis is laid on Czech audiovisual media area where the sport interview takes many forms. Besides a lit- erature research and the author's sports journalist practice, the thesis is based on interviews with leading Czech sports journalists.
