Spa services for children and adolescents
Martinásková, Marie ; Mlejnková, Lena (advisor) ; Kruisová, Hana (referee)
Medical spa in the Czech Republic has a long tradition. Spa treatment of children and adolescents has its position in the therapeutic process and shows very good results for the chronically ill children. Several changes of the conditions for thermal treatment of children and adolescents have occurred in the Czech legislation. They might affect its future development. The aim of thesis is to provide a comprehensive view on the Czech spa for children and adolescents, analyze its development in recent years, describe its main characteristics and to detect problems in Czech spa for children and adolescents. Spas for children and adolescents have been examined from the perspective of the balneologic institute, health Insurance, association of spas and from the perspective of parents of children. Balneologic institutes for children and adolescents will probably deal with problems in the next years and their further development will not be easy. Uneven capacity utilization, tightening of the rules for complex spa care, reducing length of stay, less repeated stays for some clients and the recent increase in regulatory fees will complicate the future of Czech spas for children and adolescents.

Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control Candidate Mgr. Ján Stariat Supervisor Prof. RNDr. Jiří Klimeš, CSc. Title of Doctoral Thesis Analytical evaluation of drugs and drug candidates from the group of iron chelating agents High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) ranks among the most important analytical techniques in the field of pharmaceutical analysis thanks to its robustness and the ability to separate and qualitatively and quantitatively analyse the compounds presented in various samples. The ongoing progress in the development of novel stationary phases and detection techniques allows rapid analysis and to get comprehensive characterization of the analytes presented in the complex samples even at very low concentrations. Cancer still remains a leading cause of death, thus the need for novel, efficient treatment strategies is of crucial importance. The mechanism based on iron chelation (Fe) inside the tumour cells represents one of the most promising strategy which could enhance the prognosis of patients suffering from cancer resistant to standard chemotherapy. Thiosemicarbazone iron chelators are currently under intensive development as novel anticancer drugs. Their strong antiproliferative...

The aim of this work is to investigate the task of a hospital nurse in providing a nursing care by sick persons. The work comprises a theoretical as well as a research part. The theoretical part is concerned with data on the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, on its epidemiology, pathogenesis, pathophysiology, clinical symptoms, diagnostics, sectioning the stages of the disease, treatment and an educational programme for COPD patients. Further, we have focused on the roles of hospital nurses and their education. From the psychological point of view, the role of a hospital nurse represents the position of an individual in certain social system. Said role is characterized above all by the characteristics as the emotional neutrality, the ability to provide a patient the feeling of security and the appreciation of his problems. The term education embraces a process of training and education. The health education represents a process of training and education, the aim of which is the health. The education is a lifelong process which develops the personality by virtue of formal authorities, informal ambient and professionals. It represents a continuous system process. The education conduces to the acquirement of new items of information, the improvement of proficiency. In the bachelor work quantitative and qualitative methods of the data collection through the use of an interrogation technique by question forms presented to hospital nurses working with COPD patients, as well as the qualitative interrogation data collection technique by means of a semistructured discussion were used. The research interrogations were carried out in the Hospital Písek, AG and in the Hospital České Budějovice, AG. The quantitative research interrogations were carried out in the Hospital Písek, AG and in the Hospital České Budějovice, AG. In the interrogations participated 100 hospital nurses working in the standard internal medical departments and the pneumology department. For the qualitative research interrogation 5 COPD patients were selected. The discussions were conducted in the pneumology department. In the bachelor work one aim was determined. The aim of the work was to investigate the task of a hospital nurse in providing a nursing care by COPD patients. In the work 2 hypothesis were determined. 1. The most common role of the hospital nurse is the provider of a nursing care. 2. The role of an educator nurse is more frequent than the role of an advocate nurse. Both hypothesis were confirmed. Further, 2 research questions were determined. What is the most common role of a hospital nurse by COPD patients? Has the role of an educator a practical efficiency by the COPD patients? The both research questions were answered. The aim of the bachelor work was thus accomplished. The bachelor work could be used by seminars in pneumology departments or internal medical departments. The work can also serve as the efficiency assessment of activities practised by the COPD patients and for the remedy of their imperfections.

Legal liability of a doctor
Hamran, Richard ; Salač, Josef (referee) ; Vokoun, Rudolf (referee)
A B S T R A CT thesis LEGAL LIABILITY OF A DOCTOR Richard Hamran The purpose of my thesis is to analyse briefly the issue of legal liability of a doctor for his professional duties. Stemming form relevant legislation, the doctor owes many duties and responsibilities and his failure to obey them properly could lead to various liabilities. The aim of the paper is not to consider in a detail all the questions concerning the liability of the doctor. On the contrary, I try to outline particular kinds of the doctor's liability in a systematic way and furthermore to scrutinize some partial issues relating thereto. The reason that led me to my research is the fact that the more human rights are recognized the more prudent and diligent the doctor must be while treating his patients. Legal approach towards medical treatment has changed over past few decades but is the society and especially affected professionals ready for this change? This thesis is divided into two parts having eight chapters altogether. Each of chapters deals with different aspects of the subject matter. The introductory chapter points out basics of the medical law and gives a brief look at the evolution of a legal approach towards the liability of the doctor during ages. The rest of the first part briefly characterizes common premises of the...

Prohibition of discrimination on grounds of gender in employment
Machačová, Kateřina ; Štefko, Martin (referee) ; Koldinská, Kristina (referee)
The topic of the presented thesis is the legal regulation of equal treatment of men and women and prohibition of discrimination on grounds of sex (gender) primarily in labour law relations and to a certain extent also in some areas of social security law. The main objective of this paper was to create a quite comprehensive but not too theoretical study on the above-mentioned theme which would be focused on the respective enactment both in the legal order of the Czech Republic and in the law of the EU and in several documents of international law. Before starting the actual construction about the relevant legal regulation the thesis deals with the presentation of some fundamental issues connected with the subject, first of all the explication of the concept of equality and various ways it can be approached, the major demonstrations of unequal opportunities of men and women on the labour market and the historical evolution of women's status in society. Further on the paper focuses on the explanation of the complicated concept of discrimination and its particular forms (above all on the distinction between direct and indirect discrimination) which are being analysed making use of the respective case law of the Court of Justice of the EU. The actual account of the legal enactment of equal treatment and...

Monitoring of immune parameters during anti-tumor immunotherapy
Bílková, Pavla ; Palich Fučíková, Jitka (advisor) ; Fialová, Anna (referee)
Dendritic cells are the most effective antigen presenting cells in humans, they stimulate naive T lymphocytes and thus initiate specific immune response. The discovery of dendritic cells and understanding of their functions contributed to the idea of usingdendritic cells for the treatment of cancer. Anti tumor immunotherapy is a therapeutic strategy that aims to induce and maintain immune responses against tumor cells. Currently, immunotherapy based on dendritic cells has strong position among other anti cancer therapies and seems to be a promising therapeutic option for patients with tumors. In this work, I evaluated the effectiveness of treatment in patients with prostate cancer treated with immunotherapy based on dendritic cells. I focused on the detection of antigen specific T lymphocytes in peripheral blood against tumor antigens, PSA, NY ESO 1, MAGE A1 and MAGE A3. Using a 3 day standard protocol for the detection of antigen specific T cells using intracellular cytokine staining we were able to detect only a small percentage of this minor population. Only after extension of the protocol, we increased the sensitivity setting and we detected a significantly increased frequency of antigen specific T lymphocytes in the peripheral blood after one year DC vaccines application.
