Management of Undo/Redo Operations in Complex Environments
Jakubec, Karel ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Lokoč, Jakub (referee)
During past thirty years, several models for non-linear undo models have been presented, but almost none solves undoing and redoing actions in environments, where multiple history buffers are involved and when there are causal dependencies among separate actions. This thesis focuses on developing a new model, which allows a user to select any action from any history buffer. The key part of the model is a smart command design and undo manager, which searches for dependencies and offers possible solutions to the user. The results are presented in the context of the DaemonX framework.

Curses and apotropaic magie in ancient Egypt
Stuchlá Libertová, Klára ; Janák, Jiří (advisor) ; Gebelt, Jiří (referee)
Annotation: This thesis is focused on curses, i. e. specific magical texts used in old Egypt, and apotropaic or protective magic. According to its emphasis, the text can be defined as a theoretical-comparative study, its aim being to point at the fact that curses as part of apotropaic magic create a vast complex of texts which were being used in all levels of Ancient Egyptian society. The aim of its particular chapters is to introduce the reader to the concept of apotropaic magic, and give an argumentated overview of the curses' occurrence and function. The work also provides interpretations of selected texts, and it should enable the reader to see this whole field of study - very often neglected - in a whole new light. Keywords: magic - heka - apotropaic magic - curses - threats - akh - spells - maat - Thovt - on the mouth

Agent-based behavioral finance
Jarolímek, Tomáš ; Švarc, Petr (advisor) ; Vácha, Lukáš (referee)
This bachelor thesis criticizes current conception of economics and introduces new approach called complexity economics. It mainly concerns with unrealistic and reality deforming assumptions, static form of economics and efficient-market hypothesis. On the other side positively evaluates findings of behavioral economics and usage of modern computer-related computational methods. For this purpose it introduces new model of artificial stock market based on prospect theory and continuous double auction.

Nové inhibitory HIV proteasy: návrh, synthesa a testování aktivity
Schimer, Jiří ; Konvalinka, Jan (advisor) ; Obšil, Tomáš (referee)
More than 20 years after its discovery HIV protease still remains one of the primary targets in HIV treatment. Currently there are 9 approved protease inhibitors on the market. However, due to immense replication rate and the high error prone nature of reverse transcriptase, resistance to each of them has already been described. Therefore, the search for new protease inhibitors with different binding mode is still active. A novel type of protease inhibitors (1, 4-benzodiazepine analogs) was recently discovered in our laboratory. Even though this new class of inhibitors is highly potent (Ki' in range of 10-9 ), it also has several undesirable qualities, such as low solubility and a high number of stereogenic centers. Primary objective of this study was to try to prepare more soluble compounds with lower number of possible stereoisomers, enzymologically characterize its binding to the wild-type and mutated HIV protease and to determine its structure in the complex with the enzyme. A small library of 1, 4-benzodiazepine inhibitors of HIV protease was synthesized and fully characterized using NMR spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy. The number of stereogenic centers was successfully reduced from 4 to 2 without loosing activity of the inhibitor. The improvement in solubility was always associated with a...

Plazmové stříkání nanokeramiky - oxidu hlinitého a zirkoničitého
Chráska, Tomáš ; Neufuss, Karel ; Nohava, Jiří ; Dubský, Jiří
A novel material has been plasma sprayed by water stabilized plasma torch (WSP®) in order to achieve nanocrystalline microstructure. The new material is composed of three main compounds, namely corundum (alpha Al2O3), baddeleyite (monoclinic ZrO2), and glassy phase (SiO2). The ratio of Al2O3 – ZrO2 compounds is close to that of their respective eutectic alloy. Both dense coatings and free standing parts were produced with the new material, which sprays very well by WSP®. Spraying parameters were varied and molten particles were monitored in flight. The coatings exhibit very low porosity and high hardness. The as-sprayed material is mostly amorphous with some nanocrystalline grains of aluminum and zirconium oxide present. The microstructure of the newly sprayed material was studied by electron microscopy (SEM, TEM) and was found to be very complex. Upon annealing, the as-sprayed material fully crystallizes at around 950ºC. Selected mechanical properties were measured as well.

Media and society in Japan : the character and transformation of media, communication and mediapolitical complex in a non-western society
Pruša, Igor ; Kraus, Jiří (advisor) ; Sýkora, Jan (referee) ; Rostinský, Joseph N. (referee)
The general aim of this thesis is to contribute to a deeper understanding of the Japanese media and communication in contemporary society. It also hopes to widen the integrated and internationalized framework for understanding the universal dynamism and complexity of media and their audiences in context of global technological and cultural transformation. Our research is mostly a cross-disciplinary integration of media & communication studies and Japanese philology. The starting point of this thesis is focused on the summary of theoretical knowledge about the "de-westernization of media studies" which presents an attempt to step out of the originally Anglo-American media communication paradigm, where mainly American theories and approaches have been widely used to explain global media processes and communication patterns. Informed by the de-westernized perspective, we focus on the case of Japanese society, its reception of texts within everyday cultural practices and media routines, since these serve as platforms where ideological features are embedded, reproduced and maintained. We also deal with specific cultural forms of constructing and understanding of Self, and Group in Japanese society, since these notions are again reflected in some patterns of Japanese interpersonal (verbal/nonverbal)...

