Home search and search of other premises and locations
Paráčková, Monika ; Jelínek, Jiří (advisor) ; Pelc, Vladimír (referee)
This doctoral thesis concerns itself with the search of one's home or search of other premises and locations by law enforcement. The objective is to provide an assessment of the current legal framework for such searches, both in terms of whether personal rights are being sufficiently protected and in terms of whether the framework is well-suited for practical application. Given the nature of home searches and searches of other premises and locations, i.e., more specifically, given how the performance of such searches may infringe upon personality rights, this thesis takes a rather detailed look at the proportionality between the interference with such rights, on the one hand, and the importance of conducting the home search for the respective criminal procedure, on the other. For this reason, an entire chapter is dedicated to the concepts of privacy protection, the inviolability of the home, and the right to be secure in one's home. The thesis analyzes in detail the legal framework for home searches and the search of other premises and locations under current Czech law, but also provides an overview of the historical legal development in our country, touching upon the various pieces of legislation which governed this criminal-law instrument in the past. Naturally, the thesis also devotes space to...

Urban, Tereza ; Vochocová, Lenka (advisor) ; Soukup, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the widespread phenomenon of sharenting, an activity in which parents share photos, videos, or detailed descriptions of their children on social media. The diploma thesis aims to find out how Czech adolescents, who have direct experience with this phenomenon, feel about it. The qualitative research is based on findings obtained through in- depth interviews with eleven adolescents. The theoretical part is devoted to the definition of the main concepts - adolescence and sharenting and puts them in the context of Communication Privacy Management Theory and Impression Management Theory. The empirical part then presents the results and conclusions of the research. The results of the analysis show that adolescents' views on sharenting are largely influenced by their perceptions of the risks associated with this phenomenon. Those of them who had a somewhat negative experience with sharenting perceived this activity as riskier. At the same time, those who perceived social networks in general as a potential threat were more aware of their risks. On the other hand, if the rules for sharing are well set between parents and their children and parents respect the opinion of their children, sharenting can be perceived positively among the adolescents themselves, and they may even...

The field of steganography deals with concealing information with the goal of hiding their very existence. The goal of this work is to create a summary of existing digital audio steganography methods and implement some of them. This work presents easily extensible and usable multiplatform library for audio steganography written in the Python programming language and a program that uses it. At the end of this work are the implemented methods compared against each other and against the published methods. Because it is hard to find concrete implementations of various published methods, the presented library enables almost anyone to easily use the implemented steganographic methods and to continue working on research in this field without the need to reimplement all of them.

Right to be forgotten as part of personality rights
Vítek, Dominik ; Elischer, David (advisor) ; Rozehnal, Aleš (referee) ; Šustek, Petr (referee)
Dominik Vítek 1 Abstract - Right to be forgotten as part of personality rights Right to be forgotten (or also right to oblivion) is a new phenomenon formed by the Court of Justice of the European Union in 2014 in the case of Google Spain. The right was then enacted as part of the General Data Protection Regulation and consequently became applicable throughout the EU and EEA since 25 May 2018. This thesis goes beyond the scope of personal data protection (under the GDPR) and considers whether the right to be forgotten forms a part of the personality and the right to privacy as such, thus being protected as a fundamental human right. On this basis, it also considers whether not only individuals but also legal entities could benefit from the right to be forgotten. These questions are assessed in view of the conflict of fundamental human rights and their proportionality test - right to privacy (also relying on and stemming from human inviolability and dignity) as balanced against other human rights, in particular, freedom to speech and freedom of information that need to be evaluated when performing the right be forgotten. It is also necessary to consider the purpose and fundamental principles of privacy and its protection and the purpose of forgetting and its meaning for individuals and society as a whole. All...
The Role of Privacy in Forming the European Union's Normative Power through Regulation
Hejtmánek, Matěj ; Young, Mitchell (advisor) ; Weiss, Tomáš (referee)
The question of privacy has long been an integral part of the debate on human rights and fundamental values, which national governments should ensure. The rapid technological development of last decades brought the topic of privacy protection even more to display mainly because of the rising digital economy and new challenges that are connect with it. This thesis discusses the role of privacy, as a fundamental right, in forming the European Union's role as a global power, specifically, the thesis builds on two theories: The Normative Power Europe and The Brussels Effect. Digital economy of the European Union has been growing exponentially over the last two decades. Given the increased importance of the digital economy since the 1990s the European Union started to gradually implement laws to regulate the flow of the personal data online. These new regulations often had influence on global markets and big tech companies operating on the European single market but residing outside of Europe. Apart from analyzing the development of the European data protection laws, and the role that was played by the European Courts in forming the European global power, the thesis overviews the debate surrounding the incentives to introduce new regulations to protect the right private life of European citizens.
