Chamber Music by Terezín Composers
Bartošová, Marie ; Stříteská, Leona (referee) ; Nedělka, Michal (advisor)
The output of the composers coming from Terezfn has arisen from a very specific background, based on both historical and sociocultural pOints of view. Ghetto Terezin, in its final solution of Jewish issue, stood for the place of an accumulating concentration camp designed as a final solution for the Jewish people living in the nazi-occupied countries. The Jews being kept under the Nazis' control, had to carry out various orders and they were treated in a very cruel way. The music culture originated here absolutely illegally but later, when the international organizations expressed its interest in the situations in concentration camps, the Nazis started to "beautify" ghetto for the committee's eyes. The majority of music works comes from the music orchestras needs to obtain some musical scores which was got rid of by the arrival in the concentration camp. Therefore the new music works are mostly only chamber music or choruses. All these music works are written for the same purpose - to interpret hopes to all auditors - co-prisoners. It was just music, paintings and literature presenting in daily life, which helped prisoners to remain as human as possible. Among the musicians imprisoned in Terezin were for example Karel Ancerl, Karel Berman, Pavel Hass, Hans Krasa, Gideon Klein, Karel Reiner, Rafael...

The first part is related to the short historical review of the communism era in Czechoslovakia since the so called Victorious February in 1948 till 1988, when the first anti-government demonstrations occurred. The second part is focused on the critical historical moments in 1989 ("Palach Week" in January 1989, petition "A Few Sentences" in July 1989, anti-government protests in August and October 1989, the collapse of the communism regime in November caused by the Velvet Revolution, the unanimous vote by the Federal Assembly). Meanwhile there is a following practical part. Its main purpose is interpretation and analysis of the articles in order to show examples of the ideological influence of the language.

Specialities of nursing with representatives of Church - dignitary
ŠEVČÍKOVÁ, Kateřina
The main theme of our thesis was the Specificity of church representants´ treatment {--} church dignitaries. We set 3 targets: 1. to allocate the specificities when treating church dignitaries of various religious directions, 2. to describe daily schedule of various religious directions, 3. to find out, how much are the church representants of various religious directions satisfied with provided health care. We devided the thesis into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, nurses, but even general public, can get the basic information about five religions, whose representants we can meet in our hospitals: Roman catholic, protestant, orthodoxy, judaism, islam. Within our thesis we also deal with the treatment of nuns´ treatment. Chaptres are clearly ranged, in the inroduction we always mention short world history of the particular religion, then history in Bohemia, followed by brief history and important dogmas of the particular belief. At the end of each chapter we mention daily schedule of a church dignitary and specificity of his treatment. In the practical part, we discuss the results of our research. To obtain necessary information, we used two methods. By questionnaire method, we found out the nurses´ level of knowledge about mentioned religions and their opinion concerning the necessity of a specific attitude when treating church dignitaries. The level of their knowledge was satisfactory. Hypothesis, in which we supposed that the health personnel, taking care of church representants of various religious directions, do not make any difference between them and other patients, was not after statistic elaboration confirmed. To obtain information from church dignitaries we used a method of a standard interview. After evaluation of obtained information there were following hypothesis: church representants of various religious directions are satisfied with offered health care. Upon the results of this research we recommended to insert this theme, specificity of church representants´ treatment, to curriculum of health schools (for health assistants, nurses Bachelor and nurses Master). Then also impose this theme to programs of specific conferences, retraining courses or educational seminary, in order to inform even graduated nurses about this new disscused theme. It would be also convenient, if educational institutions used more often various offers from jewish or islamic fondations, which willingly offer conferences and closer approach to the particular religion. Nurses should be motivated to get new information about various religions in order to be generally more cultivated, which is indispensable for a nurse.

Kysela, Ludvík ; Gerbery, Juraj (referee) ; Jungová, Eliška (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis, with the title of "Comparing the media image of churches in 1991, 1999 and 2008 in selected Czech dailies", aims to capture the potential change in the content of the Mladá fronta DNES and the Právo dailies. Following the events of November 1989, the Czech society experienced an increased interest in religion and churches, which then gradually declined over time. The research focus of this thesis is on determining whether and how the content of the selected dailies reflected these shifts within the society. The research method applied included examining selected articles using a quantitative content analysis. The research did not examine only the scope of media space dedicated to Christian spiritual topics but also the degree of negativity and topic selection. The research also compared the results between the dailies, with Mladá fronta DNES maintaining the profile of rather an independent daily and Právo representing a daily with a left-wing inclination. The bachelor's thesis also examines the phenomenon of religion from both the general viewpoint and the viewpoint of the specific situation in the Czech Republic.

Měšťanová, Kateřina ; Slanec, Jaroslav (referee) ; Němcová Tejkalová, Alice (advisor)
Today's role of wife of the president continues the tradition of Czechoslovak first ladies of the First Republic era. The president's wife achieves a certain level of status and is known through the media. However, it is important to note that this title is still not codified in this country, it is an unpaid function and in consequence, there are no official requirements for specific roles which the first lady of the Czech Republic should fulfil. Despite this, it is evident that she becomes involved in the public life and therefore she will probably have various roles applied to her. The object of this thesis is to assess - through the example of Livia Klausová - in what way is the first lady presented to the readers of Mladá fronta DNES, which can be classified as a serious Czech newspaper. The aim of this thesis is to describe, based on selected newspaper articles, the specific roles in which Livia Klausová appeared in the daily paper during the first presidential mandate of Václav Klaus in the years 2003-2008. Accurate results are achieved by content qualitative analysis of selected newspaper texts of the daily paper Mladá fronta DNES. A fundamental element of the thesis is the usage of specialized foreign literature concerning first ladies, which will be used also for the final comparison of the...

This thesis analyzes news photographs related to the Old Town Square and its task is to explore the role of a place in a city and how it determines the myths in visual messages. The theoretical part focuses on the context of semiotics and news photographs and describes the possibilities in interpreting meanings of visual communication. In relation to photographic messages, it also reflects the analytical background at the level of myth, based on the work of Roland Barthes. Theoretical part also takes in account the symbolic and historical values of the Old Town Square. The analysis itself is based on a sample of 20 randomly selected photographs present in MF Dnes and Blesk, which cover events taking place in the Old Town Square between 1993 and 2013. Using comparative semiotic analysis it focuses on the visual content of news photographs in these journals, while observing how the Old Town Square takes part in the connotative chains and resulting myths.
