Sexual harassment at Czech universities from perspective of students

1 ABSTRACT The aim of this thesis is to introduce the issue of sexual harassment from the perspective of students of Czech universities. I present a brief history of the phenomenon of sexual harassment and its definitions in the theoretical section. I deal with power aspects of harassing behavior and I present its impacts on harassed persons. I also put sexual harassment into research and legislative context and I devote to the specifics of the school and the Czech setting. The empirical part is dedicated to my research. On the basis of qualitative research I find out how students define sexual harassment, what personal and mediated experience they have with it, what strategies they choose, if they are to cope with this behavior, and how they evaluate it. I focus on the question, with whom they solve sexual harassment, and I present their suggestions of solving and prevention of sexual harassment. I also discuss how they evaluate relationships with teachers.
Life Course Patterns, Similarities and Differences of People with a Disability

This thesis deals with life courses of people with a mental disabilities living in the area of Sluknov peninsula. Qualitative research is compiled by interviews that give us a chance to peek into their lives, thoughts and opinions. The thesis is based on theoretical foundations concerning the evolution of mental disability paradigm and legislative and social progress from 1950s to present days. Then I give a summary of options how to accomodate, educate and employ people with mental disabilities in the region. Key words: mental disability, life courses, qualitative research, interviews
Expert policy networks of the Civic Democratic Party in relation to the phenomenon of population ageing

Political parties are usually described as political actors. In this approach, their power struggle and conflict of ideas and ideologies are stressed. However, political parties are also part of policy making process. They have an impact on appointment of executive and legislative offices which are essential for policy making. Moreover, constituents expect elected representatives to be able to solve policy issues. This thesis aims to understand how Czech political parties gather expertise knowledge for policy making. Sources of expertise of political parties are viewed through the lens of policy network analysis. Therefore, the main focus is on who is involved in development of party programs; what the role of different actors is; and what the linkages among them are. The thesis is designed as a case study focused on the Civic Democratic Party (ODS). Specifically, it is focused on development of a part of its medium- term political program Vize 2020 related to the issue of ageing society. "Oit wird me!" The Kraslice German. Phonetic structure and variation-linguistical classification

This thesis deals with the topic of a diatopically spoken variant of German language in the region of Kraslice, the north-western part of Bohemia (Eger/Cheb). The research that was carried out stands on dialogues based on the so called Wenker - Sätze phrases (1878), such dialogues were recorded and then phonetically transcribed and analyzed. Using these methods and materials, the phonetic structure of vowels was reconstructed and the results were variation-linguistically classified. Among the expected features, the north-bavarian and east-franc influences prevail as expected. Despite those there are many signs of the north(west)-bohemian too. Next the question pursued of how the German Graslitzer developed after 1945.
Fair Trade fruits and flowers on the Czech market

The aim of this work is to introduce specific standards for fair trade products, especially for fruit and flowers. Moreover, the analyses the offer of Fairtrade fruit and flowers on the Czech market and determines consumer attitudes to these certified products. The attention is also paid to the campaigns, which are supposed to improve the awareness of Fair Trade and encourage the interest of real purchases.
The Meaning of Success in the World of Czech Professional Drummers

Matěj Kubíček: The Meaning of Success in the World of Czech Professional Drummers Abstract In this thesis, the author deals with the term "success", aiming to uncover ways in which Czech professional pop music drummers understand it. He also investigates problems connected with it, such as the attributes required to reach the status of a professional drummer, or the link between art, commerce, and skills. His approach consists of comparing relevant literature, which is introduced in the first part of the thesis, with information stemming from research. This research was made in a qualitative method, where the author made interviews with eight professional Czech drummers. The main themes contained in the investigation of the word success are the actual typology of the term, teaching and pedagogy, family life, and the relationship between art and commerce. As far as a professional drummer's attributes are concerned, three most important terms are identified: Diligence, talent, and humbleness.
Reflection of the referendum and change of the constitution in Belarus 2004 in the Czech press

The bachelor thesis deals with the referendum and constitutional change in Belarus in 2004 and the response of these events in the Czech press. The first part is theoretical, trying to define the form of the current political regime of Lukashenka's Belarus. The second part chronologically charts the political development in the country. This chapter covers the period shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union, the events of the nineties and the turn of the century followed by the discussed referendum and constitutional change. The third part provides an analysis of the Czech press - selected newspapers, socio-political magazines and professional journals - with an emphasis on their response to the referendum and related events.

The topic of this bachelor thesis is admitting children under than three years in Kindergarten. The teoretical part is focused on the developmental specifics of children from one to three years. A practical part contains interviews and questionnaires with teachers who work with this age group. The aim of this thesis is to develop a systematic procedure for working with children from one to three years in Kindergarten.
