Computer naratology: narrative templates in computer games
Praks, Vítězslav ; Hrbata, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Češka, Jakub (referee) ; Kubíček, Tomáš (referee)
Relations and actions between literature and computer games were examined. Study contains theoretical analysis of game as an aesthetic artefact. To play a game means to leave practical world for sake of a fictional world. Artistic communication has more similarities with game communication than with normal, practical communication. Game study can help us understand basic concepts of art communication (game rules - poetic rules, game world - fiction, function in game - meaning in art). Computer games are interpreted in the study using naratological and ludological approach. Computer is tracted as a narrative medium (to narrate means to demonstrate, to present any content, not only epic content). Computer games are interesting phoenomena for its specifical aspects: interactivity, self-narration and computer simulated narration. Main attention in this study is focused on phoenomena of computer generated literature (prose and poetry). The main purpose of this area is in study considered for literary analysis of "belles lettres". Author examines and demonstrates plausible computer generated fiction analysis of narrative texts. Two such analysis are proposed in a study, one of them (prose analysis - fabule generation) is detaily manifested on concrete literary text.

Procházková, Tereza ; Hrabáková, Jaroslava (referee) ; Stejskalová, Anna (advisor)
110 RESUME The thesis is focused on the interpretation of several literary works from the turn ofthe 19th and 20th century. Selected works characterize certain elements, themes and motifs, which occur in the visual arts ofthis period. One can thus speak ofthe mutual interpenetration of literature and fine arts. This includes, for instance, the return to nature, which was meant to bring renewal and or a desire for creative originality to both - literature and Art Nouveau. Just as in Art Nouveau style, a woman appeared in literature as beautiful as a mirage, which was often displayed in two locations, as otherworldly creature - a fairy, or a femme fatale. The beginnings of Czech Art Nouveau with literature is attached to popular fairy tales, fairy-tale motifs and characters, dreaminess and lyricism. Art Nouveau ornament in the literature showed after linguistically as frequent repetition of words, themes or phonetic groups. Important in tenns ofthe interaction of literature and Art Nouveau was a magazine Volne smery, published since 1896, edited by Frantisek Xaver Salda and by artists Jan Preisler and Stanislav Sucharda, which in the first years contained, apart from modem arts, a major literature part.

Emblematic reductions of a writer as a literary icon or a "star"
Libichová, Tereza ; Heczková, Libuše (referee) ; Bílek, Petr (advisor)
Since the dawn of the western literary tradition the meaning and connotations of the terms and concepts of "author" and "authorship" have been changed and discussed many times. Nevertheless, the word "author" still marks someone who is responsible for the creation of a text (or, in a wider meaning, it denotes a creator of any work of art in general), even though nowadays the author is not considered in the romantic meaning of the word, with its connotations focused on biography and life of a historical individual. In current literary theory, the "author" is seen more as three different entities: a psycho-corporeal existence of the author (the "biographical" author), a subject within the text, and eventually an author-character in his own text, whose existence has become the topic of it. Such an allocation of the auctorial subject makes it possible to explore different points of intersection. However, the irrelevance of interpretation from the biographical point of view is emphasized. Therefore, one more auctorial subject is defined: a point of intersection of the "unidentifiable subject behind the text" and the "auctorial subject within the text". Such a perception of the term offers the possibility to analyze certain literary texts with an emphasis on the so-called "emblematic reductions".

Poetry of Ludvík Kundera
Hubená, Ester ; Bílek, Petr (advisor) ; Wiendl, Jan (referee)
The thesis focuses on the poetry of Ludvík Kundera. It introduces his work in chronological order and within the contemporary literary-historical framework. The analysis and the interpretation of his early poems often refer to the war period. Language and its potentiality are a main concern in Kundera's other work. His poetry is defined in the context of avant-garde modern art: surrealism, dadaism and expressionism. The thesis researches the impact of Brecht's poetics on Kundera, too. It also introduces the persona of the artist, who significantly contributed to forming the Czech literary field during the second half of the 20th century. Kundera's poetry relates to Czech and foreign artists and their works. The poems rise from ordinary occasions, as well as showing the poet's intertextual approach. Experimentation, wordplay, lyrical humour and irony are an inherent part of Ludvík Kundera's work.
