Diploma thesis "Body schema in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease" is an experimental work which deals with body schema perception. As a part of the thesis there are particular tests of body schema included, which examine difference between control group and group of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Research part of the work deals with current findings about body schema and with findings about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. There is more detailed analyze of musculoskeletal questions in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease included. In an experimental part of the thesis there are comments on results of the body schema tests. The tests are focused on stereognosis, on position sense, on perception of self body size and on the ability to achieve isolated movement. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Hniličková, Petra ; Vopršalová, Marie (advisor) ; Žáčková, Pavla (referee)
TOXICOLOGY OF SMOKING Master's Thesis Petra Hniličková Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Heyrovského 1203, Hradec Králové Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology This master's thesis is engaged in problems of smoking, because smoking repre- sents with its addictive character and health effects one of important medical problems. In one cigarette is in addition to nicotine (a vegetable alkaloid which is addictive) included a large number of harmful chemicals. The tobacco smoke contains toxic gases (carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, ammonia), nitrosamines, polycyclic aromatic hydro- carbons, aromatic amines, heavy metals (such as nickel, cadmium, arsenic and polonium-210) and solid particles (mainly tar). All of these chemicals are harmful to human body and their effect is hard to predict because harmful pollutants from tabacco smoke work in combination. About 4.8 million people annually die of diseases caused by smoking. In this thesis are described the most frequent causes of death, such as car-diovascular diseases, cancer (especially lung cancer), chronic obstructive lung disease (CHOPN) and others. Individual chapters are dedicated to problems of second-hand smoke and legislative measures to prevent damages caused by tobacco products.

The proposal of the bachelor study program for information professionals
Slámová, Hana ; Vlasák, Rudolf (advisor) ; Königová, Marie (referee) ; Smetáček, Vladimír (referee)
Creating an optimal bachelor study program for information professionals is the main topic of this thesis. This program should reflect the needs of Czech information society, be international and fulfill the requirements of the Bologna declaration, be based on the opinions of professional bodies and guarantee employability for its graduates. Work methods used were identifying key Czech and foreign materials and their analysis and evaluation, researching graduates and creating a new study program project. Analysis of the development of the Czech information society and its opportunities creates the preface of this thesis. The analysis of the European dimension of the topic has been made in the thesis. It is based on the Bologna declaration and its influence on the European Higher Education Area and higher education in the Czech Republic. The analysis of key competencies of information professionals has been made in the thesis as well. The approaches of chosen professional bodies (ALA, SLA, CILIP) have been analyzed and evaluated to optimize both the new program and the experiences of partner universities (Metropolitan Manchester University and Fachhochschul Burgerland). The research among graduates demonstrates their employability and how the content of the present study program, VOSIS (Vyšší odborná školy...

Modelling of deformations of geometric objects
Kratochvíl, Erik ; Pelikán, Josef (referee) ; Kolingerová, Ivana (advisor)
Deformable models have been widely studied by the CG community for more than two decades. Many issues had to be addressed and many problems had to be solved before the quality of the deformable models reached an acceptable level. The aim of the work is to simulate interactions of several deformable bodies in realtime. First, we unveil the basic ideas behind several deformable models created for solids represented by a surface or volumetric mesh. We prefer the physicallybased approaches as they tend to yield more convincing results. We consider elastic materials only. We also briefly discuss the topic of collision detection for deformable models with its speci c aspects. A special attention is paid to contact resolution because it greatly influences the final impression. The result of this thesis is an overview of the proposed algorithm, detailed description of its parts, and its implementation. We also perform several benchmarks to prove its applicability in virtual environments and its capability to run in realtime.

Substantiation of criminal offences in traffic
Jelínek, Michal ; Jelínek, Jiří (advisor) ; Vočka, Vladimír (referee)
Summary: In the present PhD thesis I report on substantiation in the field of criminal offences committed in traffic, because this subject has been dealt with during my judgement activities performed as a judge of the district court. Substantiation is decisive especially in the proceedings at the adjudication court. Therefore this subject is exemplified by concrete cases of the present judicature and also by concrete data directly of my judicial practice. The subject comprises an extensive area because traffic criminality (or its consequences) concerns almost the whole society even under situation when traffic accidents are very frequent in the Czech Republic. Due to over 160.000 traffic accidents traffic accidents happened yearly, approximately 1 000 people die and over 25.000 persons suffer an injury during the accident. Although not every traffic accident can be considered as criminal offence, it is evident that criminal offences committed in traffic represent by their frequency a significant delinquency. The submitted PhD thesis also presents definition of basic terms of this subject, including those taken as key words in the thesis. Substantiation in the proceedings is thus a legally defined procedure of bodies responsible for penal proceedings the purpose of which is to allow these bodies to obtain...
