The Folk Song as a Source of Inspiration in Activities in Music Lessons in Primary Schools
Brabníková, Klára ; Herden, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Váňová, Hana (referee)
Teachers often use folk songs as a means to teach children singing in tune and other musical skills or music theory. However, a deeper knowledge of the song itself happens to be missing. Yet, learning more about the music, looking deeper into its core can open new possibilities of its use in the classroom. The aim of this work is to demonstrate the path that a teacher should go through when, trying to gather knowledge about a folk song. Folk music is no more as popular as it used to be. It is therefore necessary for the teacher to spend more energy on the preparation to make it more attractive for the students. Folk song has the important feature of flexibility. The end of the 20lh century brought a new style of music combining folk songs with pop music. Its authors find inspiration in folklore, making it the basis of their own creative work. Such music thus reveals another possibility to bring the folk song closer to the today's audience and especially the young generation. Nevertheless, for the practical part I have chosen a different strategy: through encountering the folk music (songs of the southern Bohemia in this case) children learn about some features of modern pop music (from jazz through mid stream pop song to pop music. Socio-economic situation of the self-employed persons
Neubertová, Kamila ; Krebs, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Kotýnková, Magdalena (referee)
The diploma thesis attends to socio-economic situation of the self-employed in the Czech Republic. It focuses on the diversity of their social security, which differs from employees, defines problems and offers possible solutions. Besides, it concentrates on income taxation of the self-employed and on the model examples it analyzes total tax burden of their income. Then it compares it to the two possible alternatives of this gainful activity - being employed or set up Limited Liability Company. On the base of analysis and comparing positives and negatives each possibility brings, decides which one is in the specific cases more convenient. It takes into account also non-economical factors like leisure time, working hours or possibility of vacation that can affect the decision of starting own business.

Content management system and its application
Sládek, Jakub ; Kastl, Jan (advisor) ; Pták, Dalibor (referee)
This diploma thesis is about content management systems, in particular the open source system Drupal, which is aimed at publishing on the internet. It offers a reader the insight into the area of the content management systems, it explains the criteria of sorting them into groups, it provides a guide to selection the proper content management system. To a reader, the latest version (6) of the Drupal system is introduced. The system is critically evaluated. For the purpose of this paper a web site was created together with the description of its creation. Thanks to this, the reader can learn, how to work with the system. It can be beneficial, because there is not enough literature for Drupal. At the end a new module is made, together with the explanation of its creation.

Ants and primary vegetation succession on abandoned industrial-waste deposits
Vojtíšek, Pavel ; Kovář, Pavel (advisor) ; Holec, Michal (referee)
Abandoned industrial-waste deposits (incl. fly ash or tailings ponds) represent very specific and mostly extreme habitat conditions. They offer unique opportunity to study primary succession in cultural landscape. Substrate of the material deposited here shows extreme properties, such as low pH, overheating of the open surface, salinization etc. The aim of this work is to map the colonization of different successional stages of vegetation by ants after years of abandonment of ore-waste deposits in Chvaletice (Eastern Bohemia, CR) and to compare the present state with analogous study made in 2001. Particular aims of both studies (Jarešová 2001, and present study, 2011-12) is to test the influence of ants on vegetation succession. During the years 2011-2012 several prospections were made to record species diversity of ants. On the surface plateau of the sedimentation basin two types of habitats were chosen - the areas with present ant nests and the other areas without them. Each of both types of habitats exhibits different plant species richness: separately the species-area curves were constructed and explained. Three dominant ant species of different size categories present on sedimentation basin were selected for experimental offering of plant seeds, Formica pratensis, Lasius niger, Tetramorium...

Elastic Scattering at the LHC

Title: Elastic scattering at the LHC Author: Jan Kasˇpar Departement: Institute of Particle and Nuclear Physics Supervisor of the thesis: RNDr. Vojtečh Kundra't, DrSc., Institute of Physics AS CR Abstract: The seemingly simple elastic scattering of protons still presents a challenge for the theory. In this thesis we discuss the elastic scattering from theoretical as well as experimental point of view. In the theory part, we present several mod- els and their predictions for the LHC. We also discuss the Coulomb-hadronic interference, where we present a new eikonal calculation to all orders of α, the fine-structure constant. In the experimental part we introduce the TOTEM experiment which is dedicated, among other subjects, to the measurement of the elastic scattering at the LHC. This measurement is performed primarily with the Roman Pot (RP) detectors - movable beam-pipe insertions hundreds of meters from the interaction point, that can detect protons scattered to very small angles. We discuss some aspects of the RP simulation and reconstruc- tion software. A central point is devoted to the techniques of RP alignment - determining the RP sensor positions relative to each other and to the beam. At the end we present the analysis of TOTEM's first elastic scattering mea- surement at the LHC. The resulting...

