Land from other things in the legal sense is so different that it raises the need to create specific legal regulations, which contain the basic institutions and principles of land law. The special nature of the land is determined by its specific characteristics that distinguish it from all other things. Although it has a long tradition of land ownership, it has still not developed it's uniform and comprehensive legislation. General law for the transfer of land ownership is a civil code. Special regulations are cadastral law and the law on registration of ownership and other rights in real estate, the law on transfers of agricultural and forest land, Land Act and others. Due to the adoption of a new civil code, there are some places to identify and compare to the current legal system, and possible adjustment for the future. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part contains general characteristics of land ownership, and describes its object, subject, content, institutions and basic concepts that are associated. The second part deals with various ways of transfer of title to land. The basic meaning of transfer is when the...

The Intuitions of the Comparative Method
Bičovský, Jan ; Vavroušek, Petr (advisor) ; Kurzová, Helena (referee) ; Pultrová, Lucie (referee)
The thesis aims to identify and explain the weak - the "blind" spots of the Comparative Method and Internal Reconstruction as they are used in the traditional historical linguistics, the prime example of which is Indo-European linguistics. As in language, even in science the best explanation may be the historical one - here the development of the method is followed briefly from the pre-scientific era up to late structuralism and the state-of-the- art of the 3rd millennium. It appears clear that the methods are based mostly on the same intuitions that serve the speaker to acquire any language and are prone to have biases that are useful for speakers but tend to ignore certain solutions that are counter-intuitive. The original aim of the methods was quite different from what it is now - and the debate still continues as to whether the proto-language is anything more than a formula, a short- hand for sets of correspondences or whether it is a real language which we may perhaps describe in the same manner, though with less certainty, than any living language. The formulaist language is abstract and from the point of historical linguistics (see bellow) not a language at all and provides no interesting explanation of how the languages came to be different beyond providing a means of encoding and decoding...

The apocalyptic visions of the Hussite period
Středověká apokalyptická tradice poskytovala jednotlivým autorům pružný hermeneutický systém, do kterého bylo možno vložit a v rámci něho interpretovat prakticky jakoukoliv historickou událost.

The problem of phonology of Hittite stops in terms of modern linguistics
Rychtařík, Marek ; Vavroušek, Petr (advisor) ; Palková, Zdenka (referee) ; Krčmová, Marie (referee)
The thesis deals with laryngeal phonology, especially laryngeal realism, an new approach to feature representation which distinguishes structurally tho-way contrasts of "voice" languages (Czech, Spenish) from those of "aspiration" languages (German). Laryngeal realism is the better 4 way of accounting for the laryngeal contrasts in languages with two series of obstruents than traditional approach. The next part of dissertation deals with the the terms fortis and lenis. These terms are controversial, as linguists disagree about their definition and their validity. It is argued that it is a phonetic phenomenon which could emerges when the primary correlates of speech sounds are suppressed and the second correlates are enhanced. The last part of this work is an attempt to contribute to the explanation of the longstanding issue of the Hittite phonology a phonemic opposition between two series of stops.

Vliv východního rozšíření EU na obchod vybraných nových členských států se třetími zeměmi (Trade Effects of the East Enlargement in the CEECs)
Polášek, Petr ; Němcová, Ingeborg (advisor) ; Joklová, Kateřina (referee)
The thesis analyses the effect of the Eastern enlargement on goods flows into four CEECs. In the beginning, the Eastern enlargement and numerous related economic effects are briefly characterised. After that it focuses on trade diversion and trade creation effects, starting with a concise discussion of the traditional customs union theory and followed by the explanation of the choice of the estimation method. A gravity model applied on a panel data set is then used to model the import flows into the EU15 and the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The results showed that a careful choice of the model specification and estimating technique is needed and the model that controlled for four sources of unobserved heterogeneity (time, country pair, importer, and exporter specific characteristics) was chosen. Based on this model's results, we could expect a significant increase of imports from EFTA into these countries but aggregately we should not expect any trade diversion as no further redirecting of import flows from the rest of the world is predicted. Eventually, some of the real trade flow developments (territorial and commodity structures and revealed comparative advantages of selected regions) are described.