Film as medium
Vodrážková, Katrin ; Bystřický, Jiří (advisor) ; Marcelli, Miroslav (referee)
Work deals with film as a medium, which is based in the broad sense of the concept of media philosophy, the core field of electronic culture, in the narrower sense is the theme set in the philosophy of film. Here I refer to the importance and functioning of the film as a medium, that brings a new dimension of vision, space and time. This media is a thinking and percipient medium, environment raising a new forms and concepts of vision, this medium needs a vision, and the vision in turn requires thinking. One previously tried to explain the outside world through symbols, which were combined into images, but gradually it became the image is too complex. Then tried to explain through pictures and text fonts linear nature of thinking has brought a new element - time. But now the man finds himself in a situation where he meets with the return of paintings, because of the complexity of the texts of modern times. Invention, the technical picture which can explain the text and becomes a reality. You need to be able to see beneath the surface of the mechanism of this type, including photographs and film, and not see only the inputs and outputs. With that is also linked to new forms of visual display sequence and other technology and way of seeing, or a comparison between the exe of the viewer and camera.

Liability for Defective Products (Product Liability)
Gajdoš, Adam ; Švestka, Jiří (referee) ; Hendrychová, Michaela (referee)
114 Resume - Liability for Defective Products (Product Liability) This study deals with the subject of product liability law. This is a growing area in which manufacturers and suppliers are finding themselves more and more responsible for the quality of their products and for the consequences flowing from any defects therein. There is a growing amount of litigation throughout the world tackling the problems arising from the safety of products. These laws take into account the manufacturing process, the transportation, storage and delivery of goods, the intended use of products, their fitness for such purpose, and any warning or instructions as to use given to consumers and end- users. Injuries caused by products began to give rise to serious policy concerns in the second half of the 20th century, when the combined effect of increasingly sophisticated consumer products automated large-scale production processes and modern distribution chains left the end-user in a difficult position. The end-user was purchasing a product not from the manufacturer directly, but from a retailer who might stand a number of steps away from the manufacturer in the distribution chain. The complex processes of product development and manufacture were internal to the manufacturer and thus unknown to the end-user and probably to the...

Alternative synthesis of of 1-(diphenylphosphino)-1'-(N,N-dimethylaminomethyl)ferrocene
Zábranský, Martin ; Štěpnička, Petr (advisor) ; Vojtíšek, Pavel (referee)
An alternative, more straightforward and effective method for the preparation of 1- (diphenylphosphino)-1'-(N,N-dimethylaminomethyl)ferrocene was developed using 1-bromo- 1'-(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene as the starting material and Eschenmoser's salt as an aminomethylation agent. Purity of thus prepared phosphinoamine was verified by 1 H and 31 P NMR spectroscopy and by comparison of the data with those reported in the literature (M. E. Wright, Organometallics, 1990, 9, 853). The coordination chemistry of this compound was investigated in gold(I) complexes. Thus, chlorido[1-(diphenylphosphino)-1'-(N,N-dimethyl- aminomethyl)ferrocene]gold(I) complex was synthesized and converted to ill-defined [1- (diphenylphosphino)-1'-(N,N-dimethylaminomethyl)ferrocene]gold(I) perchlorate by halogen abstraction with AgClO4. Protonization of the nitrogen atom in both compounds with hydrogen chloride yielded the corresponding hydrochlorides. It was shown that 1- (diphenylphosphino)-1'-(N,N-dimethylaminomethyl)ferrocene is coordinated as a simple phosphine in the resulting complexes while its amine nitrogen is protonated. All these complexes were characterized by means of 1 H, 31 P and 13 C NMR spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy with electrospray ionisation, elemental analysis and by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.

Řešení správy dokumentů ve firmě E-solutions, s.r.o.
Švanda, Jan ; Kunstová, Renáta (advisor) ; Svěžen, Zdeněk (referee)
Presented thesis is focused to the document management system in the firm E-solutions, Ld. Selection of this firm is purposeful, because I have been working in the firm for several years. My thesis is targeted to the complex analysis of document management system (DMS) in the firm and the results of the analysis will be used for the implementation of new DMS. The target is accomplished by following steps, which can be expressed as partial concrete goals: First, the present situation of DMS in the firm is described, next, the detail description of the documents, the system should work with, is presented. Description of these documents is structured to the DMS needs. Subsequently firm processes which should DMS support are identified and analysed. These processes are converted to the optimal conditions to maximize their effectiveness in the DMS support. Integral part of the analysis is the consistent collection of the requirements to the new system. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes DMS generally, explains basic principles of DMS (characteristics, documentation and functionality) and creates base line for the practical part. The more comprehensive practical part of the thesis is directed to the document management in the firm E-solutions, Ld. Presentation of the basic information about the firm is followed by detail solution of partial goals. Assessment of the achieved results creates the final part of the work. The thesis will serve in the firm or at a contactor of DMS as the base for the selection, parameterisation and implementation of the concrete DMS solution.
