Quality of life of dialysis and transplant patients
Pěkný, Radek ; Šivicová, Gabriela (advisor) ; Hrachovinová, Tamara (referee)
End-stage renal disease (ESRD) is a chronic illness, which significantly influences patient's life. Two widespread possibilities of renal replacement therapy are dialysis and kidney transplantation. The first section of the theoretical part summarizes medical aspects of ESRD. The second section deals with psychosocial aspects of chronic illness generally, which are replenished with a particularity of dialysis and transplantation therapy. The last section hands in theoretical constructs of quality of life and sumarizes results of foreign studies, which have dealt with Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) of dialysis and transplant patients. Empirical part of the thesis maps HRQoL in relation to some selected factors (gender, marital status, age, level of education and period of treatment) in group of dialysis and transplant patients. The main goal of the whole thesis is comparing HRQoL among dialysis and transplant patients through questionnaires SF-36 and WHOQoL-BREF.

The project of model hydroelectric power plant
Urbánek, Jaroslav ; Macháček, Jan (referee) ; Radil, Lukáš (advisor)
Master thesis consists of the construction of a small hydroelectric power play model for laboratory use. The first step is to calculate parameters required for the creation of the 2D model Banki turbine. Next part is a proposal and selection of individual components of the model, such as generator, turbine housing, water circuit, pump and alternator mounting. The last step is to launch the model and verify, if the model of a small hydroelectric power plant achieves the required parameters.

Suffix Array for Large Alphabet
Šesták, Radovan ; Senft, Martin (referee) ; Lánský, Jan (advisor)
Burrows-Wheeler Transform (BWT) [3] is used as the major part in block compression which has good balance of speed and compression ratio. Suffix arrays are used in the coding phase of BWT and we focus on creating them for alphabet larger than 2^8 symbols. The motivation for this work has been software project XBW[4] - an application for compression of large XML files. The role of BWT is to reorder input before applying other algorithms. We describe and implement three families of algorithms for encoding. First is inspired by the work of Sadakane [10] and further improved by Larsson [8]. Second family includes algorithm by Seward [11] and algorithm by Itoh further improved by Kao [5]. Finally we present algorithm by Kärkkäinen and Sanders [6] for constructing suffix arrays in linear time.

Hangar
Škatula, Václav ; Bajer, Miroslav (referee) ; Sýkora, Karel (advisor)
The final thesis is focused on a project of a load bearing structure of a aircraft maintenance hangar that has a rectangular ground plan 60,0x120,0 m and includes suspended mobile hoist of loading capacity 5,0t. The object is situated in the airport area of Ostrava Mošnov. The task provides two versions of design. The first version consists of eleven traverse joining beams witch are distanced twelve meters from each other. The second version consists of thirteen traverse joining beams witch are distanced ten meters from each other. The thesis focuses on the load pressure of the steel construction, the main emphasis being placed on the single structural components and assembling components. The calculation meet the standards of ČSN EN.
