Adults with Specific Learning Disabilities and/or AD(H)D - coping with the handicap

The bachelor thesis focuses on adults with specific learning disabilities and/or AD(H)D, namely on their coping strategies in adulthood. The thesis is traditionally divided into theoretical and empirical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part explains basic terminology linked with specific learning disabilities and/or AD(H)D, their symptoms, and emotional and social aspects of the deficit in the early age. The next chapter concentrates on adults with specific learning disabilities and/or AD(H)D, especially a negative impact of their difficulties which make work achievements complicated. The final chapter of the theoretical part describes typical emotional reactions which adults with specific learning disabilities and/or AD(H)D suffer from. The aim of the practical part is to describe the process of coping with the handicap of specific learning disabilities and/or AD(H)D. The research uses a qualitative methodology. It first states problems at work and in the course of university study which are connected with specific learning disabilities and/or AD(H)D. Making a methodology for creating multimedia teaching applications

The aim of this thesis is to pass on the specific view on problems of multimedia and e-learning in teaching including making a methodology for creating multimedia teaching application. The methodology will make the work of creating multimedia teaching application easier for the creators (especially teachers). As a component of this thesis is a detailed description of functionality of software Camtasia Studio. This software offers sufficient quantity of functions for creating the multimedia data. This software was used in creating a few sample multimedia applications. This created multimedia applications were tested by students and succeeded. The thesis is concentrated on all teachers and offers them a chance for better teaching. It is not limited for teachers, it also can be used by other people. There are also mentioned problems of compression, codecs and formats, which are related to the subject of this thesis. There is also mentioned a topic concerned with communication, because it is considered as a part of teaching.

Intermediality in the children's book (on examples of works of Petr Nikl, František Skála, Květa Pacovská and Petr Šmalec)

This thesis deals with intermedial play with words and pictures in author's book for children and teens. In he first theoretical chapter, reader learns the specific attributes of literature for children and teenagers from the literary and art point of view, it means he will get to know rules of the play with word and picture and their functions in the literature for children and teenagers. Second chapter is dedicated to the game, the basic attributes of the game and game in the literature for the children and teenagers that is best represented by the intermediate author's book, by a book-toy. These are the books that unite words and pictures in one artistic complex, to which the play with sound is added. Electronic media take sometimes part in the game as well. Third chapter is dedicated to the concrete examples of words', pictures' and creative games' connection made by authors of books for children and teenagers. The comparative analysis of European educational programmes (as an inspiration for foreign language education by the topics of social sciences)

The main aim of the Comparative analysis of European Educational Programmes is to inspire the instruction of foreign language by the topics of social sciences. The basis of the work is a theoretical comparative analysis of the European Educational Programmes, institutions and documents under the auspices of European Union and United Nations. Foreign language education is connected to The Frame Educational Programmes, Key competencies, Personal and social education and Content and Language Integrated Learning. In the frame of the theme the topics such as Common European Framework of Reference, language exams, teacher education or contemporary trends in language education are acknowledged. Another relevant subject is the participation of The Czech Republic in the European Educational Programmes. In the concrete chapters the ideas of language diversity and intercultural dialogue are mentioned. At the end of the work the comparative analysis is undertaken in the topical and methodical context of the programmes. The verifying of eight hypotheses defined in the frame of four criterias leads to deriving four main results of the analysis. Analysis of Biljana Srbljanović's dramatic work between the years 1996-2003

The object of my MA thesis is the analysis of works by the contemporary Serbian playwright Biljana Srbljanovié (*1970). She graduated in dramaturgy at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade between the years 1991 - 1996. Her MA thesis was her verv own drama called ''Beograd trí/ogy" ("Beogradska trilogija"). Biljana Srbljanovié is the author of such plays as ''Fami/y Ta/es" ("Porodične priče" - 1998), "The Fa/I" ("Pad" - 1999), "Supermarket, a Soap Opera" ("Supermarket, soap opera" - 2001), ''Ameríca/ Part Two" ("Amerika, drugi deo" - 2003). She received many prestigious domestic awards including the Sterijino Pozorje Award. She managed to get accepted with German speaking audiences on German stages between the years 1998 - 2000. Biljana Srbljanovié' s dramas were published and produced in more than fifty domestic and foreign theaters. As the first foreign author she received the Ernest Toller Award in 1999. The works by Biljana Srbljanovié can be divided into two periods. The first begins with her debut "Beograd trí/ogyl~ and ends in 1999 with "The Fa/I". The second period is distinguished by the two remaining dramas "Supermarket" and ''Ameríca ". Tourism as an instrument of intercultural learning