The Eneolithic site Líbeznice, distr. of Prague - East
Sosnová, Anežka ; Dobeš, Miroslav (advisor) ; Popelka, Miroslav (referee)
The polycultural settlement area in Libeznice (Prague-East district) represents a relatively large complex of many different settlement structures, mostly of Funnel Beaker culture and Hallstat period, as well as three Unetice culture tombs and a skeleton burial probably of La-Téne period. An archaeological excavation, which was caused by the construction of a ring road, took place in the years 2008 and 2009. During the works several dozens of settlement structures of Funnel Beaker culture were uncovered - a large open settlement with more than ten long houses. In this thesis a chosen group of sixteen settlement structures is dealt with and published and its ceramic artefacts are analysed in detail. On the basis of its morphological features was this settlement dated to the younger period of Funnel Beaker culture, i.e. to the salzmünde phase. This study is extended with several introductory chapters summarizing the up-to-date scholarship on Czech Early and the beginning of the Middle Eneolithic periods to enable the better global understanding and the clearer wider context of the artefacts and structures of this settlement. Middle Eneolithic period - Funnel Beaker culture - Salzmünde phase - habitation area - Bohemia

Polyfunctional building
Michna, Patrik ; Pospíšil, Jaroslav (referee) ; Fuciman, Ondřej (advisor)
The assignment of my diploma thesis was to design a polyfunctional building. Function of the building is based on the requirements of the Land Use Plan Brno, cadastral zone Židenice. The aim of the design was to improve the quality of public space in the area by creating parks, urban parterre with services, parking and by bringing missing features to the area. The building is located in the centre of the plot. The main facade is oriented to the main street. Design creates new parking on the ground and in the underground garage. On the first floor are rentable spaces for commerce and services. At 2nd and 3rd floor are open space offices with the possibility of spatial variability solutions. Architectural expression of the building is simple, consisting as a compact mass with parterre subsided, useful in terms of energetical sustainability. The facade of the building is made as a combination of a transparent double skin facade and opaque ventilated facade with fibre cement panels. Structural system is a precast concrete frame with a cast-in-place reinforced concrete shear core. Foundation is made as a reinforced concrete pads and strips. Ceiling is made of a precast prestressed hollow core slabs.

Socio-cultural centre with townhall for the district Brno-Kohoutovice
Valošková, Tereza ; Pechman, Tomáš (referee) ; Sochor, Jan (advisor)
From a theoretical perspective, concept of City Hall building is built on three values: openness, transparency and community support. I understand these values at two perspektive: literally, as access to buildings not only in the opening hours of the town hall, and figuratively, as openness to other than bureaucratic functions. Town Hall should also promote cohesion and dynamism of the local community. Not just a casual setting where people spend just a neccesary time, but a space where people will want to delay a meeting. The value of transparency in my political and social environment is essential. Town Hall can, and should, give citizens view into the working space officials, as well they should not be cut off from events in the city. Flow of information to and perceptions can be beneficial for both sides.

Key competencies for sustainable action in early education curriculum

Univerzita Karlova v Praze Pedagogická fakulta ABSTRACT KEY COMPETENCIES FOR SUSTAINABLE ACTION IN EARLY EDUCATION CURRICULUM PhDr. Tereza Vošahlíková Vedoucí práce Doc. RNDr. Vasilis Teodoridis, Ph.D. Katedra biologie a environmentálních studií Pedf UK Doktorský studijní program pedagogika Externí konzultantka Prof. dr. Ute Stoltenberg Institut für integrative Studien, Leuphana Universität Lüneburg Praha 2012 The thesis introduces environmentally oriented concepts in early education curriculum with one leading point of view: key competences for sustainable action. Key competences represent new, open ended form of educational goals. Early education curriculum defined broadly as all educational content (planned, realized and hidden) presents a field of study of this thesis. In this field, a new concept, education for sustainable development, should be implemented worldwide. The question is, how far and how successfully can this concept be introduced in the early education curriculum on the level of educational goals. There are many general strategies and models of curriculum revision. In order to structure the empirical study, a hierarchical model of macro-, meso- and micro level of curriculum was established. This model allows examination of two ways of education for sustainable development implementation,...
