Position and activities of licensed executors
Jaroš, František ; Macková, Alena (advisor) ; Pohl, Tomáš (referee)
Status and activity of private executors The theme of execution and institution of private executors is still very actual nowadays. Partly this is due to enforcement of adjudications by courts lurking in the time when our law provides another possibility to settle a claim by private executors and partly this is caused by last amendments to our legal regulations of executions and executors. One of the important state's tasks besides finding the law between parties which are in dispute is to assure that admission of plaintiff's demand will be realized. The state provides two ways to obtain this claim in Czech Republic. This system is primarily based on the state courts, but inefficiency and disadvantages of this system led in the year 2001 to new legal regulation which brought institution of private executors to our law. Henceforth, everybody can choose how to achieve fulfilment of judgment debt. The new system of private executors is more efficient and flexible, which mean that particular cases are solved out in shorter time with identical or even preferable result as by enforcement of judgment by court. For this reason more and more people avail oneself of the services of private executors. State delegates a part of its authority to executors who exercise the executions as a business activity, so they are...

Perception of the Ethnic Identity on the Frontier Between Two Cultures
Jonáš, Juraj ; Šatava, Leoš (advisor) ; Pargač, Jan (referee)
Synopsis The aim of this work is to analyse the difference between two different perceptions of ethnicity. On the one side there are people living in places relativlely homogenous in sence of the ethnic diversity, on the other side there are people living in places relatively heterogenous in the same sence. The assumption of this work is that the environment where this people live (ethnic heterogeneity/ homogeneity) has influence to their perception of the ethnicity itself. The core of the work is a research focused at the comparison of the mental model of the ethnicity of the people living in two different environments. First group are citizens of Košice and Trebišov. In both cities predominate Slovak population. Second group is the people living in the region of Horné Medzibodrožie where the big part of population is Hungarian. For the ascertainment have been used the survey mapping the respondent's enviroment and related traits. Respondent's implied model of ethnicity (the one which determines in a big part his acts related to this subject), explicit model of ethnicity (the one which is claimed by the respondent), the intensity of the interethnic relationship, national symbols and the importance of the respondent's ethnic identity. This respondent's point of view have been put in context with other his...

Far right in Scandinavia: achievements and failures
Košatková, Iva ; Bureš, Jan (advisor) ; Buben, Radek (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with far right parties in Scandinavia and their achievements and failures since their birth in the beginning of the seventies. Conditions of the origin and development of the contemporary far right parties and a definition of this ideological party family are analyzed on the background of a broader theoretical framework. The thesis pursues ideological-political and programmatic shifts of the Progress Party (FrPd) and Danish People's Party (DFP) in Denmark, Progress Party (FrPn) in Norway and New Democracy (NyD) in Sweden and their contemporary role within the system using Beyme's concept of three waves of the postwar far right in Western Europe. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out which factors and conditions were relevant for the emergence and subsequent consolidation of new far right parties in the three respective Scandinavian party systems chosen as subjects of this comparative analysis. Comparing the two successful far right parties - the Norwegian and Danish Progress Parties plus the Danish People's Party - with the negative case of Sweden's New Democracy, the thesis concludes that economic stability and prosperity with low unemployment rate on the system level and charismatic leadership with strong party organisation on the party level are most favourable to the...

Gene expression analysis in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome
Vašíková, Alžběta ; Votavová, Hana (advisor) ; Neuwirtová, Radana (referee) ; Jarošová, Marie (referee)
Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is a clonal disorder affecting maturation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells. MDS is characterized by ineffective hematopoiesis resulting in peripheral blood cytopenia in at least one lineage, and increased risk of development of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). This disorder mostly affects the elderly, with the incidence of 10-50/100000 people per year. Heterogeneity of MDS is further underlined by the presence of both idiopathic primary and secondary therapy-related forms, which arise from accumulation of mutational events induced by cytotoxic therapy (exposure to alkylating agents or after therapy with topoisomerase II inhibitors). In this thesis, we focused on determination of differential gene expression between MDS patients and control subjects using different microarray platforms. Using nylon membranes, we detected 4 genes (ERCC1, FLT1, NME4, PCNA) with increasing expression pattern in advanced MDS stages, which correlated with disease progression. Their strong up- regulation was also observed in patients with de novo AML, suggesting their involvement in the leukemic transformation of MDS. Comparison of gene expression profiles of early and advanced MDS obtained by Agilent microarrays resulted in the set of differentially expressed genes, which might...

Position of people with disabilities in labour market

The Meaning and Perception of Local Smal-Town Cinema
Bargel, Robert ; Gibas, Petr (advisor) ; Pauknerová, Karolína (referee)
This diploma thesis is an ethnographic study of a local small-town cinema in Řevnice near Prague. It analyzes social, cultural - or symbolic - meanings of this cinema with respect to a wider social and cultural context. Because the cinema, as a place, is constituted by the social practice of "cinema-going", this thesis is a "thick description" of spectators' lived experience in that space. The author of this thesis employs the interpretative approach of Geertz as well as the approaches of phenomenologicaly oriented thinkers of Patočka, Berger, Luckmann and Tuan. The author's research reveals that in current times, there is a strong symbolic polarity between small cinemas and multiplexes. Small cinemas are seen to be in opposition to the "popcorn culture" of the multiplexes on the levels of aesthetics, morals, ethics etc. In the case of the cinema in Řevnice, the local character of the facility is very important too. It not only distinguishes this cinema from multilpexes, but it also helps form local identity incorporated by the town and its inhabitants. The author also points out the differences between young and older people's perception of cinemas in general caused by their different previous experiences. In order to capture the wider cultural context of the cinema, the author uses the work of...

Availability of urban green spaces in European cities
Malach Čejková, Petra ; Čihař, Martin (advisor) ; Reif, Jiří (referee)
Most of the European population and half of the world population lives in cities and their share will probably continue to increase (UN, 2010). With increasing urbanization, urban green spaces are becoming the most available means of contact with "nature" for more and more people. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to try to determine which factors affect the recreational use of urban green spaces. As the main factor was expected the availability of green spaces, ie. their quantity in the area of residence. The basis of the thesis was available literature on this subject, confronted with the outcomes of visitors monitoring in five forests in Prague between May 2009 and April 2010. The visitors monitoring followed a long series of studies, which were executed mainly by Institute for Enviromental Studies, Faculty of Science,Charles University, mostly as a dissertation thesises, in Prague forests and in Czech national parks. In this submitted thesis, particular attention was paid to data from the Prokopske udoli, where the author coordinated the visitors monitoring. During the 12 days of visitors monitoring, 14 359 visitors passed through the intersection of the main counting station - of which 59% walkers and 41% cyclists, moreover 868 dogs, 388 cars and 456 prams. Total estimated traffic is in the...
