Generování vlasů interpolací
Šik, Martin ; Křivánek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Kolomazník, Jan (referee)
This thesis describes a procedural hair generator that is able to generate hair from just a few hairs, called hair guides, which are directly modeled by a 3d artist. The procedural hair generator is a part of Stubble project -- a tool for hair modeling in Autodesk Maya. The procedural hair generator can generate hair during rendering, thus avoiding storage of hair geometry in a scene file, which makes the rendering process very efficient. Furthermore, hair can be generated interactively and displayed by OpenGL during modeling in Maya. Generated hair geometry is mainly defined by interpolation from the mentioned hair guides; however it is also influenced by many hair properties. These properties can change hair geometry using noise functions, define hair color, width and more. To determine hair root positions on a given triangular mesh I use my own mesh sampling algorithm that generates random samples on a triangular mesh according to a density defined by a 2-dimensional texture. My sampling algorithm uses an innovative way of sampling from a discrete probability distribution, which can be used in other applications than mesh sampling.

The Possibilities of Political Participation of the Roma minority in the Czech Republic
Hon, Matěj ; Říchová, Blanka (advisor) ; Gelnarová, Jitka (referee)
In this thesis, the author raises the following question: What is the nature of the efforts of Romani elites at political participation in the Czech Republic and what is their potential? He presupposes that those currents of the Roma ethno-emancipation movement that are not defined sharply against the surrounding society are in a better position. He summarizes the basic facts from the history of the Roma in the Czech Republic with an overlap into the Central European context. He monitors the factors relevant to the examination of political acts of the Roma and subsequently characterizes their own understanding of ethnicity, showing that kinship and sub-ethnic groups are more important for the collective identification of most of the Roma. The theoretical part deals with selected authors who participated in the discussions on multiculturalism, both on the general, international, and on the national level, with special focus on Roma issues. In the final chapter the author tries to apply all the described knowledge to the three most significant projects of the Roma, through which the Romani elites engage in public affairs in the Czech Republic. They are the Union of Gypsies- Roma from the break of 1960s and 1970s, the Roma Civic Initiative, a party active in the 90s, and a civic association called...

Design and Implementation of Small-lot Production Line
Šíl, Petr ; Vdoleček, František (referee) ; Zuth, Daniel (advisor)
This Master's Thesis is focused on the design and control of a small-series production line, for the production of segmetal arches and plastic reductions. It is about the conversion from a semi-automatic line to a fully automatic line. The production line consists of an extruder, a cutting unit, a exhaust unit, three pressing machines and a manipulator. Every single machine has a custom control for which was selected a baseplate with microcontroler ATmega 128 and designed powerful part of inputs and outputs. There is a simple communication between the machines. Appropriate elements were used for conversion of every individual part of the production line. The whole system is programmed with software called AVR Studio4.

Problems of quasi-states : typology and trends
Riegl, Martin ; Hnízdo, Bořivoj (advisor) ; Romancov, Michael (referee) ; Baar, Vladimír (referee)
Thesis "Questions of quasi-states: typology and trends" deals with a specific range of anomalous political units - the so called quasi-states. They represent an unfavourable anomaly in the political space after 1945 which, according to conventional wisdom deemed to be divided between the territories of sovereign states. The international community approach follows from it to their existence but it is strongly differentiated with respect to their heterogeneity. Thesis in its theoretical chapters focuses on the precise definition of terms of sovereignty, sovereign and quasi-state, which definition is in the current environment of political science the subject of academic debate. For this reason I mention the term quasi-state in different conceptions. Subsequently I suggest my own definiton of the quasi-state, which allows the elimination of terminological confusion. The practical part of the work responds to a frequent point of criticism, which is the absence of a comprehensive typology and the list of these specific political-geographical entities.

Visualization and testing of team profiles
Höschl, Cyril ; Mráz, František (advisor) ; Holan, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate methods for visualization and testing team profiles. An individual's profile is a vector of scores representing personality of a team member. Team profile is a collection of individual profiles. The first step for visualization of team profile is to find similarities among individual profiles. We present new approach for measuring similarity between two profiles as a significance of difference expressed by probability. We use this measure both for testing mean difference between two subgroups of profiles and also for building similarity matrix. We represent team profiles as a 3D ladscape map called Sociomap. To create a sociomap we demonstrate own algorithm for projecting similarity matrix into a 2D plane. We compare this algorithm with well known Multidimensional scaling and Principal Component Analysis methods solving the same task. Comparing with MDS and PCA, our algorithm provides more accurate result with comparable demand of time. We also employ some well known Computer Graphics methods to improve visual 3D representation of the sociomap and we also show some new improvements to render sociomap more realistic.

