The aim of the thesis research was to compare two different groups of participants of tourism (mainly young people) - the tourists who are not joining the CouchSurfing community and the tourists who are registered. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were...

Polythematic Structured Subject Heading System and its potential in the area of indexing and searching web documents 000000026 506__ $$aPublic

Sport Manager Simulator
Zákutný, Roman ; Semecký, Jiří (referee) ; Novák, Václav (advisor)
The first part of presented work contains a description of the technological structure of the web application - a system for virtual simulation of a sport world controlled by user's active management of a team. The structure is divided into multiple layers - presentation, appliction and database. Use and utilization of particular frameworks on these layers are described in the work. In the second part we examine the implementation of the model used to generate the course of the match taking into account the parameters influenced by the managing abilities of users owning their competing teams. We introduce Markov models, their use in our model, connection between coincidence and observation of the situations and we perform statistical analysis of the results.

Využitie webových aplikačných frameworkov pri tvorbe informačných systémov
Špaňo, Martin ; Hoksza, David (referee) ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor)
Web application frameworks accelerate the development of web information systems. There are many frameworks available to developers these days. This work tries to find suitable criteria for their comparison. Three popular web frameworks based on Java programming language - Spring, Seam and Struts 2 were compared according to these criteria. The comparison includes the implementation of small information system in all three frameworks and performing measurements on these implementations. The results of comparisons and measurements were analyzed and recommendation for the deployments of compared frameworks in different conditions were given based on these results.

Process Mediation Framework for Semantic Web Services
Vaculín, Roman ; Neruda, Roman (advisor) ; Nečaský, Martin (referee) ; Svátek, Vojtěch (referee)
The goal of Web services is to enable interoperability of heterogeneous software systems. Semantic Web services enhance syntactic specifications of traditional Web services with machine processable semantic annotations to facilitate interoperability. AsWeb services get popular in both corporate and open environments, the ability to deal with uncompatibilities of service requesters and providers becomes a critical factor for achieving interoperability. Process mediation solves the problem of interoperability by identifying and resolving all incompatibilities and by mediating between service requesters and providers. In this thesis we address the problem of process mediation of Semantic Web services. We introduce an Abstract Process Mediation Framework that identifies the key functional areas to be addressed by process mediation components. Specifically, we focus on process mediation algorithms, discovery of external services, monitoring, and fault handling and recovery. We present algorithms for solving the process mediation problem in two scenarios: (a) when the mediation process has complete visibility of the process model of the service provider and the service requester (complete visibility scenario), and (b) when the mediation process has visibility only of the process model of the service provider but...

The knowledge of Gypsy culture and traditions in the town Tabor
KOVÁČOVÁ, Silvie
Following from its title, this diploma work discusses Gipsy culture and traditions, especially maps the level of knowledge comparing Gipsy and non-Gipsy inhabitants in the town of Tabor. The choice of the topic proceeds from a widely known fact involving the problematic common life of those too much different groups. Many members of the majority do not have any awareness of Gipsies being a specific group of inhabitants, having their own culture and traditions. On the other hand, the traditional life of the Gipsies has changed at all, rather has declined, especially in the field of language. Both these points of view may play an important role in one another understanding of the Gipsies and the majority. The target of my work was to map the knowledge of the Gipsy culture and traditions by the Gipsy commune and, as well, to map the knowledge of the majority. Within the framework of this, two main hypothesises were determined. The first main hypothesis assumed that the Gipsy commune in Tabor hadn´t known its tradition and culture any more. The second main hypothesis assumed that the majority hadn´t known the Gipsy tradition and culture. These two hypothesises weren´t proved because the decisive part of questioned people( both Gipsy and non-Gipsy) had known at least one element of Gipsy culture and tradition. Another important investigation was made in my work. They are specified in details in the part {\clqq}Discussion`` of my work. In consideration of the fact that nobody has ever occupied with this problem in the area of the town of Tabor, I suppose, that the points of my work may be useful for organizations that provide service for the Gipsy commune in Tabor. To make it possible, I am going to present my work on the web page of the town of Tabor.

Methodology for website localization from the perspective of webdesign
Čermák, Radim ; Doucek, Petr (advisor) ; Strossa, Petr (referee) ; Hřebíček, Jiří (referee) ; Dědič, Filip (referee)
Internet and websites are today one of the most important communication channels of almost all companies. They offer a simple, fast and effective way of communication, which is also available worldwide in a few seconds. With the globalization of market, more and more companies try to expand their business beyond the territory of the home state. In the current time of start-ups is the Internet also often a medium that allows formation of new spheres of business for which the website is absolutely essential channel. This type of business is internet based and has very often international ambitions from the very beginning. Given that each country (or region) can be seen as distinctive culture, it is advisable to locate websites for the needs of the foreign country. This is exactly the theme of this thesis. The concrete objective of this thesis is to offer a methodology for website localization in terms of webdesign. The basic building block is the delimitation of a multidisciplinary theoretical framework that examines the concept of culture and extensive literature review allowing current insight into the linking of website and culture, i.e. cultural website localization. Suitable method for gripping such a complex concept as a culture emerge from a theoretical framework as well. As the most appropriate method were determined Hofstedes cultural dimensions, which are then used for the analysis of cultural determination of web elements. Data collection for the purpose of analysis of web elements cultural determination is performed using a content analysis of websites from nine different countries. The results of the analysis are compared and synthesized with the findings stemming from a literature review. The final artifact of this thesis, a methodology for website localization from the perspective of web design, is based on this ground. Validation of the proposed methodology is done on the basis of assessment of the methodology for a domain of web design. This assessment is based on interviews with experts from different countries as well as presentation of concrete example of methodology use within a midsize website.
