A myth in the perspective of a cultural theory (Egyptian myth of Usir and Scandinavian myth of Baldr)
Herrmannová, Nela ; Matějů, Martin (referee) ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor)
This cultural-historical work deals with the analysis of myth, being the core of spiritual culture and culturologist interpretation. The aim of this work is to focus on the Royal Egyptian myth which is one of the oldest myths at all. Further, the work is going to compare this myth with the Scandinavian myth about Balder. Finally, the goal iof this work is to explain the role that mythology had in times of its blossom, when it was actually lived, and what does it mean for people today, in the 'demiraclenized' and overmodernized world. At the same time the work argues with some technical sources and thus brings another detailed interpretation of the myths. Apparently, the comparison of two myths, distant in both time and place, endorses Joseph Campbell's opinion about the unity of human spirit and claiming that our human fantasy and imagination underwent a similar development, despite different cultures and surroundings. The main goal of this work is to demonstrate by various examples the meaning and role of mythology in human mind and to confirm its adaptability function by analysis of two affinitive myths. This analysis offers some further conclusions concerning the unity of human mind. Apart from what has been said above the author also concentrates on a theoretical contemplation on myth as a drama topic....

An introduction to sociology of theatre
Za všechny uveďme mezinárodní organizaci FIRT/IFTR (Fédération Internationale pour la Recherche Théatral/International Federation for Theatre Research) nebo mezinárodní asociaci SIBMAS (Société Internacionale des Bibliotheques et Musees des Arts du Spectacle, International Association of Librairies and Museums of the Performing Arts).

Artificial neural networks and their application in the assessment of insurance risks
Macek, Karel ; Jiroutek, Pavel (referee) ; Mrázová, Iveta (advisor)
The present work studies applicability of artificial neural networks in the assessment of insurance risk. Structure and function of multilayer perceptrons, Kohonen maps, Fuzzy ART networks, and Fuzzy ARTMAP networks are described. Concept of insurance risk is defined and the ratemaking by generalized linear models is introduced. Neural networks' methods for reduction of input space's dimension, knowledge extraction, and visualization are summed up. Data describing traffic accidents are acquainted and results achieved on them are presented. The work successfully demonstrates theoretically and experimentally that multilayer perceptrons approximate better than generalized linear models. Modification of multilayer perceptron estimated distribution function of total claim. Analysis performed by Kohonen map and by subsequent visualization detected two significant clusters. Analysis by Fuzzy ART network is presented as a part of new algorithm for reduction of input space's dimension. New algorithm inspired by Fuzzy ARTMAP network discovered a group of accidents where the claim is above average. This group is delimited by interpretable rules. Attached CD contains scripts for Matlab and MySQL that was used for mentioned analyses.

Coffee shop as the topic of Czech art of the first half of 20th century

The Woman and The Violin - Problems in the Pedagogy of Music
Trávníčková, Šárka ; Tomášek, Jiří (advisor) ; Perglerová, Marka (referee) ; Kubátová, Gabriela (referee)
My diploma thesis, "Woman and violin - problems o f musical pedagogy", deals with women's contribution to violin arts as a certain profession area. It specializes in both its educational and purely practical function, represented by playing the violin itself. It is bringing closer the effort o f female violinists throughout the whole violin arts history. This work is divided into several parts. The firts one deals with the development and history o f world's female violinists1 activities before the beginning o f the "recording period" - up to the begining of the twentieth century (Wilma Maria Neruda, Teresa Milanollo, Teresina Tua and others). Furthermore, this work is also focusing on world's female violinists occuring after the beginning of the "recording time - from the beginning of the twentieth century up to the present - mentioning Maud Powel, Marie Hall, Erica Morini, Ginette Neveu, Ida Haendel, Kyung Wha Chung, Anne-Sophie Mutter and others. The second part tells about the Czech female violinists throughout the history up to the present - referring to Kitty Červenková, Marie Hlouňová, Bedřiška Seidlová, Nora Grumlíková, Hana Kotková, Gabriela Demeterová and others. The third part analyses the problem of pedagogy and psychology in the violin play studies. It concentrates on topics such as teacher's...