The rise and fall of New Labour : a political ideology or just a trend?
Kopecká, Hana ; Rovná, Lenka (advisor) ; Váška, Jan (referee)
The Diploma thesis "The Rise and Fall of New Labour: A Political Ideology or a Just a Trend?" focuses on the analysis of a British political course called New Labour. The research focuses on internal and external factors that had allowed this ideology to dominate the British politics over the last 13 years under the established brand of Labour Party. This thesis constitutes a comparative case study, based on the theoretical assumption of time, as well as economic and social constrains of the New Labour phenomenon. The circumstances which back in 1997 allowed the election triumph of New Labour, are often similar to those, that let to its decline a decade later, amid the new social, economic and political climate, caused its decline. This hypothesis is confronted with a secondary research based on the evaluation of broader economic, social and political influences. While the study has proved the validity of the New Labour idea in times of favorable economic and political circumstances, such as the combination of divided opposition and economic boom, it has also shown its failure in the times of economic downturn. Although the vision of New Labour was rejected by the current Labour Party, research and the governing coalition prove that the ideology can successfully operate in combination with...

Disagreement about childbirth
Hanousková, Lenka ; Šanderová, Jadwiga (advisor) ; Soukup, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with disagreement between midwives and doctors about the fact where and in which conditions mothers should give birth to a child. While the doctors support the present way when most children are born in hospitals under doctor's control, midwives argue for so called natural childbirth when women deliver the child surrounded by familiar environment and with midwife's assistance. The description of both groups behaviour is based on the theory of Peirre Bourdieu. Midwives are focused on the change of their status in the process of childbirth while doctors want to preserve the present situation. Both groups use different discourses while creating their professional position providing different services. Doctors' way is more technological and clinical, while midwives create their professional position in more psychological way. There is a competitive fight in which both group use strategy of their own professionalization and disprofessionalization of the rival group and different interpretation of the same data. Because of disadvantageous position of midwives in the process of childbirth, they create their own strategies against doctors.

Control Machete: contemporary Mexican music in its social context
Straková, Zita ; Křížová, Markéta (advisor) ; Binková, Simona (referee)
This thesis introduces an analysis of production of the music group Control Machete which belonged to a broader music stream called A vanzada Regia in the nineties of the twentieth century in the city of Monterrey. The production of Control Machete reflects two music genres: rock and hiphop. First chapter summarizes the historical development of rock in Mexico; the differences in comparison to the historic situation in the us are indicated as the genre was overtaken from the us cultural scene. Rock history of both countries is drawn from the social and political point of view. Second chapter contains a historical overview as well: it summarizes the specific features of the style, its relation to the social environment and its historical transformations. Last chapter contains the analysis of the verbal production of Control Machete: reflected influences are studied as well as the expressed social conditions of the production.

The action of the Secretariate for the church affairs in selected sectors in the regions of he ČSR in the normalization era
Čadek, Štěpán ; Cuhra, Jaroslav (referee) ; Rychlík, Jan (advisor)
Primatily on regional character of the (comunist) state church policy focused works you are handing, depicts also the work routine of the church secretaries (CT), who were in the Czech socialistic republik (ČSR) of the normalization era (1969 - 1989) the ones responsible for every step in that sector. Every branch of the state administration has, obviously, its hierarchical structure and in this case we are talking about the department of Ministry of the culture, who se name was The Secretariate for the church (or ecclesiastical) affairs, shortly called SPVc. This bureaau had its deputies by the regional and district state administration, the regional called KNV (regional national comittee), the district ones by the name were ONV (district national comittee). These deputies were profesionally known as referents, also referent for church affairs, but oficially named as was mentioned above, in distinction level as OCT (district) or KCT (region). CT, as we should say, can be seen like an base unit for the supervision above the churches. For this work OCT depended on small army of agents, whose information were so important for the "inner sight" in the actions of the common priests (the reprezentatives - bishops, seniors and so on were still watched by agent s of the secret police and the most prominent of them...

Portraits and portrait motifs in work of Petr Brandl
Trojanová, Gabriela ; Royt, Jan (referee) ; Horyna, Martin (advisor)
The presented graduation thesis is focused on the sphere of the Bohemian baroque painting and is called "Portraits and portrait motifs in work of Peter Brandl". Text of the thesis is divided into three particular parts. The first one is devoted to summary of existing research about Peter Brandl's work (Acta Brandliana). The second part is shortly introducing painter's biography. The third and final part represents the focal point of graduation theses. The author is here concentrated on Brandl's portrait painting, whereas first of all she summarises findings, relating to conserved authentic portraits and selfportraits. Consequently, the author is concerned with the question of missing, debatable or mistakenly attributed, reflecting opinions of notable specialists and also personal knowledges obtained by immediate experience in artworks. In the last chapter the author thinks about appearance of portrait motifs in nonportrait paintings of Peter Brandl. The main meaning of this graduation thesis consists in answering some questions and location of new impulses for next research.
