Position of the head sister viewed by a medical sttaf member
LUKÁŠOVÁ, Věra
The position of the head sister viewed by a medical staff member My thesis examines the position of the head sister from the viewpoint of staff nurses both in state-run and private health care facilities. It gives insight into contacts between the head sister and staff nurses, especially if staff nurses are informed enough about the head sister´s duties. The results obtained in state-run and private health care facilites are compared. The following hypotheses were set: H I - staff nurses get into a personal contact with the head sister at least twice a year; H II {--} staff nurses are informed about the duties of the head sister ; H III {--} staff nurses working in hospitals, Inc., get into personal contacts with the head sister more often than staff nurses working in teaching hospitals. I set up thirty questions to address the issues of the position of the head sister in the hospital management and her duties. To obtain as much as possible information and to involve as many as possible respondents, the quantitative method of a questionnaire was used. The questionnaire consisted mainly of closed and semi-closed questions .One open question was also included to enable the respondents to express their own opinions. Respondents from the teaching hospital in Plzen and several other hospitals in the Plzen region ( the hospital Primaved, the Mulac hospital, the hospital in Stod, the hospital in Domazlice) took part in the investigation. The results of the investigation were processed in two phases: first the overall summary of all the replies was made and in the second phase the replies of the particular groups of respondents were evaluated separately. The investigation shows that staff nurses come into contact with the head sister and are familiar with her duties. The same conclusion was reached by comparing the replies obtained from staff nurses working in both kinds of hospitals, state-run and private. The results suggest that stuff nurses in both kinds of hospitals are thus well informed about the position of thehead sister. The objective of the investigation was achieved. The hypotheses I and II were confirmed, the hypohtesis III was not confirmed. The conclusions of the investigation will be presented at a workshop in the teaching hospital in Plzen with the approval of the head sister.. If the medical periodical is interested the conclusions will also be published there.

Vietnamese in the Czech republic - the reasons for immigration after 1989.
Brázdová, Jitka ; Sýkora, Jan (advisor) ; Klípa, Ondřej (referee)
Jitka Brázdová This bachelor thesis deals with the Vietnamese population in the Czech Republic since 1989 and the aim is to find out what are the main reasons for immigration from Vietnam to The Czech Republic, whether any of them is dominant and why the Czech Republic is the final destination of Vietnamese migrants, who are seeking work abroad. This thesis deals also with the reasons why people leave Vietnam. This happens mainly due to the desire to improve an economic situation and find well-paying jobs. Immigration for work is highly supported by the Vietnamese government, which thus reduces the high unemployment rate, which Vietnam has suffered for a long time. The main reason for coming to the Czech Republic after reunification in 1989 is for the consolidation of families, when one has a member in CR. Nowadays, immigration is a business model for mediating agencies that recruit residents especially in poor areas of Vietnam and offer them work abroad. Poor people don't have enough information about local working condition and life in general and The Czech Republic has in Vietnam a reputation as a "paradise on the Earth" that is supported by the agencies. This phenomenon supports the fact that admitting failure in Vietnamese culture is considered disgraceful so those who fail in CR after...

Bavarian CSU and Austrian ÖVP: Postmaterialist Society, Cartel Parties?
Bobek, Pavel ; Kunštát, Miroslav (advisor) ; Kučera, Jaroslav (referee)
Both the Bavarian and Austrian societies have been undergoing a broad process of change since 1945: they have experienced a long period of economical growth, a rise of standards in terms of social welfare and education, and thus a value change and a switch to at least partly postmaterial society. Accompanying this change, however, there has also been more public disapproval towards the official policies, the number of people going to the polls has sunk and so has the number of people who are likely to become involved in party politics. Particularly the big, dominant catch-all parties, such as CSU (Christian Social Union of Bavaria) and ÖVP (Austrian People's Party), have been losing their voters and members. As the thesis shows, the developments in both societies are quite similar, as the political culture of Bavaria and Austria - in spite of certain differences - shares many common characteristics. Also, both CSU and ÖVP did partly manage to adapt to the new circumstances, particularly in terms of party funding. Anyway, they did not fully follow the pattern of cartelisation to pursue this adaptation. This reveals the link between postmaterialist change and the development to cartel party to be only partly valid; however, both theories have proved to be helpful in understanding processes taking...

It focuses on the applicable legislation, namely the Parental Subsidy Act as amended, and the existing framework of the institutional care in question. The key focus of the third chapter is on children and their needs. Kordíková, Marta ; Hlavačka, Milan (advisor) ; Randák, Jan (referee)
Augustin Navrátil This thesis addresses the life and work of Augustin Navrátil (1928-2003), a Roman- -Catholic activist from the Moravian township of Lutopecny near Kroměříž. A. Navrátil has not been subject of a complex publication yet, although he is the author of the largest petition demanding religious - and with that going hand in hand also civic - liberties in socialist Czechoslovakia (1988, 600 000 signatures). Followingly, this is the first attempt to biographically outline the personality and motivations of this farmer, politician (member of the party Lidova strana), man who signed Charta 77 but also a husband and father of nine children. The aim is to cover his life from his birth, over his family background to the beginnings and heights of his social engagement. The text will mainly deal with 22 open letters in which he drew attention to various illegal practices and actions of the Communist power, as well as with the three petitions he authored (1978, 1985 a 1988) and the samizdat (self-published) journal Křesťanské obzory (Christian horizons), which he published with a group of others from June 1988 to July 1990. The role of agriculture in the process of Spain's entry into the EC
Sýkora, Filip ; Perottino, Michel (advisor) ; Tomalová, Eliška (referee)
Spain sent its application for EC membership in 1977, but was admitted only in 1986 after complicated entry negotiations. One of the most disputed topics concerning the Spain's application to the EC was agriculture. This bachelor thesis examines the importance of agricultural sector in the process of integration of Spain in the EC, namely expectations of membership in EC for agricultural sector, the attitude of older EC member countries during negotiations and eventually the changes in Spain's agricultural sector after the entry into the EC. The thesis strives to verify the assumption that a good deal of motivation for the EC membership came from expectations that the entry into the EU would bring intense capital investment and would open new markets for Spanish agricultural produce, meanwhile southern EC's feared high competition of the Spanish agriculture and their consent with further enlargement was contingent on either concessions by Spain in other fields or structural changes in EC's policies. A part of the hypothesis is also the assumption that even though Spain was faced with long transition periods, Spanish agriculture mostly benefitted from the entry into the EC and experienced further modernization. Lisabon Strategy and Its Implementation in Czech Republic
Vávrová, Berenika ; Urban, Luděk (advisor) ; Svačinová, Tereza (referee)
In 2000, the EU, under the influence of its current progress in the integration process, established a list of fairly ambitious goals in the economic, social and environmental issues, which it had wanted to achieve by 2010. The reform program has been named the Lisbon Strategy and has often been paraphrased as "catch up and overtake the U. S." Shortly after its launch, however, it began to be clear that such radical reform was not realistically possible, especially because of its complexity, a lack of willingness of Member States to implement these reforms and a poor set of implementation tools. The Lisbon Strategy has been followed by a new EU global reform document for 2020, Europe 2020, mainly due to the fact that the problems plaguing European countries remain the same and they haven't been adequately resolved by the Lisbon Strategy. The aim of this paper is to analyze the implementation of the Lisbon strategy in the Czech Republic, identify in which areas the CR has been successful, and in which it has lagged behind the performance of other EU members as well as where it could achieve a more significant progress. At the same time, the work examines the reasons why the Lisbon Strategy, though a very interesting concept of reform, has remained out of public interest, and its achievements haven't...
