Analysis of fertility in the Czech Republic in selected periods within the context of political and social development
Slámová, Lucie ; Miskolczi, Martina (advisor) ; Šimková, Martina (referee)
The objective of the thesis is to analyze development of fertility in Czech Republic in selected time periods. There is a question of whether the important political and social changes affect the reproductive behavior of the population or not. The task is divided into two main parts. The first, theoretical part describes the historical background, political and social changes that occurred from 1940 to 2012. Also the theories of family policy and state support for families with children are described. The second part, practical one, is prepared by using data from Czech Statistical Office. Here are graphically illustrated demographic indicators mainly fertility, the average age of mothers and first-time mothers and the net reproduction rate. The observed data are then confronted with the historical context. The work suggests that significant social and political changes actually affect fertility. This effect, however, is only temporary. In the observed period, there was not such a strong impulse, which would affect the behavior of young families permanently.

Divorces and women's income: initial findings for the Czech Republic based on individual data
Janský, Petr ; Pertold, Filip ; Šatava, Jiří
In most cases, divorce leads to a radical change in life situation with many consequences for both divorcees. Nowadays nearly half of all marriages in the Czech Republic end in divorce and so this has been and will continue to be part of life for a significant proportion of the country's population. The consequences of divorce are highly influenced by the division of labour within the couple prior to their separation. There is a high level of division in most Czech families. Women spend much more time caring for children, relatives and the home, while men are largely focused on paid employment. We estimate that married women aged 20 to 70 who are neither studying nor in receipt of an old-age pension would see their net incomes fall by 20 % if they ceased to share income within their household (e.g. as a result of divorce and separation). Households led by divorced women report some of the lowest incomes per household member. The average income in a female-led divorced household is one fifth lower than in married households and a quarter lower than in households led by divorced men. Divorced women are, however, more economically active than married women; this is probably a reaction to their loss of income following divorce. Nevertheless this difference could also suggest that women who are economically active are less attractive as partners (Bertrand, 2016).

Navrátilová, Michaela ; Vášová, Lidmila (advisor) ; Součková, Veronika (referee)
(in English) The thesis deals with integration of children with special needs into libraries. It is precisely meant visually disabled, hearing impaired, physically and mentally handicapped children and children with specific learning disability as well. Integration of disabled people from general point of view is paid attention into the first part. The exact types of disability as well as their classification and specialties or chosen communication principles are presented here. Next, this thesis outlines some possibilities how to integrate those children into libraries and which types of services and programs should be designed and offered by libraries but the main target is to introduce the working methods with disabled children. There is a detail presentation of the integration project "Ruku v ruce" (Hand in Hand) in the thesis, which is realized in Jiří Mahen Library in Brno. The current state of librarian work with children with specific needs is outlined based on the realized survey. The questionnaires were sent to the selected libraries in South-Moravian Region. One chapter is quite deeply focused on games for disabled children and it significantly includes as the relaxing as group games which developing every single abilities, like memory, mind, speech, attention [Author's abstract].

Differences between men and women in the Czech labour market
Stroukal, Dominik ; Kadeřábková, Božena (advisor) ; Pavelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Němec, Otakar (referee)
This thesis consists of five articles that apply current world research on labor economics at the Czech Republic and confirms the significant differences between men and women in this market. It shows that gender has a significant influence on the preference on the labor market and, consequently, on employment and health. First, the thesis shows that preferences are relevant determinant of career and then we study the difference in preference of salary for men and women. Subsequently it shows that gender plays a significant role in explaining the relationship between homeownership, and unemployment, as well as unemployment and health. The first chapter was able to demonstrate that the preference for a career has a positive influence on the choice of career. The influence of higher education on prioritizing career proved to be positive and significant. Probability of a career choice is reduced by the presence of children, however, is not dependent on their number, which is contrary to the theory of preferences. The second chapter shows that Czech women prefer more non-monetary rewards than men. It has also been shown that people with university education are same in the preferences of non-monetary rewards regardless of the gender of the respondents, however, compared to the world's research, the Czech higher education increases this preference. It turned out that women prefer risk less than men. The third chapter demonstrates that although the housing market undermines labor mobility and employment in the Czech Republic at the regional level, therefore, that in regions with a higher rate of home ownership is higher unemployment, at the individual level, the owners of housing are unemployed are less likely. The estimates are significantly different for men and women. Men living in owner-occupied housing have a higher likelihood of employment than women. At regional level, however, this thesis shows that the high rate of home ownership increases unemployment for both men and women, in the long run only to women. The fourth chapter showed that men transition to homeownership reduces the likelihood of unemployment next year. For women, this relationship has proved to be insignificant. In addition, as insignificant showed the opposite relationship, the transition from unemployment to the newly acquired home ownership. The last chapter shows that the change in the working status to unemployment will increase in the future probability of worse health. Influence in less than two years, however, proved to be significant. An important conclusion is that men have a significantly stronger relationship between health and unemployment than women.

