Analyze of imiges from the movie Nocturnal Butterfly
Park, Soyoung ; KUBÍČEK, Jiří (advisor) ; DUTKA, Edgar (referee)
Abstract "Nocturnal Butterfly" is short animation film which is directed by Raoul Servais. This animation is Servais's homage to Belgian surrealist Paul Delvaux. This paper concerns comparative analysis between the images of Nocturnal Butterfly about male and female, butterfly, mirror, railway station, automaton, last freeze-frame, and motifs of Delvaux's painting. At first, my research at overall characteristic of surrealism would show that Delvaux's painting shares such characteristic. André Breton who is a key man in surrealism believed that automatism is driving force for artistic creation, so he thought we must look into the unconscious and world of dream to create new aesthetic reality and to comprehend reality just as it is without prejudice caused by reason and rationality. Especially he tried for liberation of the consciousness through automatic drawing, collage and depaysement in surrealistic painting. Delvaux with Magritte used depaysement to give psychological shock to appreciator, so he used mythology as motifs to draw inner landscape unfamiliarly and mysteriously. And though idealized images of women he expressed own desire. After, I would review other works of Raoul Servais. He has expressed own view in various ways by using new approach for each work. Through criticism at human civilization and mythicism of desire he has utopian attitude even though he has criticized absurdity of actuality circumstance. Nocturnal Butterfly has atmosphere fascinating and mysterious but unfamiliar than clear messages. It seems that the atmosphere of the work considerably results from images taken from Delvaux's painting. And Nocturnal Butterfly shows ambiguous and unfamiliar feeling of surrealism using shooting mode of live action films and photographic images. Next, I would review images in Nocturnal Butterfly. Delvaux expressed idealized images of male and female as his central figure motives, but Raoul Servais expressed images of male and female as earthly images in Nocturnal Butterfly. Woman with movement in Nocturnal Butterfly is waiting someone and reacting to eyes from man rather than she is idealized being. But She is also mysterious being. She is dancing with another self appeared from mirror as her double, in fantastic and fascinating time. But when train in reality arrives and a man appears, the time is over. The man wearing a hat in Nocturnal Butterfly is like Delvaux?s self-image mixed with scientist and gentleman. The man watches the object of desire, and possesses the object. Delvaux?s painting as last scene in Nocturnal Butterfly seems to be index of photograph image displayed from both surrealism and movie. So it informs that this animation is not over but continues to a piece of reality. The result of analysis of the images in Nocturnal Butterfly shows that Nocturnal Butterfly is the most fascinating and mysterious new animation with weakened completion of narration unlike other works of Raoul Servais.

Poetics of endangered existence in the works of Jiří Orten and Dušan Pala
Manová, Vilma ; Holý, Jiří (referee) ; Vojvodík, Josef (advisor)
The thesis examines the poetics of "endangered existence" in the poetry of Jiří Orten and of Dusan Pala. Firstly, I will outline the ideology of existentialism and its intellectual background in the context of which did the poets create. Furthermore, I will focus on the period between wars in Bohemia and on the time of crisis, both economic and social, from which a new poetic generation emarged. From that generation the work of two poets is interesting for us. Those are Jiří Orten and Dusan Pala. Their work is based on the authentic experience of tragedy of war and physical and psychological threats. I will point out that their poems can be percieved as self-projective and I will highlight the importance of the actual experience for their work. The core of the thesis are analyzes of the texts of these two poets. In my analysis I will rely primarily on the theses of Václav Černý, contemporary theorist and from today's perspective, I will try to verify their validity.

The present work includes research photodynamic therapy (PDT) colorectal carcinoma. The actual experiment was conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Biophysics and Informatics 1st in 2005-2008. Colorectal cancer is the most common malignancy of the Czech population. Risk of disease of colorectal cancer in the Czech population reaches 5.9% and still growing. Still is a large group patients with advanced cancer (approximately 30% of patients), which is indicated only palliative therapy. One of the most common procedure in patients with advanced cancer is the foundation of the stoma, which significantly extends the life of the patient. Photodynamic therapy is already used by default. We focused on the possibility of treatment of colorectal cancer phthalocyanine, which is among photosensitisers second generation with a rapid uptake in the tumor specimen. The aim of current research is to improve screening and to design new treatments that would achieve better results than existing procedures. PDT can improve the quality of life and in patients with advanced malignant disease and prolong survival interval.

Alternatives to unconditional imprisonment
Mařánková, Barbora ; Šámal, Pavel (referee) ; Vokoun, Rudolf (advisor)
86 Resumé Alternatives to unconditional imprisonment The name of my diploma thesis is The Alternatives to Unconditional Imprisonment. I chose this topic because it is the actual theme, the crime rate raises and alternative punishments represent new options how to deal with increasing criminality and matters related to it. Czech Republic and other countries are forced to deal with problems related to increasing amount of imprisoned persons. Unconditional sentence is accompanied with many negative consequences, such as interruption of social bonds, adaption to prison culture and difficult comeback into society after the imprisonment. This is very wide topic and I more concentrated on community service order, monetary fines and suspended sentence (including suspended sentence with supervision). The aim of my diploma thesis was summarize current legal regulation, mainly a new Criminal Code, and some problems in practice. The thesis is composed of eleven chapters; some of them are divided into subchapters. The first part of my thesis including chapter 2 - 4 is introductory and deals with the term of punishment, its purpose and individual theories of punishment. Next one is the concept of restorative justice, because the alternative sanctions are result from it. Restorative justice conception brings a new look on...

