The book known nowadays as Naufragios by Álvar Núez Cabeza de Vaca is one of the most important testimonies about the discovery and conquest of the New World. The first half of the 16th century saw many exploration and conquest travels in which thousands of sailors, explorers, conquerors and soldiers had to face the reality of the just discovered continent. It is really interesting to see how those who wrote about this event experienced it. Naufragios has always been read as a source of historical and anthropological information, but it has been also studied for the literature elements which we can find in it. In my thesis, I tried to look at the work in its complexity: see the literature influences in it and find those elements that we could call literature elements, but also I wanted to focus on the unusual experience of the author and look into the testimony of his experience with the American reality and see how this experience changed him. My thesis begins with a historical introduction which I consider very important to situate the work in its context. I tried to explain the events which led to the discovery of the New World and also the reaction of the Old World to the discovered one. Interconnection between various types of IT systems used in an enterprise is crucial in these days. Most of companies are using many different kinds of applications in their daily running of the enterprise which leads to necessity of sharing data across those applications to enable all employees to make a right decision upon correct information. In my diploma thesis I deal with interconnection of two systems -- Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Intelligence (BI). Both systems belong to group of top IT systems with big influence on ongoing business and right decision making on all levels from operational to strategic. My paper contains theoretical as well as practical part of the solution for interconnection of BI and BPM systems. First part is about presenting and describing basic concepts and technologies which are used in process of integration of BI and BPM. At the beginning there is a short introduction to BPM, BI and SOA. Following part is including analysis of three major ways of interconnection between BI and BPM systems. Last part of the first theoretical section presents two products. IBM FileNet P8 representative of BPM system and IBM Cognos 8 BI as a representative of BI system. Second part deals with the practical example of real integration between BI and BPM systems. In first part of this section is simple description of the scenario -- business case. After that there is a detail depiction of two different kinds of integration of BI and BPM. Analysis of benefits, advantages and further possibilities are at the end of work.

The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on marketing and its historical evolution. Extra attention is dedicated to marketing stragies. In connection with this terms is described communication mix with its instruments. At the beginning of the practical part there is a short introduction of the Swarovski company and an analysis of its marketing strategy and promotional tools. At the close of the thesis there are proposed some changes of this strategy.

CZECH NATIONAL BANK - LEGAL STATUS AND CONTENT OF ATIVITIES Diploma paper First chapter is called The Introduction. This chapter describes the filling of my diploma paper. There is also short outline of tranformation from statism to free economy in our history. This transformation affects our banking system significantly. Second chapter defines what the banking system is. It consists of banking institutions and relations between these institutions. That`s why the banking system has two components - institutional component and functional component. Institutional component of banking system implies every single bank. Functional component of banking system comprises arrangement of all relations between banking institutions. It is proper to make differences among single stage, two stage and three stage banking systems. Central bank has different position and legal powers in each of these systems. There is short mention about czech banking system too. Third chapter is called The Beginning and Development of Central banks. This chapter describes main reasons, that causes establishing Central banks in market oriented economies. The state support for families at the beginning of the third millennium

The essay undertakes matters in subsidizing families in Czech Republic. After introduction consisted of cardinal issues are provide definitions of general terms. Changes in family structure and family functions depending on demographic transitions are widely characterized in third part. Particular description of subsidies provide in Czech Republic since 2008 is followed by analysis of these particular subsidies with emphasis on negative effects. In the last part of the work are made short comparisons with Great Britain, Sweden and Germany. The result evaluates Czech family policy as effective in the view of specified political aims.

Development of Czech Republic's exchange rate policy since the beginning of the transformation

The bachelor thesis deals with exchange rate policy in the Czech Republic. Preliminary, there are described types of exchange rate regimes and methods of influencing exchange rate by central banks. The work is focused on the development of the Czech Republic's exchange rate policy since the beginning of the economic transformation. It starts with the Czech Republic's introduction of internal convertibility in January 1991. Further the dissolution of Czechoslovakia and the monetary separation is mentioned. In 1995, external convertibility is introduced and it is followed by currency crisis in 1997. Attention is paid to the central bank's attempts to solve crisis which lead to exchange rate regime change in the end. In the next part, further development of exchange rate is described. At the end our chance to join euro in future is analysed.

The Analysis of Fixed Assets

The Bachelor thesis "The Analysis of Fixed Assets" focuses on the problems of fixed assets within the scope of the Czech legal enactments. The major goal of this thesis is not only the introduction of fixed assets in general, but mainly the analysis of fixed assets in specific conditions of a company. KÁMEN Zbraslav, spol. s r.o., a stone mining and concrete production company, was chosen for this purpose. The legal enactmets, the company itself, its general characteristics and classification of fixed assets are introduced at the beginning of the work. Additionally the thesis describes all activities that the company has to solve in connection with its fixed assets. It includes the acquisition, financing and evaluation of long term property, furthermore the ranging of individual kinds of fixed assets into the company's business property, fixed register assets connected with the problematic software, bookeeping, depreciation of property and finally the possible ways of liquidation of fixed assets.

Defense expenditures financing of the United States of America during World War II

This bachelor thesis focuses on the financing of war expenditures of the United States of America during Second World War. Thesis starts with a theoretical introduction to fiscal policy which is widely contained throughout the whole thesis. Followed with brief introduction to the economic history of the USA. Beginning with the Roaring Twenties ended by the Great Depression followed with politics of New Deal. The second part introduces the principles of war economy and the instruments which goverment use to affect and finance the economy. Goals of this thesis are to analyze these instruments and find out to what extent were used. The subject of analysis is especially funding through taxation which took a large part of the war financing, but not the majority. Results of this paper indicate that the most of the defense expenditures were financed through debt, mostly by borrowing from the public through purchased war bonds.

Inbound marketing of Nestlé in the area of infant formula

This master's thesis deals with inbound marketing of Nestlé in the area of infant formula. Its aim is to determine whether inbound marketing is a suitable tool for infant formula promotion which is strongly regulated. The thesis is based on a comprehensive analysis of the area of infant formula and analysis of inbound marketing strategy of one of the most dominant companies on the market, Nestlé. In the beginning, attention is focused on important milestones of the development of infant formula and on a case which caused an important change in the promotion of infant formula, Nestlé boycott. The following section deals with the supervision and marketing regulation both in international and the European law. The final chapter of the first part emphasizes on philosophy of inbound marketing. The second part is introduced by outlining the current situation both on global and the Czech market of infant formula. Then, attention is focused on Nestlé. Its introduction is followed by analysis of company's inbound marketing strategy which is then evaluated. For this purpose, analysis of the effectiveness of marketing tools is made with regard to strategic goals of the company.
