Sunnigdale Agreement: Consociationalism as a solution of conflict in Northern Ireland and its failure
Musilová, Karolína ; Říchová, Blanka (advisor) ; Fínková, Eva (referee)
The Bachelor's thesis "Sunningdale Agreement: Consociationalism as a solution of conflict in Northern Ireland and its failure" examines the possibilities of using consociational model to solve the conflict in Northern Ireland in the 1970s. British government tried to solve long- lasting conflict among catholics and protestants by imposing the power-sharing government. The thesis examines how the conditions of consociational model defined by Arend Lijphart were fulfilled in Northern Ireland and if there was a opportunity to solve the conflict with the model. Moreover, the thesis analyses to what extent the failure was caused by consociational model itself. The result is that conditions for consociational model are not favorable in Northern Ireland, but this does not necessarily mean failure. More important was the lack of the key element of consociationalism, which is the belief that the system should be preserved shared among the elites.

Lašťovková, Lucie ; Housková, Anna (advisor) ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (referee)
In the thesis "Interaction between literature and film in Manuel Puig's novel" we attempted to present a brief research of a possible relation between literature and film in the novel "Boquitas pintadas". The objective of this work was to answer the question whether there is some kind of interaction or interrelation between these two artistic forms and how this interaction is being showed. In the first part of this work we tried to define relation between literature and film in general focusing on their diverse means of expression which can be used for representing the concrete features. In this connection we sketched the possible ways of expression and we tried to find out whether the literature and film differ intrinsically. In this part we also investigated the influence of the film on Manuel Puig's writing in general. We mentioned the literary critics and the author's opinions about whether this influence is present or not in Puig's novels, as far as the formal elements (the narrator, characters description, dialogue) as well as the thematic elements (sentimental motives, melodrama) are concerned. In the main part of this work we focused on Puig's novel "Boquitas pintadas" and the study of the artistic means of expression which had been presented in the previous part. We gave a brief characteristic of...

Corporate Performance Management (CPM) in business organizations
Chvalovská, Jana ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Derfler, Václav (referee)
Corporate Performance Management (CPM) is currently one of the most developing branches of informatics due to the fact that it is a tool that allows managers to effectively manage their company and thereby increase its competitiveness in the market. This thesis focuses on the individual elements of the CPM, particularly on the managerial methods, metrics and business processes, which are generally characterized first and then applied to business organizations that operate in the area of retailing. There is also a fourth CPM element - CPM applications, but a detailed description is not covered by this work. The aim of this thesis is mainly to define the basic (core) processes in retailing and describe their characteristics using informatics approaches. Each process is then assigned to managerial methods that can be used in evaluating the performance of these processes and to specific examples of metrics for which appropriate dimensions are further defined. The main contribution of this work is the analysis of processes in the retailing industry, using methods and approaches used in informatics - characteristics such as purpose of the process, events that trigger the process, inputs and outputs of the process and metrics, which are assigned to the corresponding dimensions, are defined for each process.

Transformations of "Bildungsroman": La tía Julia y el escribidor a La Habana para un infante difunto
Kučerová, Markéta ; Fousek, Michal (referee) ; Vydrová, Hedvika (advisor)
The objective of this thesis was to analyse and compare two novels that were published in the late seventies-La tía Julia y el escribidor (1977, Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter) by Peruvian Mario Vargas Llosa and La Habana para un Infante difunto (1979, Infante's Inferno) by Cuban Guillermo Cabrera Infante-and to search for the influences of the novel of formation. We have seen autobiographical elements in both books, analysed different levels of formation of the protagonists and mentioned the (parodic) inclination to the novel of initiation in Infante's Inferno. In the second part of the thesis we focused on other elements developed in both novels, for example the interference of trashy and extraliterary genres and the topic of literature and the occupation of the writer. We have concluded that both novels, although different, share the same platform.

There are considered modern messaging architectonical concepts SOA and EDA in this diploma thesis. There are presented the elementary principals of functioning of these paradigms and principals are given into the wider context with the business processes and IT Governance. The aim of this thesis is to compare two preselected software solutions of the operational monitoring. There is always one solution per architectonical style and predefined comparative criteria. This thesis is divided into five consequential parts. The first part is focused on the putting the modern architectures into the historical context. The historical context is the way out for the modern architectonical styles. The part afterwards is closely focused on the concepts of SOA and EDA, and also on the comparison of the mentioned architectonical styles. There are put the concepts into the connection with business processes and maturity models In the next chapters. That all together has a influence on the successful implementation and governance. The chapters continuously flow into the last theoretical part of the thesis, IT Governance. There are described all the elements connected with the successful IT systems operating based on the paradigm SOA or EDA. The context in the practical part is link to the all these previous chapters. There are selected and described two software solutions in the practical part of this thesis. These solutions are then compared by the predefined criteria. The conclusion summarizes all the knowledge acquired during the paradigm comparison and there are also summarized knowledge acquired during the comparison of selected monitoring products.

Conatimanation of vineyards soils by Cu
Kovářová, Lucie ; Mihaljevič, Martin (advisor) ; Komárek, Michael (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to resume existing knowledge regarding the contamination of vineyard soils with copper, which is mainly caused by a long-term application of Cu-based fungicides used to control wine downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola). The role of Cu as a trace element in the natural environment is discussed, as well as natural Cu contents in soils and in the Earth's crust. This manuscript is based on international scientific articles focusing on the above mentioned subject. The thesis discusses the problems of contamination of vineyard soils by Cu, deposition of Cu compounds into the soils, interaction of Cu with soil components and possible formation of mobile or immobile Cu soil forms, their behavior and factors influencing this behavior and possible environmental risks e.g. phytotoxicity, contamination of water bodies or contamination of fluvial sediments. Additionally, average Cu contents in agricultural soils in Europe and worldwide were compared with European and international guidelines and limits. Total Cu contents in some of the vineyards soils exceed legislative regulations and in case of further utilization of such soils, an additional analysis would be necessary. Key words: contamination, copper, vineyard soils, heavy metals

Solution of a boundary problem with the aid of spline functions
Vu Pham, Quynh Lan ; Dolejší, Vít (advisor) ; Najzar, Karel (referee)
For the given Poisson's equation, we use the finite element method to find an approximate solution. According to the theory of the finite element method, we construct in a certain Sobolev space a finite dimensional subspace; unlike the classical approach, we generate the subspace using a basis of splines. The solution in the subspace approximates both the function and its derivative. This makes the approximation more accurate. 1
