Definition of new referential values of maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressures and P0.1 values in normal population of the 16 - to - 17 age range
Kálalová, Tereza ; Šulc, Jan (advisor) ; Koudelková, Alena (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to define norms for inspiratory (Pimax) and expiratory (Pemax) pressures and mouth occlusion pressure (P0.1) in healthy white population of the 16-17 age group in the Czech Republic, specifically the capital city of Prague and its close vicinity. Furthermore, this work aspires to ascertain whether there is a correlation between the respiratory pressures, P0.1 and selected anthropometric and pulmonary values. In order to define the norms, 79 children were tested, including 41 boys and 38 girls 16 to 17 years old. After establishing the subjects' case histories, anthropometric, spirometric inspiratory, expiratory and forced vital capacity measurements were made. The study defined the norms of respiratory pressures and P0.1 in 16 to 17-year-old boys and girls, thus achieving its main goal. Furthermore, a difference was found between the average measured Pimax and Pemax values for boys and girls, with the boys showing higher values comparing with the girls. The study did not ascertain a correlation between respiratory pressures, P0.1 and selected anthropometric values (age, height, weight, BMI, BSA). No correlation was found between respiratory pressures and static pulmonary volumes. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The Impact of Addiction and Addictive Behavior of Adults on Children and Adolescents
Madárová, Andrea ; Žáčková, Hana (advisor) ; Cimrmannová, Tereza (referee)
This dissertation called "Influence of adult addictions and addictive behavior on children and adolescents" is divided into two parts: theoretical one and a practical one. In the theoretical part, there will be defined the addiction and the addictive behavior, after they will be put into the International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. Then we will analyse concrete psychoactive substances that causes the addiction, types of addictive behavior, factors that encourage genesis of addiction and addictive behavior, influence of addictions and addictive behavior on children and adolescents. The last chapter of theoretical part occupies with possibilities of therapy of addiction and addictive behavior. The practical part proceeds from anonymous questionnaire survey that took place at an elementary school and at a high school. In the end there is a discussion about influence of adult addictions and addictive behavior on children and adolescents.
Interests, leisure activities and personality development of adolescents
Charwotová, Markéta ; Gillernová, Ilona (advisor) ; Mertin, Václav (referee)
The bachelor thesis project aims to cover the individual aspects of the topic of adolescents' personality development by means of their leisure activities. Therefore, it concerns leisure activities and their developmental consequences, as well as formative factors and the relevant adolescence-related topics (especially social aspects of maturing). The thesis consists of two main parts. The first part is devoted to the theoretical description of the topic. The second part involves a proposal for an empirical research. The adolescent period is very dynamic and full of changes as the personality of an individual is being formed and it is therefore appropriate to observe the influence of various developmental aspects of leisure activities on the personality of adolescent boys and girls. For this reason, the proposal for empirical research is conceived as longitudinal. Keywords: Development of personality, interest, leisure activity, adolescents, formative factors
The Nurse's Role in the Education of Adolescents on the Risk of Lung Cancer Within Primary Prevention.
BENEŠ, Jiří
The submitted bachelor thesis deals with the problematics of education of teenagers at the risk of lung cancer within the primary prevention. The goal of our thesis was to determine the knowledge of teenagers related to prevention of lung cancer. To determine whether teenagers try to take precautions and also to chart the educational proccess provided by a nurse in the pulmonary department and at the practitioner, in connection with lung cancer. To fulfill the goals we have used the help of the three following questions. What knowledge do teenagers have about the primary prevention of lung cancer? How do they take precautions to lung cancer? What does the educational proccess, led by a nurse at a practitioner and in the pulmonary department of teenagers about lung cancer, look like? For the execution of the research survey we have chosen the qualitative approach with the help of a semi-structured interview. The research sample consisted of 8 probands aged 15-21 years. 4 of them were smokers and 4 non-smokers, women and men. The other 4 probands were employed in the area of a general nurse or a pediatric nurse and they worked in the pulmonary department or at the practitioner. Results of the research survey have shown that the knowledge and skills in the area of prevention of lung cancer are deficient in the by us chosen research sample. Furthermore, the research survey has revealed a problem connected to the education of teenagers at the side of nurses. The range of the education carried out by nurses is very narrow and only if they found a person a risky one. Our research survey opens a space for deeper surveys aimed at health education of teenagers regarding the harmful effects of smoking and at the role of a nurse within raising the education.
