European audiovisual politics: public service broadcasting and the competition rules of European
Friedrichová, Magdaléna ; Šlosarčík, Ivo (advisor) ; Kasáková, Zuzana (referee)
For the broad problematic of European public broadcasting service (PBS), we chose a rather narrow view point of its financing. The competition law in EU, which is called by many an economic constitution for its force and prime role in the process of European integration, has much larger impacts than solely economic ones. The respect of competition rules in PBS financing can also indicate a good level of political end economical media independence. This thesis consists of three main parts. The first part treats PBS as a fraction of a far larger field of general economic interest services. Those services, essential in European social model, are represented on EU level legislation mainly as exceptions of strict competition rules. Regarding this topic, we follow the development in practice of the European court of justice. We follow the struggle between two conceptions - the "compensatory" and the "state aid" conception which ended in compromise Altmark judgment of the European court of justice in 2003. The problems of services of general economic interest and its place in European national societies represent a strong social dimension, to which PBS add also the cultural and national one. Beside general articles of treaties, the key documents for PBS in EU are the Amsterdam protocol and the 2001 PBS...

The influence of war on suicide rate
Olchavová, Dita ; Guasti, Petra (advisor) ; Jeřábek, Hynek (referee)
This work traces how the research dealing with the influence of war on the suicide rate have changed since Durkheim's time up to recent days. Durheim maintained that during wartime the suicide rates tend to be lower than in more peaceful times and that this is due to higher political integration of the society produced by wars. This idea has been studied by various sociologists in order to confirm or refuse this idea on the basis of individuallevel data research on suicide in different countries at different times. Some studies have found support for the idea, while other have not. Investigating these studies - their results as well as their methodology - brings up valuable information about the crucial points of conducting a research of this domain. Taxes and Specifics in School Organization

Education Problems of Roma (Gypsies)
Ropek, Pavel ; Mazáčová, Nataša (advisor) ; Syslová, Hana (referee)
My central tendency is to make good or not to make good that Gypsies' relation to the education and institutions of education is negative and also to specify factors which influence this situation. We can consider that as a fall of the bad situation with education of Gypsies. I made a decision to evidence this tendency by two researches. The first of them was focused on confrontation of opinions on problems with education of Gypsies by teachers who work at common elementary schools. I've chosen two different elementary schools which are situated in different conditions and localities. I've elected list of questions as a method of research. Results of these questionaries show that there isn't difference in the opinion on problems with Gipsy education dependent on location and conditions of place where was done this research. This research shows that address teachers considered Gypsies relation to education as a negative. The second research was focused on opinions of teachers who are used to work with Gipsy children and opinions of Gypsies themselves as well. I chose list of questions as a method of research again. Results of teacher's answers show that they consider Gypsies relation to education as a bad but result of Gipsy answers show that they have positive relation to the education. This research...