The final thesis clarifies impacts of tourism on the tourist's personality in the field of intercultural learning and compares programmes of the European Union, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and companies dealing with intercultural learning through student exchanges. It also focuses on the importance of intercultural learning for professionals in tourism industry. In the introduction author defines basic terms related to this issue, further she treats of motivations to travel and then adverts on the impact of long-term travelling on the tourist's personality, so that she explains the iceberg concept of culture, culture shock and intercultural sensitivity. In the following part she compares the programmes of different institutions. The final part of the thesis appoints the importance of intercultural learning for all who work in the tourism industry on the example of French and Japanese.

Eligibility of primary school pupils to manage their time

The topic of this thesis is procrastination. Procrastination is "the illogical, but deliberate delaying of planned action, which is accompanied by a commitment to alternative activities." (Sliviaková 2010, p. 3). Occasional procrastination however mostly harmless is only a small step from procrastination chronic. Chronic procrastination already points at undesirable situation, the malfunction of a healthy lifestyle and self-control. That view is the starting point for the research work of the problem, which investigates the symptoms of procrastination among primary and secondary school pupils. Procrastination is usually being considered in relation to adults' behaviour. The question asked is whether it is relevant to consider procrastination also in relation to children at primary school. In the theoretical part, we therefore first gathered and compiled the available data about the topic from various Czech and foreign sources, mainly to define with necessary precision the object of the study (procrastination) and learned the wider context of the issue (time management, self- management). The airn of this diplorna thesis is to analyze the Common European Framework oJ ReJerence Jor Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assesment (CEF) and its irnportant by-product, the European Language Portfolio (ELP). Also the current situation of foreign language teaching in the Czech Republic after the release of the abovernentioned docurnents will be dealt with. The scope ofthis thesis will be focused rnainly ofGerrnan as a foreign language and its position arnong other foreign languages taught in the Czech Republic. An analysis of chosen German language textbooks used in current language education is included. The analysis is focused on the textbooks' fulfilling the criteria of current European language policy. The explorative study included in this thesis focuses on the language teachers' awareness of the issue of CEF and ELP and their opinions on advantages and disadvantages ofthe two docurnents concerned. Using the outcorne ofthe study, we try to articulate our own suggestions on improving the CEF.

Psychosis and school reality, how to learn with psychosis

The subject of this thesis is difficulties with return to studies and the strategies of coping these situations of young people with serious mental illness. The theoretical part introduces the issue schizophrenia. It describes the difficulties and the deficits that arise in the person's life due to the illness. In detail, I explain the coping strategies of these people, the concept of early prevention and therapy of mentall illness and the international examples of supported education of people with schizophrenia. The practical part consists of five case studies of young people with psychosis who decided to return to their school life. The main issue of interest is finding the difficulties, that can appear in the process of the return, and especially tracking the strategies of coping the sdifficulties. As following, there is a wider picture of coping strategies discussed, the similarities and differences between the strategies of these five people explored and described strategies are related to the individual's studying success. Southern gothic family in the works of Flannery O'Connor and Walker Percy

The literature anthologized under the label "American Southern Gothic" should be described and a thorough definition of the term should be given before an examination of one aspect of Gothicism in selected works by Flannery O'Connor and Walker Percy. To do so, it is necessary to separate the two components of the term and define each of them individually, i.e. we must deal first with the concepts of "Southern literature" and "Gothic art," and only then present a comprehensive definition of the joint category. According to Veronica Makowsky, in its most basic sense Southern literature is writing about the South, but this definition, as Makowsky herself admits, has many complications and thus she presents a more satisfying, theme-based definition: "Topically, Southern writing can concern the South or a Southerner's experience elsewhere, but it can also include a Southerner's writing on a non-Southern topic from a non-Southern point of view.,,1 As the quotation makes clear, it is not at all easy to define the literature of the South concisely and completely.