Development of Christian Spirituality in Adolescents through Artistic Means
MÁLOVÁ, Klára
This thesis deals with spirituality in adolescents and its artistic expression in relation to the biblical tradition. The theme of the thesis partly builds on my bachelor thesis. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and research. The theoretical part describes the basic concepts, the developmental-psychological characteristics of adolescents, spirituality and art (music, fine arts, poetry, Psalms and symbols). The experimental part is devoted to work with a selected group and the evaluation of the results using content analysis.
The level of physical activity among high school students and their parents study Písek .
SKOVAJSA, Radko
In our thesis we deal with motion fitness of teenagers, students of Písek´s grammar school, aged between 17 19. Our survey focused on students´ motion activity expressed in number of footsteps during one week. Measuring was done in spring and in autumn. In addition to that we compared relations between boys´ and girls´ physical fitness and motion fitness and grade of motion activity in relation to body fat expressed by BMI index.Research work was done in group of 39 students; 20 girls and 19 boys who registered one by one in INDARES COM system on-line. They put the numbers of their footsteps and filled the IPEN forms in. To test motion fitness we have used test battery recommended by INDARES, to find out the volume of motion activity pedometres have been utilized. Data have been processed and evaluated with Minilab programme. Ascertained results show that motion activity of the youngsters move downwards.
Connection Between Attitude Toward Music of Parents and Their Children
Stratil, Petr ; Váňová, Hana (advisor) ; Kodejška, Miloš (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on connection between attitude toward music of parents and their children. The goal of the thesis was a questionnaire survey on the sample of adolescent population and their parents, analysis of results and evaluation of hypotheses. 123 pupils of secondary school, 94 fathers and 120 mothers took part in research. Pupils and their parents filled in the questionnaires that were subsequently conjugated and analyzed concerning the connections between them. Hypotheses supposed significant parents' influence toward their children in selfassessment of musical skills, parents' musical experience affecting children musical education and finaly indirect effect of parents on children's musical preferences. Findings of research indicate stronger alliance between mothers' musical attitudes and attitudes of children. In spite of common perception, which supposes deep generation gap between children and their parents in the field of music, research results indicate, that parents and children often accept their favourite music respectivelly, or at least they know it. However, it is impossible to assert, that children simply copy music attitudes of their parents. The way of acquiring music differs between parents and childern dramatically; children are used to download music recordings on...
Coping Strategies with Stressful Situations in Population of Individuals with Behavioral Disorders
Bidmonová, Tereza ; Morávková Krejčová, Lenka (advisor) ; Čáp, David (referee)
4 Abstract The topic of this thesis is the strategy of coping with stressful situations in a population of individuals with behavioral disorders. The starting point of the thesis lies in the assumption that adolescents with behavioral disorders show greater difficulties in coping with stressful situations and react differently from their peers that have no behavioral disorders. The target group of respondents is represented by clients of juvenile correctional institutions, specifically boys between 15 and 19 years of age. Their answers are compared with a comparison group of students from secondary schools that have no behavioral disorders. The strategies of coping with stress are examined through the use of two methods, a questionnaire "Strategie zvládání stresu SVF 78" and the semiprojective Rosenzweig Picture-Frustration Test. The results indicate that the group of adolescent boys placed in juvenile correctional institutions, shows the tendency to resign more frequently and the effort to gain control over stressful situations less often. Contrary to expectations, the predicted search for alternative activities to escape from stressful situations was not confirmed. Furthemore, neither the tendency for a behavior-oriented self defence nor ones` aggresive actions directed at the surroundings occured....
Genetic study of obesity in children
Říhová, Aneta ; Daňková, Pavlína (advisor) ; Novota, Peter (referee)
Obesity is multifactorial dissease. Genetics factors participate in its origin of 40-70% (Barsh et al., 2000). Incidence of obesity is associated with a number of complications, which affect quality of life and abbreviate its length. It is projected in constantly younger age and its prevalence in the world grows. Even though several hundred genetics markers associated with obesity have been described, we still do not know all causes, which complicates efficiancy of treatment. Subject of this study was research of selected genes and their polymorphisms: FABP2 (rs1799883) and PLIN (rs1052700 and rs894160). The aim was to establish association between genotypes and antropometric and biochemical parameters related to obesity in group of 299 children and adolescents aged 7-18 years. Next goal was to establish whether these polymorphisms affect success of reduction therapy. SNP associations with antropometric and/or biochemical parameters were evaluated for boys and girls separately. Observed genotype frequencies between sex did not differ and they were in accordance with those explored in other populations. In rs1799883 polymorphism neither association with measured anthropometric and biochemical parameters nor effect on weight loss during reduction therapy have been found. The TT homozygote subjects of...
