In the next part I try to ouline the beginning of the publishing house Host leaded by Dušan Skála in early 1990s'. The current shape of the publishing house and the magazine has been formed since the second half of 1990s' under the leadership of Tomáš Reichel and Miroslav Balaštík. In the main part of my thesis I try to describe the contemporary work of the publishing house Host which I make mostly through its book production. I also try to point out the transformation of the publishing house Host from a narrowly focused publishing house to a publishing house whose production can excite even a mass readerʼs interests. The aim of my thesis is primarily to introduce comprehensive description of publishing...

Category of the Choice in terms of the Category of the Author and the Genesis Phase of the Literary Process
Kroulíková, Lucie ; Bílek, Petr (advisor) ; Hrbata, Zdeněk (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to demonstrate the importance of the category of choice in the literary process which has not been described systematically yet. The thesis explores the occurrence of the category of choice in all aspects of textual genesis, focusing on the author as the producer of the choice and investigating to what extent his choice influences the final form of the literary work. From the point of view of the principle of selection, the thesis deals with the choice in the actual world and its subsequent verbal representation implemented by the choice of specific literary processes and language means. The category is discussed in the broader context of its interdisciplinarity, with emphasis on both the conscious and unconscious nature of the category and the supra-individual determinants. In the conclusion, the thesis examines the author from the other side - as a product of the choice - and raises questions concerning the selection criteria for the constitution of the literary canon.
Computer game - a peculiar literal creation?
Kovaříková, Šárka ; Klumparová, Štěpánka (advisor) ; Kubíček, Tomáš (referee)
The bachelor thesis with the topic "Computer game - a peculiar literal creation?" consists of two parts. The first part introduces computer games in general and takes up the RPG genre, which is the closest one to literature due to its large content of text. It shows that for playing computer games similar abilities are needed as for reading books (mainly reading and information literacy). The term "flow-experience while playing computer games" is mentioned as well. Further, different scientific approaches, which can be applied to research about computer games can be found. The last topic of the first part describes fictional worlds, where different stories can take place. These stories are created by the different narrative categories - narrator and tale, time, space and characters. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to analysis and interpretation of the computer game "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion". This part verifies that for playing computer games it is necessary to know special types of literacy. Besides that, the game shows one type of fictional world, where all the narrative categories create a specific world with its own rules.
