Mechanical properties of soils of the Kolný sand pit
Englmaierová, Martina ; Boháč, Jan (advisor) ; Miča, Lumír (referee)
This thesis originated as a part of the PhD research carried out by Mgr. Radek Suchomel. To calibrate a hypoplastic model for granular materials a large number of laboratory tests was needed and a part of the testing constitutes the present thesis. The hypoplastic model by von Wolffersdorff (1996) has eight materials parameters. The critical state fiction angle φc', which was obtained directly by the measurement of the angle of repose, is one of the eight parameters. Other parameters are determined form the results of experiments and empirically. Aim of this thesis was to carry out field and laboratory tests, to determine selected soil properties and to interpret them with regard to the variability of the soil in the selected face of the sand pit. The material for investigation comes from the south part of the Cretaceous Třeboň Basin in the South Bohemia from the Kolný sand pit. The pit is located in the upper part of the Klikov layers. The fluvial layers are characterised by rhythmical variation of gravely sands, sands and sands with dark grey clayey inclusion. Samples were taken in the face of the sand pit with the dimensions of 9 x 36 m. The following tests were performed: drained triaxial compression test (38 samples), oedometric compression test (38 samples), measurement of the angle of repose...

Hurníková, Kateřina
This thesis is oriented to teaching recorder playing as well as recorder role on musicians training on elementary and secondary schools. I am interested in the issue both as being interpret as well as educationalist. Recorder is widely used and popular on every type of school. It is being used even on healing respiratory disorders. However, teaching of recorder faces many problems. Outdated textbooks containing erroneous statements or poor qualified teachers underestimating lessons and without interesting in its own skills improving, to count some of them. Deeply surveying these facts I found out that teaching may have certain level but what is almost completely missing is creativity. And it is creativity which is meaningful for instrument skills as well as complete personality development. I proposed and formed creativity development exercises and arranged it to three groups: 1. Breathing 2. Articulation 3. Fingering Implementation of some exercises is clear and other are provided by music sheets. The teacher and pupils are not expected to practice it verbally, it can be used as patterns for own teacher's creativity, instead. It's efficiency was proved by my own practice and many teachers is interested into it now. Complying to my original ideas they are modifying it for their specific needs. Our...

Fořtová, Hana ; Kučera, Rudolf (advisor) ; Čapek, Jakub (referee) ; Pechar, Jiří (referee)
The aim of the dissertation is to clarify concept of nature in the major work of Montesquieu, The Spirit ofthe Laws. In fact we cannotfully comprehend political theory of the author without a proper understanding of his conception of human nature. The majority of interpreters treating this question regard Montesquieu as a follower of the modern school of natural law, mainly Grotius and Pufendorf, and they focus their attention on concepts of "natural right" and "natural law". Nevertheless, Montesquieu employs these terms rarely and he prefers to speak simply of "nature"; moreover, he does not offer a systematic analysis of the concept of natural right, neither any elaborate theory of human nature. The general notion of "nature" enables usto explore the scientific meaning of this term covering theory of climate, as one of the central points of author's politicaltheory. The first part of dissertation analyses the scientific meaning of the concept of nature. Through his activities at Bordeaux Academy Montesquieu was not only a spectator of the scientific revolution but he played the role of an active participant in this field. We focused on the author's attitude to the new idea of nature, mainly with regard to his attempt to understand human body. Montesquieu shares the Cartesian mechanistic conception of...

This diploma thesis deals with a subject of taking advantage of visualization during the process of product presentation. If this influence is proven, a second goal is set up, namely detection of effects of chosen factors of visual presentation on consumer's decision process. Diploma thesis is divided into 6 chapters. The first introduces the topic to the reader and familiarize him with the goals and structure. Second chapter theoretically describes fundamental terms of communication, especially visual communication. The third chapter covers issues concerning the product itself and its advertisement. This chapter brings to the end theoretical part, which gathers information partly from professional literature and partly from authors' knowledge and experiences. Practical part forms the main element of the thesis. Fourth part consists of various methods for analyzing previously questioned problems in detail. Sample questionnaire examining consumer's preference is drawn up as well as graphical proposals of product design. Chapter ends up with a summary of results found out during the query survey. Results are interpreted in details in the fifth chapter, together with an attempt to draw general conclusion. Last chapter summarizes gathered information and evidence. Contribution of this work is not only to emphasize the significance of product cover and its effect on sale. Corporations or more precisely their marketing departments should realize this fact while creating marketing plan and especially advertisement plan. They should pay more attention on appearance of the product cover.
