The representation of women in local politics

(anglicky) This bachelor thesis will deal with the question of political representation of woman in Czech local politics. Statistically, more women can be found at the local level of politics than at the parliamentary level of the Czech republic. The question of this thesis is going to answer who are these women, involved at the lowest level of politics. Qualitative research will allow us to determine their starting point politically, their ambition, and the barriers they face in their ascent up the political career. Comparative analysis of three towns that are distinct from each other in a variety of ways. This exercise will make it possible to both make generalization from the results as well as the simultaneously discover whether the representation of women in different types of towns is affected by more localized factors as well.

Potentional Aproaches to Solve the Adverse Social Situations of Single Mother in Shelter

Theoretical part is concerned with principles of the recent social politics focusing on support of individuals threatened from social isolation. In this case we deal with single mothers with children that lost housing due to unfortunate social circumstances. One solution is that social services intervention may provide special housing option. An example is shown from Pribram town, where a complete list of services is described in detail. Such list includes internal housing rules imposed on occupants. More importantly this example shows methods of interaction with occupants while building specific plans that match occupants? rights and goals. Practical part deals with evaluation of success of this housing service that includes evaluation of recordings with possible requests and/or suggestions based on communication between service personnel and selected occupants. The main emphasis here is identification of system weaknesses and overall improvement of this system. Methods: Communication, relevant documents? research, relevant observations.

Profile of Synods of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren after the year 1990

This thesis looks at the general character of the synod of the Evangelical church of Czech Brethern (ČCE), based on archival documents since 1990. (The) first chapter describes how the Synod functions within the church and briefly mentions the issue of coping with communism, especially how some pastors got involved politically. I also touch on the events of the Velvet Revolution. The next chapter focuses on an analysis of the Synod's work based on classifying the synod's resolutions into different catogories. The results are given in three diagrams. The goal of this analysis is to show which types of resolutions dominate and which types are more unusual. The third more extensive chapter deals with the most important topics being resolved in the synod. It describes the origin of …, its progress and consequences for the church. To show the character of the ČCE Synod, I highlight its internal discussions regarding church law, the practical and theological discussions on …(church education, ordination and baptism…). Then I discuss the ČCE Social Welfare organisation, a free standing topic, as well as subjects that have revealed the Synod's views. This third group address the church's outside concerns. The Influence of the New Federal States on the German Party System After Unification

The collapse of the communist regime in German Democratic republic caused factual loss of legitimacy of the republic as a whole. The events of 1989 and 1990 have brought the end of separation of both German states. The both parts of Germany were unified on October 3rd, 1990, but internal unity of the new state is 15 years later still far from reality. Two undemocratic regimes, one following another, interrupted traditional affiliations between voters and political parties hardly. New period of the German party system has started. Although the influence of the West German parties on constitution of the democratic East German party system was dominant, there has established unique party system with own specifics. The most measurable diversity of the East German party system is the presence of the Party of Democratic Socialism (PDS). This communist successor party has been successful in fast every elections since German Unification, last time she won over the quarter of East German votes. Thanks to the association with the new West German left party, called Electoral Alternative Work and Social Justice (WASG), the Left party/PDS has won 54 seats in the 16th Bundestag. Contemporary e-government politics and digital divide dilemma

Práce se zabývá politikami e-governmentu a problematikou digitální propasti. V úvodní části se věnuje teoretickým východiskům, podmínkám budování elektronické státní správy a překážkám v podobě digitálních propastí ve společnosti. Další část rekapituluje vývoj e-governmentu v České republice a v Evropské unii a představuje současné politiky a řešení. Závěrečná část práce představuje informační společnosti třech vyspělých evropských států - Finska, Německa a Estonska. Jednotlivé kapitoly rozebírají vývoj e-governmentu v těchto státech a zároveň odhalují digitální propasti, se kterými bojují. V případě Estonska jsou navíc popsány i celostátní elektronické volby, které tato země realizovala jako první na světě.

Radio Free Europe and Czechoslovakia in 1968 - 1980

This thesis deals with an overview of Czechoslovak Radio Free Europe (RFE) in the years 1968-1977. It analyzes, which comments RFE broadcasted during the Prague Spring and Soviet occupation by Warsaw Pact troops. The thesis discusses how the content of broadcasting changed after arrival of new editors in 1968 and what impact had activities of the State Sercet Security on the functioning of the Czechoslovak editorial. Finally, this thesis tries to answer the question of what effect had broadcasting on the citizens of Czechoslovakia. The first part of the thesis describes the origin of Radio Free Europe in 1951 and goes on to describe political events in Czechoslovakia in the years 1968 - 1977. The theoretical part is finished by chapter about the differences between communist and capitalist economic system and the economic situation in Czechoslovakia in the seventies. The second part of the thesis describes the general program of the Czechoslovak editorial staff and its functioning. The next chapter describes specific RFE broadcasting. The last two chapters examine the effect of broadcasting in the CSSR and the importance of the State Secret Security.

Foreign politics of Mexiko to Cuba en the years 1958 - 1976

Disertační práce zkoumá a hodnotí vliv vnějších a vnitřních faktorů, které působily na formulování zahraničně politického postoje Mexika vůči Kubě během období od roku 1958 do 1976. K tomu využívá metodu analýzy na hladinách: mezinárodní systém, stát, vnitrostátní prostředí a jednotlivec. Soustřeďuje se na témata jako je hegemonické postavení USA na americkém kontinentu, vývoj na Kubě, postavení Mexika v regionu, vnitrostátní režim vlády jedné strany - PRI, vč. historického vývoje, který ovlivnil tehdejší koncepci zahraniční politiky. Ukazuje, že v určitých obdobích domácí faktory zásadně ovlivnily postoj Mexika k revoluční Kubě.

Snahou je vymezit způsob, jakým se politické strany vymezují vůči EU, a dále otázky, které jsou klíčové z hlediska jejich profilace ve vztahu k EU. Vymezené otázky jsou zasazeny do hlubšího kontextu vývoje polského politického a stranického systému i analýzy klíčových otázek ve vztahu politiky Polska vůči EU.

The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. Theoretical part introduces and explains basic concepts of local politics, with detail characteristic of municipalities, municipal elections and preferential voting. This part is also concerned with research of local politics by published expert articles. This part is researched through the legislation and political expert literature. The practical part is focused on demographicaland socioeconomical description of district Benešov. The main part of thesis is the analysis of the voting results in the local elections of the municipalities in the district Benešov in 2014, particularly the preferred votes of candidates aspiring to gain a political seat with a mandate .
