Improving evolutionary algorithms using probability mixture models
Bajer, Lukáš ; Kovářík, Oleg (referee) ; Holeňa, Martin (advisor)
Evolutionary, and especially genetic algorithms have become one of the most successful methods for the optimization of empirical objective functions. However, in many engineering applications, evaluation of the empirical fitness function can be very time consuming or cost a considerable amount of money. In this article, we employ a surrogate model of the original fitness function which serves as a fast approximation whenever needed. First, we intended to use finite mixture models, but radial basis function networks was finally used as a particular surrogate model because of implementability. With this method, much larger populations or several generations can be simulated without waiting for expensive objective function evaluation. As a result, faster convergence in terms of the number of the original empirical fitness evaluations is achieved.

Systém sociálního pojištění a veřejný dluh
Bouška, Petr
The goal of this thesis is to prove the connection between the system of social in-surance and public debt in the Czech Republic. The thesis focuses on defining the most important factors and causes that influence both mentioned systems the most. The next part of the thesis describes social insurance systems in the Czech and the Slovak Republic and in Estonia focusing on the method of administration and financing those systems. Correlation and regression analysis serves to prove the connection between those systems and public debt. In the last part of the the-sis, the conlusion based on this comparison expresses whether the connection between those mentioned system is present in the Czech Republic or not.

Gustav Habrman: social democrat on the way from "anarchism" to "revisionism"
Šlehofer, Lukáš ; Čechurová, Jana (advisor) ; Rákosník, Jakub (referee)
The main aim of this graduation thesis is to describe life of an important Czech social democratic politician Gustav Habrman. A special attention is paid to his ideological development. He was born in Česká Třebová in 1864. His family was very poor. When Habrman was served out, he moved to Vienna, because he did not get the opportunity to find a work in his native city. In the capital city of the Austro-Hungarian Empire he took up with ideas of workers' movement. He also became a member of this movement and participated in its activities. One part of these activities was illegal. When the secret police found illegal printing plant, he was arrested and later sentenced to four-year jail. After his return from the prison Habrman decided to move to Paris. In this city he lived more than one year. Then he had to leave it because he suffered from a serious illness: when prisoned in Austria, he was infected with tuberculosis. He moved to the USA to New York and there he worked as a turner. He wanted to return back to Europe but during his stay in Bohemia in 1892 he was under sight of the Austrian Police and therefore he moved back to America. There he worked in Czech compatriotic workers' newspapers. A very important event during his second stay in America was his attempt to help Cuba fighters for freedom. In 1897...

The depiction of Others in Armenian sources of the 16th-18th centuries
Kohoutková, Petra ; Šatava, Leoš (advisor) ; Šmíd, Tomáš (referee) ; Aslan, Emil (referee)
The dissertation titled The Depiction of Others in Armenian Sources of the 16th - 18th Centuries is conceived as scholarly research at the boundary between two disciplines - ethnology and history. The introductory chapters devoted to the formation of the stereotypical images of Others and to the fundamental attributes of the Armenian identity served as a sort of springboard for my analysis of Armenian historical texts. Secondarily, they permitted me to tackle the question of the traditional "Us against Them" dichotomy, taking as an example the local Armenian communities and their chief "enemies" - Muslims, heretics and converts. My effort has been to capture the relations between the Armenians and their Muslim neighbors before ethnic stereotypes had been codified during the period of growing nationalism. The main part of the dissertation, titled We and They: Categories of Others in the Eyes of Armenian Chroniclers from the Frontiers, is based mainly on the study of primary sources - period Armenian chronicles and colophons. It is a probe into regional history; a microhistory of the Lake Van region in the 17th and 18th centuries. Reflected in its example is the history of all of the Ottoman Empire and its gradual decline, the deterioration of the standing of the dhimmi and the growing tensions between...

Analysis of Social CRM potencial
Vitaiová, Ornela ; Basl, Josef (advisor) ; Fortinová, Jana (referee)
The submitted bachelor's thesis studies emerging phenomena from the field of enterprise informatics - information systems called as Social CRM or CRM 2.0. Social CRM is not understood and treated here only as software tools but rather the opposite. The text aims to clarify fundamentals and purpose of this new attitude, confront it with the traditional CRM and introduce it in a broader context which understanding is vital for successful implementation of Social CRM into practice. Therefore, by this thesis authoress also maps social, managerial, business and technologic changes which were at the background of SCRM emergence, and she offers her own unbiased understanding of it. This thesis brings a theoretical introduction in subject of the Social CRM products supply and evaluates its contemporary condition. Conducted survey research broadens the view of the Social CRM market condition with the understanding of these technologies and managerial approaches by the market demand side. Authoress doesn't aims to create the most extent or complete material concerning this topic, but rather tries to summarize basic information into a lucid form that can serve as a good starting point when trying to understand and study Social CRM subject.

Approach of entrepreneurs to delegate responsibilities as the necessary condition of the firms' growth
Říhová, Monika ; Lukeš, Martin (advisor) ; Procházka, David Anthony (referee)
The master thesis deals with delegating of the work in small, rapidly growing companies. The main objective is to determine what approaches entrepreneurs apply to delegate in the growth phase of the company. The theoretical part describes the relevant theoretical concepts such as business growth, human resources in the company, analysis of entrepreneurs' work time and the work delegating. There are presented results of foreign research in this thesis that serves as the basis for my own investigation. In the methodical part the methods used and the research process are being specified together with the criteria for selecting the sample of respondents and subsequent data analysis procedure. The empirical part examines a sample of 12 entrepreneurs and presents the results of the investigation. The opinions of 97 subordinates of individual entrepreneurs are also included. Results of the research lead to the conclusion that entrepreneurs often do not use the potential of described managerial techniques, even if it would lead to the benefit of further development of the company.

Investigating the Pronunciation of Loanwords
Štěpánová, Veronika ; Duběda, T. ; Havlík, Martin ; Jílková, Lucie
Our analysis of Czech loanword phonology under the project “Pronunciation of non-integrated lexical items” is based on a theoretical framework which includes eight adaptation principles (phonological approximation; spelling pronunciation; original pronunciation; analogy with the donor language; analogy with the recipient language; influence of a third language; influence of universals; unclearly motivated pronunciation). A large-scale empirical survey of pronunciation practice, which is a part of this project, offers a realistic view of loanword phonology in Czech, with respect to both its current state and its dynamics. The data obtained provide socially stratified insights into problems such as the variation of vowel length, that of consonant voicing, the pronunciation of proper names, and the influence of spelling. The database of recorded variants may serve as a resource for lexicographic work.

Business model - HUB Prague
Centnerová, Michala ; Zeman, Jiří (advisor) ; Vítek, Petr (referee)
Social business is type of business, which primary objective is very different from the profit-driven business. Social business objective is to create an added value to society and achieve at least some profit, which serves as a means to achieve this goal. For my thesis I have chosen a business model analysis of the new organization Hub Prague, which is a representative of a social entrepreneurship and which has entered Czech market in 2010. I have examined mainly its income and expenditures and the consequent ability to survive in the future. I have chosen this topic because I believe the social business as a whole new kind of business has the ability not only to succeed in the market, but bring a positive impact and add value to people in its neighborhood as well. According to the analysis performed I think that Hub owners should pay attention to cash flow management to ensure sufficient funds to run the business. To ensure Hub's Access it should focus its marketing activities on right communication of its mission towards its potential and current members and monitor its capacity constraints.
