The extension of the editorial profile of the Euromedia Group publishing house following its acquisition of the Odeon mark
Fílová, Tereza ; Halada, Jan (advisor) ; Jonáková, Anna (referee)
The Odeon Publishing House has long been connected with high book culture in Czech literary history. The name Odeon itself has a long pedigree in Czechoslovakia, and dates back to the nineteen twenties, when it fi rst appeared as the name of Fromek's publishing house. Later the State Publishing House of Belles-Iettres, Music and Arts (SNKLHU) appropriated the famou s Odeon mark and subsequently in the nineteen sixties changed its name to Odeon. It ranked, both by volume of sales and by the high quality of its publications from both Czech and foreign authors among the abso lute top in Czechoslovakian culture till the early nineties. The nineties brought for Odeon a short interruption of its publishing, and in fact a suspension of all its activities, in consequence of the socioeconomic changes at that time. The mark Odeon again became synonymous with the highest quality book production when the Euromedia Group company acquired the Odeon mark in 1999 and once again began publishing books under this famous and prestigious mark. The editorial policy of Odeon publishing since 1953 has comprised the broad literary genre from the antiquities until the present day, with the dominance of translation literature, next the literary historical works and the theory of fine art, belles-lettres and aesthethics and also the...

Situation of lifelong education in the Czech Republic
Paška, Miroslav ; Kuchař, Pavel (advisor) ; Tuček, Milan (referee)
The lifelong education or recently more used term lifelong learning conception, is a very actual topic at several sessions, used colloquially, and in many documents written by representatives of several organizations like the European Union, OECD, UNESCO etc. Modern society is associated with a growing volume of information and with the knowledge on how to work with it. On the basis of this fact the idea of a knowledge society was established. In the modern knowledge society the education process is a very important part of social and individual life. Thus, this work deals with the issue of lifelong education (learning) which consists of formal education, non-formal education and informal education. Although formal education is a very important part of lifelong education, from a lifelong education point of view non-formal education is the most important, especially if we focus our attention on the connection between lifelong education and the labour market. The work is based on the concept of human capital, human resources and strives to also include the cultural capital theory. Regarding the development of Czech society after the year 1989, it describes changes in the educational structure which have occurred up to now. It focuses on the secondary and tertiary levels of the educational sphere and compares...

Simkovičová, Jana ; Ebelová, Ivana (advisor) ; Linhartová, Lenka (referee)
The objective of this thesis is to cover the development of international relations of the Czechoslovak and Czech archival science after 1918 up to this day. The international relations primarily stand for the forms of cooperation under the patronage of full statehood, the support on the part of official authority and also scientific institutions. Likewise, the Czech archivists' research at the external archives has been taken into account. It was initiated more intensively in connection with the constitution of our archival administration after 1954. Being a part of the thesis, the overview of official journeys was compiled on the basis of our archivists' reports from the official trips. These reports create a part of the register office that belongs to the Department of the Archives Administration at the Ministry of the Interior. Although the international relations have to all intents and purposes begun to develop aťter 1945. this thesis also includes chapters dealing with the Czechoslovak archival science development after 1918 and the restitutional proceeding in the sphere of archival science after the World War I and World War II. A separate chapter is dedicated to the archives and records disjuncture within the context of the end of the federation in 1993. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Culture and interpreting cultural factors in interpreting into the mother tongue and into a foreign active language

The Czechoslovak church policy in the normalization era 1968/73-1989. From the documents of the Secretariat for the matters of churches of the Ministry of culture of Czech Socialist Republic

Introducing Nursing Care Standard to the Anaesthesiology Clinic
Štěpánková, Jitka ; Holmerová, Iva (advisor) ; Vaculíková, Barbora (referee)
Nowadays, "quality" is a much-used term in connection with the provision of healthcare. Every healthcare provider has as its goal the provision of high-quality services. Its up to each of them to decide both how ambitious they can be in the pursuit of patient satisfaction and how best to achieve this. At the IKEM Anaesthesiology Clinic, we provide post-operative care for patients after cardiac surgery. In the early stages of recovery, patients can suffer acute pain accompanied by a whole range of other symptoms. Insufficient analgesia prevents patients attempting adequate breathing rehabilitation and early post-operative mobilisation. Some patients accept pain as part and parcel of surgery. Even though they are in pain they don't think to ask for analgesia. For these reasons, we decided to research how the patient views his own comfort and rates his experience of the medical care provided in the post-operative department. By means of simple organisational measures - increasing the frequency and relevance of patient feedback, by standardising procedures and introducing standard practices into the analgaesic therapy, it is possible to increase patients' comfort. And this without increasing costs and without unnecessary side-effects.

After-war economic crisis in the Weimar republic and the Dawes plan
Sodomka, Jaroslav ; Stellner, František (advisor) ; Soběhart, Radek (referee)
The subject of this thesis is purposed to characterize both economic and political progress in Weimar republic since the end of World War I till the middle twenties. In this respect, it is a period when Germany, after several years of war struggle ending up as a defeated country, was raving in economic and internal political crisis and also had to face up a diplomatic isolation connected with tough peace conditions from Versailles. The main focus of this study is to analyze German economic depression contextualized with crucial historic events against background of then international diplomacy. Economic analysis is connected especially with explanation of huge hyperinflation, synchronous theoretic hypothesis that formed economic policy of German governments and their comparison with modern monetary economics. Being analyzed are not only causes of depression based in long-term debt funding of war, uncovered money emission and necessity of high reparation payments, but also the process and the way of its termination and overall consequences both political and socioeconomic. After abandonment of inflation episode follows solution of reparation payments adjustment which was necessary for future stabilization of Weimar Republic and final termination of German crisis. The way to stability was provided by London Conference and Dawes plan which are both analyzed in the last part of this thesis.

International impact of unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo
Janicki, Miloš ; Matějka, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Kochan, Jan (referee)
My goal was to attempt to analyze impact of Kosovo crisis on international relations. Kosovo issue and its solutions have shaped two important principles of international relations in the last decade, which by repeating tend to become precedents. The first principle is humanitarian intervention without the mandate of UN, which was first applied in Yugoslavia in 1999. Similar action was applied in several different states during the last decade. Second principle, which is the main subject of my thesis, is unilateral declaration of independence which was recognized by more sovereign states then in previous occasions. By analysis of events in Georgia I tried to prove that separatism could become an instrument of international relations in future. Authority of UN is shaken in last decade and it could lead to reshaping of world order. Single-sided interpretation of morality and principles can replace international law. Apart from analyzing global impact of Kosovo crises I have tried to explore the problem in detail by researching the causes that let to conflict. Most of the attention I have devoted to period between 1974 and 1999, which I find crucial in the forming a situation that led to unilateral declaration in 2008. In the first part of my work I tended to explore international law arguments that were used by both followers and opponents of independence and tried to preview aspects of teory of secession
