Academic self-efficacy of high school students

The concept of academic self-efficacy, which refers to Albert`Bandura`s self-efficacy theory, is an important factor in students` academic achievement. In this thesis we attempted to develop a research tool for assessing academic self-efficacy. The theoretical part focuses on general definition of self-efficacy and specific characteristics of perceived academic self-efficacy. The empirical part deals with the development of the questionnaire, with verification of its psychometric characteristics and determines its validity. The questionnaire was tested on a research sample of 611 students of five Prague secondary schools, aged 15 - 19. The findings indicate that the developed assessment tool is reliable, has good psychometric qualities and satisfactory validity, and is applicable in school practice. The research has also revealed interesting relations between academic self-efficacy and other variables such as gender, age or demanding school situations experienced by student. The Influence of regular physical activity on self concept of women

The aim of this thesis is to study physical self-evaluation and generalized self-efficacy within the self-concept of women. This is put in context with their regular physical exercise. a number of other variables are being examined to add the complexity to the topic of self-concept and sports. Among them there are Body Mass Index (BMI), subjective self- confidence, level of professional involvement in particular sport activity and whether the woman has children. The theoretical part of this work looks at the self-concept paradigm focusing on the physical self-concept of women and self-efficacy in sports. Furthermore it examines how the physical exercise is related to the mind. In the empirical part of the thesis physical self-evaluation of women was researched in context with the type of exercise they had been doing. This was examined in quantitative analysis of a group of 100 women who did sports. The research includes also relationship among physical self- evaluation, generalized self-efficacy and other variables. The research method used was the Physical Self-Perception Profile (PSPP) and Generalized Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES). Sport activites and their impact on the psychological resilience of a primary school age child

Sport activites and their impact on the psychological resilience of a primary school age child The work is focused on the study of the relationship between the psychological resistance and the top dance sport. The aim of this paper is to verify whether is the psychological resilience in children of a primarys school age positively influenced by the top dance sport. In the theoretical part are described possible approaches to psychological resistance. Chapters ares dedicated to its definition and a list of potential diagnostic measuring methods. The study describes the relationship of sport and psychological resilience, which is based on those studies illustrated the positive impact of sport. Attention is also paid to the theoretical interpretation of the relationship of sport and children. For research are used: Mirror drawing test and questionnaires. The research confirmed the assumption that a higher resistance rate is witnessed in case of top athletes children than in the control group children. In the characteristics as adaptability - maladaptability. Higher level of resistance was confirmed when comparing the questionnaire "Self-efficacy to regulate exercise" and "Children's self-efficacy scale". Career counselling in French "bilan de compétences" approach

The theoretical part of the diploma thesis presents some selected approaches to career counseling with emphasis on the French method bilan de compétences . This method is based on an approach that combines the competence analysis, psychological assessment, individual empowerment and career counseling. Finally, a resumé of most in uential research studies examining mental processes active during this method is presented. Results of the research study conducted on a sample of 31 (28-49 years) unemployed, participants of a six week bilan de compétences programme are presented in the second part of the thesis. We measured the evolution of self-e cacy, locus of control and psychological well-being during the programme. These variables were measured in three phases: prior to the programme, at the end of the programme and on month following the end of the programme. At the end of the programme participants showed signi cantly higher level of self-e cacy and psychological well-being as compared to the situation before the start of the programme. One month after its end, however, values returned to its original level. We also examined relationship between satisfaction with the programme, level of acquired knowledge and observed psychological variables. No signi cant relationship was discovered. Results...
Media Models for Preschool Children's Resilience

This thesis concerns with media models of preschool child resilience. The theoretical part summarizes knowledge about developmental period of preschool child, social learning, imitation and human resilience. Further it is devoted to the media issue, especially media communication influence, child viewer and model learning per television transmission. The empirical part contains qualitative research of eighteen child animated cartoons. There were demanding situations and the coping strategies explored in the analysis. After their evaluation we recommended advisable child cartoons from the perspective of potential influence on resilience development of preschool child in the sense of self-efficacy, and comparison of Czech and foreign production. Procrastination as a managerial problem

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to clarify the subject of procrastination and identify the causes of procrastination and its consequences on selected samples of students and workers. The bachelor's thesis consists of two parts. In the first part I theoretically define the topic, describe the various causes of procrastination and methods for the elimination and prevention. In this section I also define the importance of tackling this issue from the perspective of manager. The second part consists of research, which examines the causes of procrastination, types of procrastinators and consequences of procrastination among students and workers in research samples. For data collection I used an online questionnaire. In the discussion and conclusion, I provided recommendations for the elimination and prevention of procrastination for identified types of procrastinators in both research samples.
Protective factors of primary school pupils and their meanings.

The aim of this thesis is mapping the protective factor problems of pupils of the 6th to 9th grades and their meaning. It follows mostly social support, resiliency and self-efficacy as an important protective factors. It also defines protective and risk factors. The thesis focuses on the influence of different protective factors on the life style and well-being of the secondary degree of a primary school in the context of child development, with the emphasis on perception of social support from parents, teachers and classmates, using the standardized research CASSS-CZ.
Analysis of the link between self-efficacy, capital, planning and ambition of nascent entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic

The thesis is based on data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor project and analyzes the link between self-efficacy of Czech nascent entrepreneurs and the disposable amount of human, social and financial capital. It also examines the link between self-efficacy and planning activities of nascent entrepreneurs. The second part of the paper analyzes the relationship between growth ambitions of nascent entrepreneurs and disposable human, social, financial capital and business planning. It also shows the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and growth aspirations of Czech nascent entrepreneurs.
Self-concept in children with learning disabilities

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of learning disabilities and their consequence on pupil´s self-koncept and class position. A pupil, who suffers from a learning disability, has to face a lot of difficulties after he or she enters school. The way how these children tackle these difficulties influences their self-concept and thier class position. The theoretical part discusses explains the terms- self-concept, self-esteem and self-efficacy in connection with pupil´s motivation, pupil´s engagement in learning process and their coping with the learning disability. The problem of inclusion of these children among their classmates in learning process is also mentioned. The practical and investigative part concerns the research at the elementary school in Pelhřimov and monitors the collected data.
