Development of vital lung capacity in children
Navrátilová, Nela ; Sedlak, Petr (advisor) ; Novák, Jan (referee)
Deficiency of physical activity can negatively affect the functional and morphological development of an individual. This bachelor thesis provides a basic overview of the anatomy of the respiratory system and the development of the lungs in the prenatal and postnatal period. It also follows up the development of lung function in children and the factors that influence this development. The parameters of the greatest informative value from the point of view of morphological and consequently also functional differentiation of the lungs are forced expiratory volume in t second, forced vital capacity and Tiffeneau-Pinelli index. These parameters of lung function are used by most studies that have evaluated the relationship between their level of development and the child's physical activity. The effect of physical activity on the development of lung function was recorded mainly in the pubertal and prepubertal periods. The health condition of the child is also limiting for the proper development of lung functions. Different values compared to healthy individuals occur, for example, in individuals with cystic fibrosis or asthma. Key words: Vital capacity of the lungs; spirometry; physical activity

Methods: To achieve the goal of the thesis there were used methods such as primary external data analysis, in-depth interview, online survey, participant observation and SWOT analysis Results: Aspects of communication of the organizational matters and organization of Draft and The Finals are among the strengths of the programme. Weaknesses such as the number of schools and high competitive game requirements for schools participating in the programme are found to be severe. The biggest opportunity of the project is in getting bigger and more intense cooperation of clubs both within the project and in a way of approaching more kids for their youth programmes or after-school activities. Sport events which will be taking place next year or years after can be significantly used for promotion of the project and Czech basketball as well.
