Bioacoustics in frogs
Karochová, Lucie ; Šandera, Martin (advisor) ; Schneiderová, Irena (referee)
This thesis is focused on bioacoustics in frogs. The purpose was to compare known informations about vocalization types, influence of sexual selection on males call, chorusing behavior and influence of predation. Bioacoustics research was carried on many frog species from different part of world, with most experiments being carried on neotropical frogs, specifically Physalaemus pustolosus. Acoustics communication is a wide-spread phenomenon across the animal kingdom. The theme of bioacoustics is studied quite extensively. The most studies is focused on birds or mammals, and the study of frogs, especially the European species, is poorly known. The influence of sexual selection on males vocalization is well known, while research in other evolutionary principles such as the effect of predator is studied only marginally. Research on new types of frogs tend to focus on the description of vocalization types that occur in a given species. In addition to in detail are studied individual voice parameters such as frequency or intensity and chorusing frogs are determined mainly by call-timing or synchronization. Newly was discovered ability of some frogs generate ultrasonic harmonies and surprising discovery was female vocalization as well. Generalization of facts is quite difficult because of the lack of...

Rights to sign in Czech positive law
Macháčková, Jana ; Pítra, Vladimír (advisor) ; Růžička, Michal (referee)
and keywords The purpose of the thesis is to analyse the legal regulation and the system of registration of rights to signs, which are most commonly used on national as well as international markets, i.e. rights to a trademark, appellation of origin and a geographical indication. The aim of this thesis therefore includs definition of the registration system of the mentioned rights to sign with reference to their specifications, the registration ability conditions (taking into consideration the decision practise of the Industrial Property Office), as well as the different character of protection of their owners. Significant attention is also paid to the system of legal protection of the rights to sign with respect to the fact, that there exists the national, international and Communitary system of protection of these rights. The beginning of the thesis describes the structure of rights to sign, the corresponding specification of concept of intellectual and industrial property rights and it characterises the subject of industrial property rights with respect to the legal regulation, the conception of legal protection of industrial property rights and conditions of grant of protection. The introductory text deals with the general exposition to rights to sign and mainly to historical circumstances of...

Differences in spending leisure time of children living in the country and in the town
Svobodová, Markéta ; Pelikán, Jiří (advisor) ; Straková, Jana (referee)
1 Summary: At present our society faces the fact that children have been losing interest in activities that do not generate an immediate result and their free time is spent primarily passive. Overall values in society have changed. To obtain the various resources, experiences, property, we prefer the easier way to the effort and perseverance. Therefore we cannot value our own personality and know ourselves. Probably that is why current society is called consumer. This study consists of two parts - the theoretical and the empirical part. The study deals with the relation between physiological and psychological development of children, influence of environment and the use of free time. It detects options and ability of pubescent children living in the city and in the country to use leisure time offer. It also examines how much the place of living influences the way of spending their free time. The main objective is to find differences in the use of free time due to specific life in the city and in the country. Some problems in relation to the free time are also mentioned, e.g. specifics of life in the satellite towns, some sociopathological phenomena (crime, drug addiction or vandalism). The empirical part describes and summarises the entire procedure, the creation of non- standard questionnaire and its...

Three virtual characters in a quarrel: an interactive model
Babor, Petr ; Brom, Cyril (advisor) ; Beneš, Jan (referee)
In computer games, with the ambition to tell a story are often cut-scenes, passages of games, where the player does not play, but only follows a part of the narrated story. This fact distract player from playing. These passages should be integrated as much as possible in the game itself. The goal of our work is to design, implement and test a model for creating cut-scenes with dynamic development and limited user interaction possibilities. We restricted the model to a situation where three characters arguing and we implemented it for the Pogamut platform. We use animations and emoticons as means of expression, characters do not speak by natural language. Movement is ensured by the steering rules from the project Steering Library. Dramaturgy and synchronization of scenes is controlled by a stochastic finite state machine. We made an experiment where the test subjects watched the generated cut-scenes and compared them with hand-made to evaluate the work. The results confirmed the assumption that the quality of generated scenes do not reach handwritten ones. However the test subjects still perceived them positively, because of the ability to influence their development. Implemented parts of the model can be used to create games and educational programs with social theme. Theoretical design of the model can be...

