Zárubová, Eva ; Vítečková, Michaela (referee) ; Lorenzová, Jitka (advisor)
In the theoretical part of my Bachelor's Degree thesis "The Experience with Drugs of Underage Mothers Placed in Institutional Care" I focus on issues connected with this topic. I address the issue of drug addiction as a problem of both the individual and that of society; forms and types of drug addiction and factors influencing the origin of such addiction. Among other issues I deal with is the adolescence period from the point of view of the way in which psychosocial relations are managed. I mention Erikson's theory of psychosocial development and psychosocial conflicts of this period too. In the next part I focus on institutional care of underage mothers and their stay in institutions. Related to this issue there is pregnancy and motherhood of underage girls and accompanying challenges not only for them but for the whole family too. I also mention possible risks and health hazards and causes and consequences of early motherhood. In the conclusion of the theoretical section I focus on drug addiction in relation to underage mothers and the impact of drugs on pregnancy and development of the embryo including the withdrawal symptoms of newborn babies. The main aim of the empirical part of my thesis is to explore, on the basis of interviews with pregnant underage girls addicted to drugs and underage mothers...

Health promotion strategies as a reflection of determinants of health in contemporary world
Strenková, Anna ; Háva, Petr (advisor) ; Kružík, Lubomír (referee)
Bachelor thesis "Health promotion strategies as a reflection of determinants of health in contemporary world" deals with the issue of high prevalence of chronic diseases caused by the change of social structure during the transformation from traditional to modern society and epidemiological transition which occurred as a result. These problems together with theoretical health determinants research initiated the establishment of theoretical and practical discipline called health promotion ("new public health") which is supposed to work together with the existing medical-oriented discipline of 'old' public health in the health care system. The main contribution of theoretical research was the finding that the healthcare system effects health of the population just by 15 %, while lifestyle and environmental conditions are the most important determinants of health. Social and economic conditions work as contextual health determinants. They influence health and the other determinants through a broad social context. The aim of health promotion is to address these social and economic factors in order to improve the health status of population and reduce inequalities in health. The thesis explores health promotion programs and strategies on the international (WHO), European (EU) and national (Czech) level and...

Learning Exercises in English Textbooks
Dřímal, Daniel ; Kasíková, Hana (advisor) ; Valenta, Josef (referee)
The thesis deals with the issues connected to learning exercises in educational English students' textbooks. The main focus is based on the occurrence of the educational exercises analysis in these textbooks. In general, learning exercises develop two main branches - the language itself (specifically grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation) and language skills (speaking, listening comprehension, reading comprehension and writing). The attention is paid to what types of learning exercises usually appear and what exactly they develop in students' cognition and their language skills. The educational enrichment coming from these activities is very important for the students' cognitive development. At first, the theoretical part of each sub-branch is discussed. Afterwards, the emphasis is placed on the learning exercises themselves as these are essential components of the students' textbooks. The theoretical part is relatively extensive. It takes the fundamental proportion of the thesis and contains detailed descriptions. The explorative section is based on analysis of several English textbooks intended for students of the English language. It focuses on the proportion of language itself and the proportion of language skills. The thesis outcomes may contribute to the English learning exercises issues. In...

Kubů, Miloslava ; Morgensternová, Monika (referee) ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor)
This diploma thesis, "The Analysis of 24 Month Old Chilďs Playing Interaction in His Family Background" (which is a part of granťs task number: 406/01/0220, whose solver is Doc. PhDr. L. Šulová, CSc.) has two main parts. The theoretical part comprises four bigger chapters, the first one includes different aspects of the family theme, the second one deals with early chilďs interactions and relationships in hi s family, the third part focuses on toddler' s development characteristics, the fourth part deals with chilďs play and playing interactions. Empirical part presents results of a research, which aim was to look into and compare (quantitatively and qualitatively) playing interactions of 2 year old child with his mother, father (possibly older sibling) in family. For the analysys of videorecording the computer program V.I.P., which was developed for solving grant's task GA ČR by Ing. T. Hrdlička, was used. Some differences within single playing pairs and also within whole research group have emerged. The results are related only to the exploratory sample.

Simultaneous interpreting using a paper copy of the speech with a focus on "paper copy of the speech" and "subjectivity" as the two major variables
Jánský, Dušan ; Rejšková, Jana (referee) ; Abdallaova, Naděžda (advisor)
This theoretical-empirical work is focused on the dependence between the variables "paper copy of the speech" and "subjectivity" in simultaneous interpreting. In the theoretical part of this thesis, the hitherto research in this field has been covered and the explored questions ha ve been categorized within the paradigm of translation studies. Within the framework of the translational model by Heidemarie Salevsky, an attempt was made to identify and confine the major variables that occur in simultaneous interpreting with a paper copy ofthe speech. Then, based on past research on this subject, a detailed description was made ofthe factors paper and subjectivity. In addition, a categorization ofthe types of subjectivity was made for the analysis of the individua! papers. In the empirical part of this work, based on the available knowledge of the main factors and on the analysis of all speeches, a hypothesis was formulated on the dependence between the factors paper and subjectivity for the individua! speeches and for all speeches jointly. Furthermore, an auxiliary hypothesis was formulated on the dependence between paper, subjectivity and the studenťs class level (proficiency). After conducting the experiment and evaluating the individua! interpreting performances based on the evaluation method described in...

Variability of the Brewer-Dobson Circulation
Kupčihová, Zuzana ; Pišoft, Petr (advisor) ; Kozubek, Michal (referee)
The middle atmosphere transport is mostly controlled by a large-scale meridional circulation, namely the Brewer-Dobson circulation. In this thesis, climatology and variability of the Brewer-Dobson circulation and the middle atmosphere has been analysed using the Canadian Middle Atmosphere Model (CMAM30-Ext). A number of key variables are used including the age of air, residual velocities, residual stream function, temperature and zonal wind. The analysis of the climatology of the age of air shows, in particular, that young air gets generated near the tropical tropopause, which then travels poleward. The residual stream function shows that the Brewer-Dobson circulation dominates the winter hemispheres around the solstices and becomes nearly symmetrical, with respect to the equator, around the equinoxes. The empirical orthogonal function analysis is applied to explore the modes of variability in the middle atmosphere. The analysis identifies, in particular, the semi-annual oscillation, the quasi-biennial oscillation with moderate explained variance compared to the variance explained by the annual cycle. In addition, the analysis also reveals the emergence of the solar cycle. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Němec, Jan ; NÁHRADNÍ, VEDOUCÍ (advisor) ; NÁHRADNÍ, OPONENT (referee)
This text explores the topic of contemporary relations between lusophone countries, principally at the level of Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (iComunidade dos Paises de Lingua Portuguesa - CPLP), the international intergovernamental organization founded in 1996 by représentants of seven countries which use Portuguese as official language - Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and Sao Tome and Principe - with intention to promote a multidimensional cooperation. The project of CPLP tries to get value from the common past of these countries, to which in 2002 added independent East Timor, that goes to the colonial era. Characteristics of this period are also matter of interest of this essay, including the ideological background of the Portuguese presence in the overseas areas and the process of the abrupt decolonization of the Portuguese Empire are also focused in this text.