Public debt management
Votava, Libor ; Dvořák, Pavel (advisor) ; Mandel, Martin (referee) ; Vítek, Leoš (referee)
Chronic imbalance between government revenues and expenditures was the main cause of growing public debt in many economies. In economic theory we can find some other arguments that justify deficit financing of government expenditures or public debt. We can mention these arguments -- in some situations (for example natural disaster) government borrowing from other subjects is very prompt and operative way how to gain additional money and seems to be better than other ways (for example better than increase of taxation), government bonds and securities can be very attractive instrument where economic subjects allocate savings and improve liquidity of secondary markets or can be used for monetary policy. On the other hand many arguments against budget deficit and public debt are in theory described and analyzed -- negative affects in savings allocation (crowding-out affect), cost of debt service limits active fiscal policy, debt burden is shifted to other generations, government expenditures from debt financing can negatively effect macroeconomic stability. In theory and in practical policy is public debt and its effects on economy relatively complicated and controversial topic and we can analyze its from economic, technical and political point of view. It results also from the fact that there are many different debt instruments which can be used to finance the budget deficit. A main distinction is the currency of denomination, and, in particular, whether or not is the domestic currency. Another important characteristics is the initial term to maturity, which among marketable instrument may range from few weeks to 30 years. A policymaker may rely on marketable securities, as well as on loans from financial institutions and on savings bonds sold to personal investors. Which instruments policy makers choose depends on the objective they pursue as well as on the circumstances in which the choice is made. Debt management we can define as the process of establishing and executing a strategy for managing the government's debt in order to raise the required amount of funding, achieve its risk and cost objectives, and to meet any other sovereign debt management goals the government may have set, such as developing and maintaining an efficient market for government securities. The objective of debt management policy is to minimize over the long term the cost of meeting the government's financing needs, taking account of risk connecting with debt portfolio. Application of debt management in real economy covers for example these specific issues: Debt management objectives and strategy, coordination with fiscal and monetary policy, allocation of responsibilities and objectives among institutions and authorities dealing with debt management, transparency to public, institutional framework, technical and information base. Importance of public debt management results from facts that high levels of public debt are a common feature of modern economies. It is possible to suppose that debt management is going to be very actual issue in the Czech Republic in near future for these reasons -- Czech Republic is small and open economy (we can consider it to be emerging market), during last several years public debt in Czech Republic have been growing rapidly not only in absolute volume but also as GDP ratio, there is a permanent danger that financial and economic shocks in international economy combined with inappropriate fiscal and monetary policy can have negative or in extreme case fatal impact on many people living in the Czech Republic. Dissertation "Public debt Management" primary focused on these issues and problems: Basic theoretical points concerning fiscal policy, deficit and public (government) debt -- methodology of measuring debt, influence debt on economy, risks connecting with public (government) debt Arguments for and against deficit and debt Public debt management -- general recommendations of International Monetary Fund Practice as for the public debt management in some countries -- USA, Sweden, countries of Euro-area Situation as for the public debt in Czech Republic Public debt management in Czech Republic -- historic development, goals and criteria set and used presently, analyze of risks that public debt management deals with, risk management applied in Czech republic, evaluation public debt management in Czech republic -- confrontation with recommendations of International Monetary Fund Analyze of impact of financial crises on process of public debt management in Czech republic Some arrangements concerning directly or indirectly public dept management in Czech Republic are recommended and analyzed. These recommendations are: Implementation of "inflation-linked" bonds Increasing portion of debt denominated in euro currency Prolongation of calendar of emissions Improvement of intelligibility of documents named "Strategie" that should declare and explain principles of public debt management in Czech republic Creation and implementation of special law destined for public debt management

T.G. Masaryk' s view of the function of religion in the civil society
Horák, Karel ; Pelc, Bogdan (advisor) ; Ovečka, Libor (referee)
ANGLICKÁ ANOTACE DIPLOMA THESIS TITLE: THE OPINION OF TOMÁŠ GARRIGUE MASARYK ON THE FUNCTION OF RELIGION IN THE CIVIL SOCIETY AUTHOR: Karel HORÁK SUPERVISOR: Bogdan PELC ANNOTATION: It is to be stated that the current postmodern Czech society does not pay much attention to the heritage of the first President of the Czechoslovak Republic, Prof. Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, nor it takes much efforts to understand. Moreover, the rising generation has hardly any cognizance, what was the importance of the personality of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk for our state and for the Czech society. The secularized Czech civil society of the beginning of the 21st century perceives the heritage, left by one of the most important personalities of the Czech, European and world history in his life and works, with certain constraints. The main objective of this thesis is to give a transparent survey of Masaryk's views on the function of religion in a civil society, proceeding from the assumption of a very quest, based on the existing and actual facts that are known about Masaryk's life and work. In the first section, the life story of Prof. Masaryk is described. It is not, however, a pure listing of biographical data. This section aims at "clarifying and illuminating" that nebulous cloud, shrouding the person of T.G.M. for present-day...
