Learning Exercises in English Textbooks

The thesis deals with the issues connected to learning exercises in educational English students' textbooks. The main focus is based on the occurrence of the educational exercises analysis in these textbooks. In general, learning exercises develop two main branches - the language itself (specifically grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation) and language skills (speaking, listening comprehension, reading comprehension and writing). The attention is paid to what types of learning exercises usually appear and what exactly they develop in students' cognition and their language skills. The educational enrichment coming from these activities is very important for the students' cognitive development. At first, the theoretical part of each sub-branch is discussed. Afterwards, the emphasis is placed on the learning exercises themselves as these are essential components of the students' textbooks. The theoretical part is relatively extensive. It takes the fundamental proportion of the thesis and contains detailed descriptions. The explorative section is based on analysis of several English textbooks intended for students of the English language. Health problems in Ara chloroptera and Ara macao breeding (review)

Red and green Macaw (Ara chloroptera) and Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao) belong to the most bred big parrots in our country. They are resistant species, however, in breeding they can suffer from different illnesses. The aim of this work was to deal with the existing knowledge of their veterinary problems. The work is divided into several main parts according to the qualities of illnesses. There are infectious and invasive diseases, genetic disorders, tumoral diseases or veterinary problems caused by environmental impact. In the last but one part different injuries of these birds are mentioned and the last part contains health problems of digestion, respiration or psyche. Finally, basic aspects of the health problems in the breeding of these species are analysed.

The Olympic Games in Barcelona 1992 as a factor of changes in Catalan nationalistic discourse of political parties

Interrelation between sports and politics in the specific case of the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 offers a wide range of opportunities to strengthen nationalist tendencies of the Catalan society. This thesis examines how the organization of this event affected the development of Catalan nationalistic discourse of political parties. These changes are analysed on two levels. The first level is the evolution over time - the thesis compares the periods before and after the Olympics and looks at trends across each period. The second level is the development in the level of debate - the thesis looks at the category of political parties, at the category of Catalan politics and at the category of the Spanish nationwide politics, while it analyses the moves of the topics and trends across the levels. Thus, the thesis examines trends of the political discourse in the electoral programs, in speeches at annual meetings at the level of the Catalan parliament and in speeches at annual meetings at the level of national Spanish Parliament. The basic parameters of the research work are themes of language policy, cultural policy, the issue of state structure juristic reform, linguistic forms of the discourses and relation to the Olympic Games. Cílem této diplomové práce bylo zamyšlení nad konzumní společností. Teoretická část nám pomohla nastínit určité základní aspekty tohoto typu společnosti, který se postupně vyvíjel od průmyslové revoluce z masové společnosti. Empirický výzkum nám byl vzácným přínosem, protože jsme mohli na malém vzorku populace dvou společností pozorovat a porovnat zvyky a chování spotřebitelů, stejně tak jako jejich názory a pocity jakožto přímých účastníků v konzumním světě. Naším výzkumem jsme dokázali pouze dvě z počátečních tří hypotéz. Došli jsme k následujícím závěrům: (1) ženy mají vyšší tendenci ke spotřebnímu chování než muži, (2) český konzumní rozkvět se neukázal v zásadě nijak rozdílným od daleko "starší" a "vyspělejší" zkušenosti s konzumem ve Švýcarsku, (3) lidé se z velké části stále necítí být ovlivňováni reklamou. Jsem si vědoma skutečnosti, že rozsah této práce neumožňuje do zpracovávané problematiky proniknout hlouběji, nicméně v teoretické části práce jsem odkryla širokou škálu teorií, analýz a dohadů o módě, nakupování a reklamě jako základních stavebních kamenů konzumerizmu. Tato témata byla rozpracována v empirické části naší práce. Výzkumu se zúčastnil pouze omezený vzorek respondentů, a není tudíž možné závěry výzkumu generalizovat na celou společnost. Verifying the standadrds of low-threshold facilites for childern and youth in Prague 2006

Předložená bakalářská práce přímo navazuje na výzkum diplomové práce H. Solařové, která se tímto tématem zabývala v roce 2003. Výzkum byl zopakován po dvou letech za užití stejné metodologie. Za tuto dobu se počet NZDM zvýšil, výzkum byl tedy proveden jak v "původních" zařízeních zařazených do výzkumu v roce 2003, tak u nově vzniklých NZDM. Byly zachovány stejné cíle - zjistit jak jsou Standardy NZDM v praxi dodržovány, jestli se k nim zařízení hlásí a co si o nich myslí samotní pracovníci. K těmto cílům byl přidán navíc cíl srovnat získaná data s rokem 2003. Samotná práce je členěna na dvě části, na část teoretickou a část praktickou. Teoretická část je členěna do 10 kapitol a je zaměřena na podrobný popis problematiky NZDM a témata, která s problematikou NZDM úzce souvisejí. Mezi tato témata bylo zařazeno téma volného času z hlediska jeho naplňování dětmi a mládeží, dále problematika dospívání, která se úzce dotýká cílových skupin NZDM a téma prevence rizikového chování, v němž mají NZDM jasné a nezastupitelné místo. Podrobný popis problematiky NZDM se soustředí na jasné definování a vymezení NZDM jako sociální služby, na definování cílové skupiny na niž jsou NZDM Literatura 60 orientována. The Effect of Personal Causality Orientation on Adherence in Outpatient Physiotherapy