Transition czech accounting entity from IFRS to the Czech accounting regulations
Hajduk, Lukáš ; Vašek, Libor (advisor) ; Procházka, David (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the transition of accounting from IFRS to the Czech accounting regulations. There is currently no accounting adjustment that would provide a conceptual basis for the entity that has to transit to Czech accounting regulations. The thesis was therefore focused on practical examples to demonstrate how transfer to Czech accounting regulations can be carried out even in terms of valuation. This thesis is divided into three chapters, where the first chapter deals with the issue of harmonization of accounting systems, and the main reasons for the period in which the transition will be realized. The second chapter is primarily focused on the general review of IFRS 1 which is to serve as template to set the rules for the transition from IFRS to Czech accounting regulations. This thesis focuses on the comparison and content of financial statements, the accounting principles and regulations and, namely, on valuation approaches of both accounting systems. The practical application uses model situations to demonstrate possible solutions of transition from IFRS to Czech accounting regulations. The primary intention of this thesis is to analyze the tangible fixed assets of IFRS considering IAS 16, IAS 40 and IFRS 5 and other related standards.

Wage discrimination in the labor market in the Czech Republic from 2005 - 2014
Veľasová, Lenka ; Pikhart, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Chmelová, Pavla (referee)
In this bachelor dissertation work is studied the use of regression analysis of wage development. This analyse the situation before and after possible impact of the antidiscrimination law on the wage situation of women and men in the labor market. The theoretical part is intended construction of work concepts such as equality, discrimination and its types and forms. Together with clarifying the content of the antidiscrimination law passed in 2009. The practical part contains an analysis of the macroeconomic situation for the period 2005-2014 and analysis of the factors directly affecting the level of wages. Attention is given to the period after 2009, which should theoretically lead to the improvement in the wage situation of women and eliminate discrimination. Although, we follow a very strong correlation between the examined factors and wages, wage differences are objectively justified and therefore we cannot talk about discrimination. This is justified by numbers which demonstrates the ineffectiveness of the anti-discrimination law.

Estimation of Genetic Parametrs in Selected Reproduction Traits of Sheep and Revision of Existing Evaluation of Animals
Schmidová, Jitka ; Vostrý, Luboš (advisor) ; Jan, Jan (referee)
The objective of this investigation was to select the proper model for genetic parameter estimation, to estimate genetic parameters, and to predict breeding values for litter size in most common sheep breeds in Czech Republic. A total of 143 896 lambing records from 1990 to 2012 were analysed. Variance components and genetic parameters for litter size were estimated separately for each breed using the BLUP animal model with repeatability. The basic model equation contained ewe age as a fixed effect and random effects of contemporary group, permanent environment and direct additive genetic effect of the animal. Modifications of the basic model were examined when various combinations of mating effects were included (contemporary group of ewes during mating (harem), additive genetic and permanent environmental effect of service ram). Estimates of phenotype variance increased across breeds (0.236 for Šumava to 0.779 for Romanov) with increasing breed average for number of lambs per litter. Variance component estimates for permanent environmental effect of the ewe were low (0.0001 to 0.0262). The variance of common environment of contemporary group (from 0.0223 to 0.1309) had bigger influence on the total variability of litter size in almost all studied breeds then additive genetic variance (from 0.0146 to 0.0587). The lowest heritability and repeatability estimates were for the Šumava (h2=0.0619; w2=0.0823) and Romney breeds (h2=0.0626; w2=0.0811); while the highest were for Merinolandschaf (h2=0.1091; w2 = 0.1129). The effect of service ram ranged from 0.01 to 0.02 of phenotypic variance in Šumava sheep, in Romanov sheep it was from 0.05 to 0.10, and in Suffolk sheep it was from 0.04 to 0.05. Including effects of mating (service sire, harem, and/or ram´s permanent environmental effect) in the model decreased deviance information criterion, what means that these models are more proper than the basic one. Results from present study demonstrate that genetic parameters did differ among the investigated breeds, which should be taken into account in breeding value estimation. The service rams have low but a clearly detectable influence on litter size of their mates. Genetic parameter estimates indicate that direct selection on the service ram effect could increase litter size and achieve genetic gain through ram selection.