Level of coordination abilities of young school age artistic gymnasts
Bendová, Eva ; Hájková, Jana (advisor) ; Mojžíš, Otakar (referee)
This master thesis focuses on the influence that artistic gymnastics has on the coordination abilities of young school age girls. The purpose of this thesis was to use motor tests in the field to compare the level of coordination abilities of young school age artistic gymnasts with that of non-sporting girls. The tests results were subsequently statistically evaluated and commented upon. Another aim of the thesis was to compare the coordination abilities of artistic gymnasts aged 6 - 8 years with those of artistic gymnasts aged 9 - 11 years whilst they were undertaking particular tests. From the tests results it can be seen that artistic gymnastics has a positive effect on the level of the childrens coordination abilities. This finding is supported by the fact that in all tests the artistic gymnasts succeeded better than the non-sporting girls. Of the two groups the older girls (9 - 11 years) were more succesful than the younger group (6 - 8 years). The theoretical part of the thesis describes the Child's Motor Development, emphasizing the relationship between coordination abilities and young school age. It discusses the environment of the branch of sport called "women's artistic gymnastics" and the need for the children's sports training.

Circadian clock during ontogenesis
Olejníková, Lucie ; Sumová, Alena (advisor) ; Hock, Miroslav (referee)
Circadian system enables adaptation of organisms to periodic changes in environment on the Earth. In mammals, it consists of central pacemaker in the suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN) of hypothalamus and of oscillators that reside in other brain areas as well as in the peripheral organs and tissues. Ontogenetic development of the circadian system is a gradual process and the most dramatic changes undergo during the late embryonic and early postnatal stage. For its proper function, not only the morphological development of its individual parts, but also development of their entrainment to external environment and among each other, is important. The oscillations in clock gene expressions in the SCN occur already before birth, but in view of the fact that the levels of their protein products are undetectable, at this developmental stage, the ability of SCN to generate these oscillations in vivo has been discussed. After birth, the levels of these proteins rise and the rhythms in clock genes expression achieve the adult-like level at the postnatal age, when the synaptogenesis in the SCN is completed. The presence of a functional maternal circadian system is not necessary for the endogenous development of the SCN clock in pups, because the maternal SCN only entrains the clock and the circadian oscillations thus...

Theory of mind in preschool children
Hončíková, Dana ; Mertin, Václav (referee) ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor)
Theory of mind, an ability to understand one's mind as well as that of others, is a prerequisite for normal functioning in the human society. It helps us explain and anticipate other people's behaviour, enables us to share meanings and understand humour and forms a base for all social interactions. Theory of mind is the comprehension of human subjectivity - the fact that it is the representation of things, not their objective state, that determines human behaviour. The ability to attribute mental states develops along with the age thanks to the maturing of cognitive structures and acquiring experience in the social area. The most significant changes of theory of mind occur in the preschool age as the child masters mental verbs and begins to understand second-order mental representations. Most researchers conclude that an important change in the quality of theory of mind takes place around the fourth year of age. It is at this time that the child begins to realize the difference between the subjective and the objective reality, which leads to understanding that our representations of the world may not be always correct and depend on our access to information. That is why the researches focusing on the development of theory of mind use a method that examines the ability to understand the false belief - the...

Albert Camus. The artist's searching for autonomous living
Nuckollsová, Tereza ; Čapek, Jakub (referee) ; Petříček, Miroslav (advisor)
My graduation theses deals with the structure of Albert Camus' thought. It is important to emphasize the progresion in his thought. It begins as a criticism of the absolute meaning and as an acceptance of the truth of absurd. There lies the resource of the new human freedom. Yet this Camus' first position is to be seen just as the starting point for his long thinker's journey. It continues subsequently. Man learns that other people due to the fact of their lives have the same ability of freedom as he has. The life begins to play the role of the most important worth and it helps Camus to escape from the trap of nihilism. On the basis of human felowship Camus tries to restore the morality. He reveals the meaning of responsibility and guilt. However, there is one problem rest. Is it possible to cohere the individual freedom and the justice for everyone? Camus' responds come at the end of his life. They refer to the certain limits and certain measure that are essential for human beings. But these thoughts can not be considered as the final Camus' standpoint. In his inheritance there are some aphorisms describing the importance of passing the human limits over.
