The Mesha Stele: The Translation and Analysis of an Epigraphic Text
Klimešová, Michaela ; Prudký, Martin (advisor) ; Čapek, Filip (referee)
This thesis introduces Mesha stele to Czech audience. The most important task was a translation of the original text into Czech and accompaning concise commentary. There are a few rewrites of several authors, which were exploited for the translation. The fundamental text is taken from Gibson. The Smelik's version was a pattern for partitioning of the text. With literary analysis, an emphasis was put on an analysis of expressions as well as comparison various parts of the texts and temporary customs as well. The stele is writen in specific temporal and local dialect, and therefore a comparison of the Mesha stele with other inscriptions of that era was quite rewarding. Separate chapter deals with topography, which is hard to be grasped. Reader might appreciate a matching of ancient and modern places on a few maps and charts. Very important part of this work is a comparison of the Mesha stele and the text from 2 Kings 3 citing Mesha, the king of Moab, who fought with the kings of Izrael, Judah, and Edom. Old Testament devotes quite long chapter to this ruler. For the completeness, there are also circumstances of the inscription's discovering. It is very bizzare because the stele was not found by controlled archeological explorations. It was even destructed and the way to its renovation was very complicated and...

The bachelor's thesis is about AIMMS -- a system for mathematical modeling. The aim of the thesis is to create a simple user's guide for interested individuals that want to use this system on the basic level. Practical part is about making models of selected distribution problems. Thesis is organized into three main chapters. The first chapter is about linear programming and selected distribution problems of linear programming. There is outlined development of linear programming and its place in mathematical modeling. In this chapter, mathematical models of selected distribution problems as transportation problem, container-transportation problem, allocation problem, covering problem and assignment problem are formulated. The second chapter is about AIMMS and describes how to work with this system. It contains basic information about the system and its author J. Bisschop. The next part informs how to work with system AIMMS. There is a way of declaration of individual sections and procedures in Model Explorer discussed. The AIMMS Page Manager, a tool for creating end-user's pages, is described. By this tool the end-user can change data sets and obtain results of analyzed problems. The third chapter is practical part. It contains the description of selected distribution problems with the emphasis on their implementation in AIMMS. Appendix contains end-pages of selected distribution problems and the list of solvers supported by AIMMS.

Comparison of graphical interface of Blesk from 1933 and 2012
Mojžíšová, Marcela ; Láb, Filip (advisor) ; Slanec, Jaroslav (referee)
This paper "Comparison of Blesk's graphic pages of 1993 and 2012" deals with the analysis of best-selling graphic presentation of the Czech tabloid Blesk. The first part is devoted to general visual characteristics of printed materials. This theoretical framework is important to determine the area under the examination and definition of the key terms which I work with in the practical part. Comparing the visual aspects of Blesk from 1993 and 2012, I selected one week from each or five issues from the daily of one week (Monday - Friday). The subsequent analysis focuses on the overall visual aspect of particular issues (format, size, margins) and the sub-characters used such as a color photograph, the arrangement of the parts with an emphasis on the title page, the title of establishment and the usage of other graphic accessories. After the description of typographic character of each period separately I focus on the chapter. The aim is to compare two files and investigate the changes that have occurred in the course of nineteen years, if there are any. The conclusion is dedicated to my personal impression from the selected material of two years and evaluates the contribution of this work.

KISS: Interpreter's strategy during the interpreting into the mother tongue and into the B language
Malkovská, Alžběta ; Sládková, Miroslava (referee) ; Čeňková, Ivana (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the topic of the KISS strategy ("Keep it short and simple") as a hypothetical ideal solution for simultaneous interpreting into the active language. The purpose of this theoretical and empirical study is to describe the issue of interpreting into the active language (B language) and the strategies used in simultaneous interpreting, with emphasis on the KISS strategy. The paper is divided into two parts: theoretical part and empirical part. In the theoretical part, we set up the working hypothesis that we will confirm or disprove in the empirical part. We suppose that the KISS strategy is the ideal and predominant mechanism used for interpreting into the B language. The "retour" or interpretation into the active foreign language presents one of the most discussed topics on the field of interpretation theory. For a long time, Western Europe has been under the influence of the Interpretive Theory of Translation based at the ESIT in Paris. The Interpretive Theory of Translation was followed by many theoreticians and practicians who considered the "retour" to be a non-standard or even inadmissible direction of interpreting. The situation changed after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the onset of the globalization, and the interpretation into the B language has gradually become an everyday...

Realization of andragogic profession in the area of psychosocial services
Jahodová, Jitka ; Beneš, Milan (referee) ; Šnýdrová, Ivana (advisor)
The thesis concerns the possibilities for the use of andragogues in the area of provision of psychosocial services. The starting point is the characteristics of andragogy and psychosocial work, which are contained in the first and second chapters. Attention is given especially to delineating the area of psychosocial assistance and defining the profession of andragogue and andragogic competences. On the basis of the description of the two discussed specialisations, the third chapter creates, by means of individual categories, an overview of their mutual connections and common areas of issues. The structure of this overview offers a complex view of the issue. In the fourth and fifth chapter, the theoretic scope of the work is expanded to include a comparison of the viewpoints of andragogy and the sciences which create the theoretic basis of psychosocial care regarding the adult, his needs in various life situations and support for him in the context of specialist andragogic and psychosocial work. In the sixth and seventh chapters, conclusions are drawn from the knowledge acquired regarding the possibilities of collaboration in the fields of andragogic and psychosocial work. Emphasis is placed on the identification of needs in the area of psychosocial work that could be satisfied by the use of andragogic...

Mgr. Andrea Svobodová Komplexní studium Rukopisu dzikovského se zam ením na grafickou, jazykovou a textovou analýzu eské sbírky kázání A Comprehensive Study of The Dzikowian Manuscript Focusing on a Graphic, Language and Textual Analysis of the Czech Postil Abstract The thesis submits a comprehensive philological analysis of the Dzikowian Manuscript, an insufficiently explored late medieval manuscript containing two postils, de tempore in Latin and de sanctis in Old Czech. The thesis aims to specify the place of this work in the context of medieval preaching, to critically review the previous research and to find new paths of research in evaluating this work. It is divided into three chapters, their common topic being attribution of both the postils on the grounds of codicological, content, and especially language features. Special emphasis is put on description of non-standard language phenomena, their interpretation being a key factor for transcription rules (one of the main results achieved apart from precising probable dating and localisation is a complete transcription of the Old Czech postil). The phenomena described enrich the existing inventory of deviations from the standard language and call for relating to other sources traditionally categorised as dialectal and thus for elaborating diachronic...