Difficulty of blind man in medical institution
Dvořáková, Bohdana ; Kutnohorská, Jana (advisor) ; Machalová, Iva (referee) ; Pečenková, Jaroslava (referee)
The Bachelor thesis deals with the issue of special needs of blind people in medical institutions. It draws attention to the necessity of a greater degree of cooperation of multidisciplinary teams in treating the blind. The thesis deals with various types 85 of architectural barriers that make it practically impossible for the handicapped to orientate themselves and it tries to explain how to eliminate them. It argues that theoretical and practical training of medical staff is necessary in order to avoid cases of blind people being disadvantaged in our mostly sighted society. The basis of the thesis is formed by qualitative research with seven blind respondents. The method of semi-structured interview was used here and the respondents were carefully chosen. The main criterion was the acceptation of the handicap and experience with medical staff in hospitals. An issue was examined, why do these people, who lead normal lives (work, travel on their own in public transport, communicate with authorities, raise children), have problems to visit medical facilities alone, without company.

Special catechesis. Theory and Practice
Świerczková, Agnieszka ; Kuźniar, Mariusz (advisor) ; Eliáš, Vojtěch (referee)
This dissertation titled "Special catechesis. Theory and Practice" explores the methods of teaching religion to mentally handicapped children. The research focuses on the presentation of theoretical and practical methods introduced by D, Jucha, J. Madeja, D.Doroszewka, B. Janosz and other significant Polish catechists. The theoretical part, besides a systematicly processed terminology also deals with the actual content and the main aim of special-care catechesis. In addition, it provides an interpretation the dignity of man as it can be found in some church archives. Last, but not least, attention is drawn to the important role of families, parishes and catechists. The second, practical, part is inspired by the methods of B. Janosz - whether it is put to creative use along with new teaching materials as well as new communication tools that motivate mentally handicapped children for active participation in special-care classes. The author of this study concluded that even the weakest must be provided adequate catechesis as every human being, no matter how limited, is capable of growth to sanctity. These people feel the need and are entitled to life in faith. There is a need for oligo-catechesis and it is unquestionable.

Chamber music - development of musicality and creativity
Klinecká, Magdalena ; Tomášek, Jiří (advisor) ; Palkovská, Jana (referee)
This work treats of chamber music in several points of view. First, it deals with chamber music in itself; second, with its relation to the interpret; third, with its reference to the audience. Concerning the relation between the interpret and chamber music, we recognize different stages and levels of its prosecution - by children, pupils, amateurs and professional musicians. Further, we detect the impact of chamber music on a person listening to it. We find the positive influence of that music on diseased or handicapped people. We get knowledge of various competitions for chamber ensembles. In the end we acquaint with playing chamber music within my "initial" family and with an extract from arrangement of folksongs for children.

Political and Legislative discourse about the substitute infant's alimony in Czech Republic
Cidlinská, Kateřina ; Pavlík, Petr (advisor) ; Havelková, Barbara (referee)
Czech Republic, like other European states with high divorce rate, is facing high incidence of failure to pay child maintenance. Nonpayment of child maintenance threatens healthy and successful development of children and has a significant gender aspect - the majority of solo parents, who face financial distress, are women. Being a solo mother together with the nonpayment of child maintenance and the discrimination of women on the labor market (and other effects of gender inequalities) are the main factors of the expanding phenomenon of feminization of poverty. One possible solution is an institute of advanced child maintenance, which is becoming increasingly implemented on international scale. There have already been three attempts to adopt this solution in the Czech Republic, all of them unsuccessful. The fourth one is recently being discussed in the Parliament. The aim of this thesis is to uncover the reasons for the previous failures. It maps the Czech political and legislative discourse on advanced child maintenance and analyzes it in international context. The research subjects are: Czech advanced child maintenance bills, selected foreign laws on this institute, political debates on the bills (parliamentary discussions and opinions of relevant state authorities) and interviews with Czech...