(in English) This master thesis deals with themes of motivations and compliance to treatment recommendations in outpatient physiotherapy. In the theoretical section it brings an introduction to the issue of adherence as a part of medical rehabilitation. It sheds some light on the importance of the research in this field and structures its span according to prescribed diagnoses and other criteria. It also shows distinctions in concepts of compliance, concordance and adherence and summarizes the findings of the most relevant directions of motivation research in this area of study. The aim of the empirical part is to capture relations between the distribution of patients' personal causality orientation and their adherence to treatment. Based on the results of a DOPO method, self-assessment of adherence and evaluation of adherence by the treating physiotherapist, from the sample of 69 patients it concludes, that there is no statistically significant relation between the aforementioned variables.

A minor as debtor in proceedings to enforce judgment (by judicial officers or private enforcement agents)

This Master's thesis describes the position of a minor debtor in enforcement proceedings. The aim of this thesis it to, first, provide with a complex summary of the issue, concerning primarily topical questions which are discussed by experts in connection with childrens' indebbtedness, and second, to further identify the key drawbacks regarding the enforcement proceedings against minor debtors, with an offer for a solution. The thesis is subdivided into two parts. In the first part, there is the notion of a minor defined - for the purposes of this text, a minor is a person who is younger than eighteen years old and, concurrently, who was not emancipated by a court. The following chapters describe the protection of a minor in the legal system in general, where there are principles of best interest of a child and the right of a child to be respected in their opinion described. Further, the procedural protection of a minor is discussed, concerning primarily the procedural specifics of trials where a minor is a party to the case, including enforcement proceedings. Diplomová práce "Výuka anglického jazyka u dětí se specifickými poruchami učení na 1 .stupni základních škol" se v teoretické části zabývá obecnými informacemi o specifických poruchách, psychologickým pozadím výuky cizího jazyka jako takového a problematiky výuky cizích jazyků u dětí se specifickými poruchami učení. V této kapitole se zejména zaměřuje na zmapování oblastí problémů a jejich projevů ve výuce. V praktické části je práce zaměřena na zjišťování názorů rodičů, týkajících se domácí přípravy na hodiny cizího jazyka za účelem zmírnění obtíží, které se mohou u dětí projevovat. Dále také se snaží zjistit názory dětí samotných a v neposlední řadě i přístup učitelů k výuce cizího jazyka u dětí se specifickými poruchami. V přílohách jsou uvedeny některé ukázky vyplněných dotazníků rodičů a dětí, otázky, které byly pokládány učitelům a seznam elektronických zdrojů materiálů pro výuku cizích jazyků. The Selected Legal Aspects of Foreign Investment in Australia

in English The purpose of this master's thesis is to introduce a reader into some legal aspects of foreign investment in Australia. And especially those which can be crucial for a foreign investor when contemplating about investing in Australia. The thesis is divided into 6 chapters. The first chapter introduces the topic of foreign investment and the thesis itself. The second chapter familiarizes with the key terms in international investment law, namely, investor (both a natural and legal person) and investment (in economic and legal sense). The third chapter describes the legal framework governing foreign investment in Australia. It provides an overview of domestic and also international legislation. The fourth chapter then deals with admission and establishment of investment in Australia. It covers how this issue is regulated in investment treaties and in domestic legislation, where the most important piece of legislation is Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Act. Further, this chapter describes the concept of foreign person and the national interest test. Media review of environmental activism during the D8 motorway building

Master thesis Media review of environmental activism during the D8 motorway building focuses on media review of longlasting dispute about building the D8 motorway. Using content analysis, it aims to describe how the activists are presented and reviewed by media. Theoretical part focuses on theory of mediation, media effects, news values and construction of reality. Then it concerns with environmental journalism as a branch of journalism practice. Historical overview of D8 construction is also mentioned. The practical part implements the main research - content analysis of the 10 years long period, with regard to 2003 - 2005 and 2011 - 2013 periods. The research has shown that media coverage was really strong during these periods. Media seek for objectivity but nevertheless, the final review is barely negative.
